Thus far so much on RUclips is either far too low-budget oriented and about cheap, easy finishes, or if a professional designer is involved, the 'free' content soon turns to a sales pitch for an expensive course. Your work is elegant, your finishes are beautifully thought through, and you appear to be content with the income you get simply by having subscribers. Fingers crossed the latter stays this way. I am a retired interior designer…never was at your level but you have an innate sense of style , proportion , color, etc. I did go to the New York School for interior design and it helped with much but if you not have the gift of the eye, it falls flat! I love your videos. I watch them and just dream of having someone come in and just tell me where to put the couch or a dining table. There are times I feel a really sad because I can't find anyone to help someone like me. Interior Designers seem to be for people with money. I've had three people turn me down this week because I live in a small condo and they don't do small jobs. I know with all that's going on in the world this isn't a real problem. But it's just so sad to me that I can't find someone to help. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and I'm looking forward to the light video.
Dear Ms. Paterson, I love your style (and eagerly take notes from your videos) but I struggle with pallette. I love your habit of using soft neutrals, texture, and subtle variations of soft colors color to add visual interest that you so frequently employ. What do suggest for a client whose absolutely favorite objects on earth are Grandmother's Hariz (with its vibrant reds) and blue and white porcelain? It's pretty hard to think of vibrant Turkish red or the intense cobalt blue of the porcelain as "soft" colors. How do I pair that with neutrals? How do I balance the room? Basically, I demanding the impossible; how do I avoid a red-white-and-blue living room while using a red carpet and a healthy dose of blue-and-white china? May I suggest a video about incorporating beloved but highly colorful or unusual furnishings into a modern scheme? Any suggestion from you will be cherished! Thanks for your wonderful content. Keep up the good work. 😍

Help! I love your videos and seeing the end result of your company’s design . However when redecorating I have to try and incorporate our furniture, our paintings, other pieces etc,. It’s not so easy when you do not actually have a blanc canvas. We have spent our lives travelling and acquiring different pieces. But at the same time I would like it to be more cohesive and coherant. And I need some colour? Is this a no solution problem?
