Ex-Erie Lackawanna Operator Phil Albano on duty. Would love to have seen this same video in the early 1970's when close to 100 moves often went past AC in 24 hrs!
Thanks for posting this. These are valuable records as the last of the towers go dark. The handful of towers that remain in 2023 are undoubtedly off-limits due to location, crime concerns, and security issues. As an aside, Mr. Albano could have enjoyed a career in radio broadcasting!
this is some of the most in depth dopamine inducing footage of big loud machines crawling throughout the night through industry areas with low pollution from the street lights, and it provides the best scene for someone to understand the true power of trains and how cool they were back then to see in low access areas that we could only dream of going! theres something about those big bold company logos on freight trains that just catches your eye and your excitement now everything is top tier and environmentally friendly, and ugly...and lame. and quiet too

Excellent. Railroading at night takes on a completely different feel.
Nice video! Very interesting to see what AC tower looked like inside it when it was in operation! Awesome!
Great footage from inside AC Tower. I always enjoy this kind of stuff most. 👍
Enjoy any tower interior scenes, audio makes it even better
Fascinating. The Marion, Ohio railroad experience - from the tower, at that - without having to drive there!
Great video showing operations and the tower.
Wish the signal bridges had been preserved. They added so much character to the place.
Thank you so much for posting this. It is a real treat to see a Conrail tower in operation and see what it once was like even at this late date.
In January of the next year AC Tower would close

Biggest catch comes at 5:07 with that BQ23-7. The Southern trailier at 7:29 would be a close second.
nice
Great catches
Man I love Marion Ohio with Conrail
Great footage, it's nice to see the world before night was ruined by LED lights.
