This song was originally done by Sting. At around 2:20 the original lyrics are Confront your enemies, avoid them when you can. The big push version is Befriend your enemies, confront them when you can.❤️ just another reason to love Ren and his crew!
1:29, Ren and Romain are close friends who lived together and were in a band together for 6 years (2017-2022). It doesn't surprise me that they influenced each other personally and musically.
Their voices sound so good together! One of my favorites that doesn’t get many reactions is ‘These Boots are Made for Walking/Satisfaction/Everybody’. I know you’ll love it!
Great reaction to a great song, a cover of the original by Sting. Sting is one of Ren's biggest musical influences. Its actually about the Gay English eccentric Quentin Crisp, who went to live in New York. He was always himself.
both ren and romain live through their music, like physically their in the moment and so is every part of their body, very expressional especially when their playing their guitars, their faces watch how their fsces are i a special guitar scene or note
You crack me up! FYI, you can hear all 3 of the boys sing in The Big Push's video "What Kind of Woman is This". A great cover of one of my favorite Buddy Guy songs. It doesn't get NEARLY enough play. You'll love this one. Thanks for making me smile. Today was a crap day.
Awe im so sorry to hear that! Come on back and ill make sure u smile! We have those days but we have each other to get over those humps! Im here for u!!
I think there's a big connection with Ren and Romaine. I see it in every busking session. The way they interact. Maybe that's what you're sensing. If you do Sweet Little Lady video, you can really see it. The live acoustic version is great too but they don't interact in that one.
Ren and Romain were busking together before The Big Push formed. There are a couple of fairly obscure videos of them busking together and their performances are a bit more exaggerated in their movements (more jumping around). Probably learning their busking skills and how to attract/entertain a crowd. They definitely have a real musical chemistry and play off each other. Both incredibly talented musicians
I think you should do the Fat Boy Slim cover Praise You, as that has a solo for all three, and Gorran on his harmonica! I think they use which ever of their voices best suits the song, rather than having turns. Romain's range probably overlaps with Ren's more than Gorran's (who tends to do the rock or folk numbers), and I think if Ren and Romaine's voice would both work, you are going to pick Ren.
Ren is Welsh (from Wales, part of UK), Goran is English and Romaine is French. Uk = England plus Wales plus Scotland plus Northern Ireland. Ren’s accent is English though as he spent most of his adulthood in England
Yooo! Great reactions, as per usual. As far as Rom goes, you can check out his personal work, which every single song feels dreamy somehow. He's got this really awesome tone in his voice...Romain is a vibe!
Love Rens outfit in this! He is 🥵🤣. Romain does sing quite a few with TBP. But yep Ren and Romain both get taken over by the music its a beautiful sight 🖤
Lovely reaction, you are fast becoming YT's Ren/Big Push's biggest fan! I'd take time out to listen to Sting's original video of this, you'll see how The Big Push have sprinkled their own fairy dust on it but kept the undoubted respect for the original. Even if you don't react to Sting's (which I'd strongly advocate), watch listen to it, set in New York with beautiful saxophone, giving a cool jazz vibe!
Need to do a bit of Geography for you, people from the UK are British, but the UK is a country made up of the Kingdom of England, The Kingdom of Scotland, the Principality of Wales and the Province of Northern Ireland. Only those from England are called English, and some people (particularly many Scots) will get very cross if you get it wrong. Now Romaine is French, not sure about Gorran, though from his accent I suspect he is English. Ren was born and raised in Wales, so he is actually Welsh, though my hunch is that ancesterally he is English, his family seem to be based in England and Gill is an English name, so I doubt he would be bothered by being called English, though he always talks about Britain and Brighton in his work.
Yes Gorran is English and their drummer Glenn Chambers (not in this video) is from Northern Ireland. Not sure about Ren being ancestrally English but maybe you know better than me. Certainly Ren is proud of his Welsh roots and the language
People from the UK are British, in terms of nationality. Britain, or Great Britain, is the name of the largest island in the British Isles but it's also applied to the country as awhole. Nowadays the official name of the country is, "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" However it's usually shortened to the "United Kingdom" or "UK". Britain consists of England, Scotland and Wales, so people from there also call themselves English, Scottish or Welsh, as well as British. It's a bit like someone calling themselves Texan, as well as American, though the cultural identities are much deeper and go back millennia. That being said, most Brits have some kind of mixed heritage, even if they don't know so, or don't want to admit it. For instance, my dad was Irish, my mother was Scottish but I was born and mainly raised in England. The 4 constituent parts of the UK are referred to as the "Home Nations". Northern Ireland is on the island of Ireland but is part of the UK, alongside England, Scotland and Wales. England is the largest home nation and roughly 85% of the UK population live in England, which is why people often conflate the two, much to the ire of the Scottish, Welsh and Irish. :) London is the capital of the UK but it's also the capital of England. To give an illustration of the population disparity, the population of London alone, is roughly the same as the entire populations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland combined! Btw, as well as British, Ren identifies as Welsh, having been born and raised in north Wales. However I've also heard him inadvertently refer to himself as English on a few occasions. Probably because his parents are English and because he's lived his entire adult life in sothern England. He calls Brighton his hometown. Brighton's a town on the south coast of England. Ren has a decidedly English accent. You wouldn't know he was Welsh from his accent. He has a pretty generic southern English accent but with hints of London and Lancashire accents mixed in. Although English is his native tongue, he does also speak Welsh, as he learnt it in school. Welsh is a minority language in Wales and even most Welsh speakers have English as their native tongue, though there are still some parts of North Wales where it remains the native tongue. :)
Romain sings. He has his own channel...he does some good stuff. Mind you, some of it is in French, so I understand nothing...lol. But he has a good voice too! Great reaction as usual!! 👍👍
Are you into rock and roll if you are there's a group called (frog leap studios) that turns everything from Adele to even rock songs into metal songs did Toto from Africa done the Beatles ACDC Adele l in like $300 maybe I got to check them out just to see if it's interesting or not for you
