That $224k is the revenue that was created from that video and the creators get paid a commission on that $224k. In your example their commission is 27.5% of $224k which means the affiliate made $61,787 not $224k but $61,787 is still a hell of a lot of $ for one video regardless.
There's so many mistakes in this video, you cant connect printify to redbubble or amazon, his actual store was found and none of these products sold, etc. this is just sponsored content which he didn't even label by the looks of it. The nerve to show that screenshot when his own store averaged 2 sales a year and none of the new designs sold lol
This is misleading, because you cannot do this with a new account. In addition to the steps you mentioned, you need to have 5,000 followers. Once you have 5k followers, you need to apply to become an 'affiliate' in order to have access to the TikTok shop, and be able to sell/promote. I know this because I did everything, and then ran into this dead end, without access to the shop. Please pin this, or at least give it a thumbs up so others aren't misled.

Also don't expect to use these editing tools extensively unless you pay subscriptions (even then some are pretty limited). So you can expect upfront costs. Just keeping it honest.

Heres the issue 1st hand and true. 1, tiktok can track AI created images as of now and know it's not organic. 2 To use tiktok to promote affiliate links or products, you MUST have the product in hand organically and promote the product with visual engagement. Hence, no AI videos may work but can get you suspended in the long run. Almost all AI videos will not be allowed on the FYP of TT. So, to summarize, do it right, just review the product with an organic video with the product in hand, dont use hashtags that are over 1 million views / used and last but not least dont buy views from 3rd party companies, grow your nitch with you and keep grindind no more then 2 videos a day.

Everything was working out fine except when I click on tik tok shop I don't have the option to click on product market place button it just says shop or cant add the product to show case. I don't know what I did wrong and I am assuming I need this so I can link it later to the videos I make. Just a heads up to folks trying this now, this method of creating a seller account and linking it to be able to get access to the affiliate program, no longer works with new accounts under 5000 follows unfortunately. I just spent half a week trying to make this work finding that out the hard way. Such a PITA now unfortunately 😒

For some reason TT didn't make me add any to get my page up, but maybe I have to in order to get this button. He went through the add product part so fast, it's hard to follow. It looks like he just added random info and not a real product.
If I understand what you’re saying and I’m not mistaken , you have to create your own shop and then import the products quite similar to Shopify he shows that somewhere in the middle of the video or close to the end. Hope that helps smh

Would love you to talk about the importance of choosing your shop name; and if u are sticking with one type of product making sure the name is somewhat future proof in terms of alignment with the kinds of products you plan to sell. Also I’m seeing a lot of videos talking about getting denied or penalties on TikTok for making false claims, 3 warnings and you loose your account, which is a big deal esp if you’re linking your id/identity to the account, you could easily screw yourself very early on just through lack of knowledge of what’s allowed….

I was finally able to connect my account, but now when I try to add a product in the marketplace I get the following. "You don't have permission to add products in the current region". I created a ticket in Seller Central and in TikTok and all the ever do is point you back to instructions on the site that are completely unrelated to the issue.

Yeah. I saw something on the process on tiktok itself saying you needed 5k followers. Crazy thing is that Joshua only has 2 followers. Tiktok is so crazy. They have ever changing standards. I hope 5k followers actually works.

Joshua your videos are very informative and you put out great content. I have opened both personal/business and linked my first tik tok affiliate program account, I just did this 5/12/24. Everything was working out fine except when I click on tik tok shop I don't have the option to click on product market place button it just says shop or cant add the product to show case. I don't know what I did wrong and I am assuming I need this so I can link it later to the videos I make. Just a heads up to folks trying this now, this method of creating a seller account and linking it to be able to get access to the affiliate program, no longer works with new accounts under 5000 follows unfortunately. I just spent half a week trying to make this work finding that out the hard way. Such a PITA now unfortunately 😒

no you need 10k followers to profit through tiktok. You can set up the shop at your leisure and go from there.
I believe you need a minimum of 5k followers to join the affiliate marketing program.

I created a seller page a little while ago but I didn't think I could do affiliate sales with it because it looked like I had to have my own product. Based on your video, it looks like I can sell an affiliate product. I'm going to go back and rewatch this a couple of times and then create a couple of videos and see what I can do. @@FlacoGaming-YT Yes and no. My shop is set up and linked and everything but I don't get the "Product Marketplace" button (shown at 19:33). It could be because I haven't added any products yet. For some reason TT didn't make me add any to get my page up, but maybe I have to in order to get this button. He went through the add product part so fast, it's hard to follow. It looks like he just added random info and not a real product.

If I understand what you’re saying and I’m not mistaken , you have to create your own shop and then import the products quite similar to Shopify he shows that somewhere in the middle of the video or close to the end. Hope that helps smh

I spoke to live chat support and they said you need 5,000 followers to be an Affiliate Creator, aka get the product marketplace to browse products to promote. It's a bummer

Would love you to talk about the importance of choosing your shop name; and if u are sticking with one type of product making sure the name is somewhat future proof in terms of alignment with the kinds of products you plan to sell.
Also I’m seeing a lot of videos talking about getting denied or penalties on TikTok for making false claims, 3 warnings and you loose your account, which is a big deal esp if you’re linking your id/identity to the account, you could easily screw yourself very early on just through lack of knowledge of what’s allowed….

yea you cant really get passed this, actually you cant even be connected to the tik tok shop if you want to be apart of the affiliate program.

I watched this video probably 3 times, the part when you explain that TikTok makes you add the product and the description and all this is crazy, I don't know really what you put in all empty spaces because every product that you select you have to put a lot information, so please can you make a video explaining exactly how to do this? I went through all the steps. I have the shop icon but do not have the Product Marketplace. Any suggestions
I was finally able to connect my account, but now when I try to add a product in the marketplace I get the following. "You don't have permission to add products in the current region". I created a ticket in Seller Central and in TikTok and all the ever do is point you back to instructions on the site that are completely unrelated to the issue.
