    Let’s stop with this and call it out for what it is: the Chicago White Sox operate as a AAAA team and are a farm team for the 8 or so legitimate MLB teams that are trying to win.
    And if you choose spend money to support this AAAA organization that’s on you.

    I see another 110-plus loss season coming (if not several). This is a circle of life scenario for the Sox -- poor player selection, no overall plan, subpar development, no consistency of management, then have a fire sale of your stars for the glimmering hope of the future. Rinse, repeat. How can this completely fall apart in five years? Not hard, really...just do this over and over.

    The White Sox didn't HAVE TO send away Garrett Crochet. They've made a bizarre organizational decision that no player is ever a foundational player in their rebuild. Look, every team at one time or another makes the decision to be a "seller" and rebuild the farm system. Only the White Sox, though, have decided that what they need to do is trade away EVERYBODY who has ANY VALUE and field a team only consisting of players with NO VALUE. That's how you get to 121 losses. And that total was with Garrett Crochet on the team. It feels like they're shooting for 122 losses in 2025.

    • @TheMetal213
      @TheMetal213 Месяц назад

      I swear! There was NO REASON AT ALL to trade Crochet! A stud pitcher at 25 to build around for years to come. You’ll NEVER make any traction towards being competitive if you constantly trade quality players away for hopes of others being good. And especially now that the MLB Draft is a lottery where having the worst record doesn’t guarantee you the top pick anymore, tanking intentionally is basically irrelevant now.

      They didn’t get squat. Teel was Boston’s 4th Best rated blue chip, Montgomery below that. The others are middling prospects.
      Not ONE serviceable needed-right-now player. Just a handful of maybe’s. Chicago eclipses 41 wins next year, it’ll be because opponents took a step back.

    • @joeraguso5376
      @joeraguso5376 Месяц назад +2

      @GizmoBeach Teel is a top 25 prospect in the game that just put up a full season .819 OPS between AA and AAA at 22 years old. Montgomery is a borderline top 50 prospect who would've been a top 3 draft pick in last years draft if he didn't break his ankle at the end of his college season. Both can draw walks and field multiple positions at a high level in their early 20s. That's a huge return. Meidroth will be the starting second baseman next season. He's a contact hitter that draws a ton of walks, so his floor is high. Gonzalez is a 22 year old pitcher with the stuff. He'll be in the bullpen in a couple years.
      4 major league contributors, 2 with high end ceilings, for a pitcher with less than 200 IP in the majors that's about to sign a monster deal is an awesome return. You need to recalibrate your expectations.

    I don’t think the Wsox are as far away as you might think. Rapid turnarounds have happened in today’s game. The 1970 Wsox were 56-106, were 79-83 the next year, another year later they had a winning season. Though back then this was uncommon.

    • @MS-ht9it
      @MS-ht9it Месяц назад +2

      Yes, 21st century scouting and developing players who can walk is a good thing, but with Reinsdorf still lording over operations there's no hope for a true contender. Even if some of these prospects develop you still need to compliment them with real talent, but like old Wirtz circa 1999 they won't pay for them.

    • @joeraguso5376
      @joeraguso5376 Месяц назад

      @MS-ht9it That could be possible, but the thing us Kenny was the one in charge of scouting and developing players his entire time here. And there was nothing he did that resembles 21st century anything. The other thing about developing players that nobody tells you about is that having players with the correct skill-set helps out a lot with development.
      I understand ownership is cheap on free agents and plays favorites with front office personnel, but Chris Getz is clearly trying to build a different team than Hahn (Kenny) was trying to build.
