This is the first bass my dad bought me when I was 8 years old in 1988 and kept it till 1994 till I had my 2nd bass which was an 5 string peavey foundation and as of today now I have an 5 string sterling music man bass
I’ve found somebody local selling one of these and I’m really considering it! I think the humbucker pickups would sound cool for the type of Sabbathy riffs we play, based on seeing you jam on it here.
I agree about the pickups and usually prefer a P placement too. The bridge pickup here is about where a MM Stingray would be - I just got an Eastwood version with the P90 style pickups and I'm digging the bridge pickup, it's a great tone for funk too!
I bought a phase 1 hi flier from guitar center in "good" condition...it was utterly unusable, the neck and bridge were horribly misaligned...so I promptly returned it, and the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I love the sound of those p-90 looking pickups so it was a bummer
