Pretty decent card, but the numbers for a plus membership get tight really fast for individuals/couples if combining with other no annual fee cards. The freedom and it cards might already get you 5% over 6 months and you can use a 2% card for the rest making the net even cost just over $300/month in those 6 months.
I shop at Sams Club every other week spending around $80-$180. I’ve had my plus for 5 year now and just had to pay the $100 plus membership once (wasn’t shopping as much at that time) other than that it pays itself so for me it’s worth paying the extra $55.
I do all my grocery shopping in wholesale clubs, so I easily spend well over the $1400 necessary to make this card worth it. I was approved for it today, thanks for the review. Also, interesting tidbit I read in the agreement about this card. It doesn't have foreign transaction fees. I found that so odd in a card like this. Something to keep in mind, in case someone needs a backup travel card? 🤣
I have a Sams Club + MC and will be getting a Chase Sapphire Preferred shortly. Which is better to use for gas purchases? On the face of it I would think the 5% of the Sams card is better, but does the Sapphire Preferred actually work out to be more valuable in travel points?
If gas counts as part of the broad travel category of 2x/pt, then you need to redeem the points at a value of more than 2.5c/pt to make the Chase Sapphire Preferred worth it. Its possible, but VERY difficult. Probably better off with the Sams Club unless you need the gas purchases to meet minimum spend for the CSP bonus.
Does the scan and go count as online shopping or in store? Because with my Bank of America credit card the scan and go feature counts as online shopping
I honestly would only get this for the gas… 5% back is awesome. I also don’t like that the Sam’s Cash back has a LOT of limits and you can’t earn cash back on certain items like alcohol, gift cards, and stamps. It’s decent, but not amazing. I still like Sam’s for some stuff, but Costco still has them beat!
I love my Sam’s Club Plus Member Mastercard. I usually spend about $220 a month. I get back on average about $20 in Sam’s cash per month which I apply toward my next purchase. Plus the gas savings at Sam’s as well as any other gas station is amazing. I would definitely recommend this card. I get more savings with this card than other cards I have in my wallet.
I do shop at Sams occasionally. But I really have it for the gas 5%. But now when I shop in store I get 5% also. I like it. I was a plus member already. Win win
I have that card is on the drawer. 😁 No value even Is a regular mastercard. But thanks for the video really well explained. And help me remember that card.
Functionally there is no difference between a business member and an individual. They can join at either club or plus level and get the same benefits. Business members just have an extra page to fill out with business info and can file tax free paperwork from the state or IRS

This is similar to Costco who charges an extra $60 a year to give members who pay it an additional 2% back on Costco purchases.

Nice breakdown. Thanks I did not know about this one
I grabbed a Sam’s Club MC this afternoon stoked! ✊💳
Does the scan and go count as online shopping or in store? Because with my Bank of America credit card the scan and go feature counts as online shopping
I was wondering the same?👍
Gotta ask in-store to be sure or a quick call🤔
Counts as in-store when doing scan and go. Tried it out for a month, shows up as 3% cashback on my statement.
Thanks for the examples because I was totally lost at first 🤗

My points aren’t posting?
But it was only for the first year up to 6k?
@@juniorcruz469 Every year up to 6k for gas anywhere
@@royzeus9969 perfect

So you get 5% back for fuel? And can you use this card for fuel at Walmart or any other gas station & get the 5% back as well?
Correct
Tuesday in April was 10% back and Saturday in June is 10% back on gas but only at their pumps, still 5% back at other stations.
Thanks so much for this since I spend about $180.00 a month on Sam’s Club.
So if you don’t renew your membership you can’t use the card anymore? Just curious.
Yes the account will get closed.
I kept on forgetting to subscribe. Just did.
Thanks!
So what happens if you use scan and go “in store” but online (I.e. on the app). How does that work?
The 3+2% still applies. Used it all month, shows up on the statement just fine.
Idk why my points aren’t posting?
It’s a world elite MasterCard, so if you pay your cellphone bill, you don’t need extra cell phone insurance
How does that work?
I'm guessing you only get 3% on line cuz free delivery w/100 $ membership
If you have a business membership, do you get the plus benefits or the regular membership benefits?
Business members choose the same 45/100 levels just like individual members and get the same benefits
My Amex points: 240,000
My chase points: 54
Love the math part
Does this affect Sam’s cash?….or do you still get it regardless of your form of payment?
awesome video! 👍
Does this card count against you Chase 5/24 status?
I wasted a hard pull cause I don’t use it. My amex blue cash offer the same exact thing.
1400?? I hit that by mid February
I thought it was 5% on gas for the 1st year/6k and 1% after that ?
Nope, it’s 5% every year up to $6000
The math only works if the person doesn’t have a 2% card like a citi doublecash
If you wanted an credit increase does it involve a hard pull?
No, soft pull from when I called into the issuer.
🙌🏾
how does this apply to sams club business members?
Functionally there is no difference between a business member and an individual. They can join at either club or plus level and get the same benefits. Business members just have an extra page to fill out with business info and can file tax free paperwork from the state or IRS
Another one(k)
stumbling along 🙈
Sam's Club's better than Costco
