Pythagoras actually was afraid of beans, he thought if he swallowed one he would become pregnant, so he REALLY didn't want to become pregnant. That's why Pythagorians don't touch beans
I thought it was bc he thought eating beans akin to eating human flesh bc beans were similar to humans and to maim a bean would be like maiming a human.

Actually, that's just a story. It is about as true as the story of George Washington and the cherry tree. There's some mystery around how and when he died.
I really hope it involved beans somehow. I don't know why but that just seems better.

love this show and while it is often factually correct, I would take this with a grain of salt since there doesn't seem to be a definite version of how Pythagoras died. Still very funny, though. Also, his theorem isn't really that difficult, it just sounds it if you have never heard it before.

But he invented it. Creating new math when it doesn't exist is hard. Learning the theorem is relatively easy.
