LOVE this stitch!!! As for what to do with it.....I love taking a pair of jeans and embroidering something epic, like a cherry blossom branch starting on the hip and/or the lower left pant leg.

Oh, it’s not hard. I learned to embroider when I was little. Same time my brother learned. Just get a hoop, cloth, needle and threads. Hardest part is to start. Try it!
@@maramakesjournals2319 Maybe my projects were always just too big for my skill level, but I always found the hardest part about embroidery is finishing. It just takes so long!! XD

Only if you don't travel in the needlework circles. There are tens of thousands of us that can do this. It is just something that takes a little time and people have precious little of that!

I use to embroider on cloth and then changed the medium to card stock and made embroidered greeting cards. It's been awhile, but I think it's time to pick it up again!!

I LOVE the idea of using embroidery to make greeting cards!!! I thought this was very beautiful, but I couldn't think of a place I'd ever use it. I think using burlap, on burlap colored card stock, with something like this, popping out with such beautiful colors, would make a gorgeous homemade card. Maybe even invitations, if you use a less time consuming pattern. Thanks for the ideas!!!

The comments here are precious. Yes, embroidery is relaxing to watch. It’s a visual bedtime story. But it’s also relaxing and satisfying to do. Don’t let these old-timely crafts die out! Embroidery isn’t hard to do and it’s an extremely inexpensive hobby. You can do it!

I love how you show stuff like the thread tangling or accidentally going through the wrong hole because it shows how to deal with those things! Not many other embroidery channels do that. Love how you show exactly how and where your needle goes each time, too, it’s super good for beginners

I feel like stuff like this is becoming a lost art that a lot of our grandmothers knew how to do but wasn't passed down. I've always wanted to have the patience to do this. Or sit back down and do latch hook like i used to love as a kid.

This reminds me of when I was younger. We had just moved into a new house we were renting, and the couple next door were in their 80s. The husband was an artist, veteran, and stamp collector. The wife was an embroider and Baker. They brought us baked goods, came to thanksgiving, and started a stamp collection for my brother. Every Thursday I would go to their house and she would teach me to embroider, even though I barely remember any of it. It was during a very rough time in my life because of family drama, but we moved away shortly after. I never got to say goodbye or thank you for all the things they did for me and my brothers. ❤️
