2021....classic Lindsey....what a throw back. Cheers me up every time. ❤️
Still a great tutorial 2024! 😊
Thanks, Lindsey! ❤
2022! And I'm back to see you again!!! "It's a video, why not?" "What the heck" haha The Hokey Pokey! Let's hear it for Glitter!!!!
I JUST LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!! LOL!! You're so much fun. I feel the same way about all things that shine and glitter.
Just finding your channel! I'm so happy I did, love crafts & you make amazing videos!!
I just love all your ideas!!!
She gives off Miss. Frizzel vibes and I’m here for it
Too cute Lindsay. You are awesome! TFS! Love your energy!
Quasi vintage Lindsay = Terrific Smiles, Coffee Speed Commentary and Great Tips LOL!
+Tina Kloepfer :)
😁😁 I love your energy 🌷🌹
Thank you. Lindsay. I make hundreds of cards and tags and such as part of my outreach to the elderly and deliver them to the nursing home in Poplarville, MS so I use a lot of this.
So glad that you found your caffeine fix! ;) Thanks for showing another fantastic technique w/ the Future floor wax. I luckily have some b/c of using it to color PeralEX on images.
Hehe, I love this video. Makes me want to glitter my own boots.
Go, LINDSAY, Go!!!
Love this technique... Though it is a older one, it is still a goodie!
You are totally nuts.......and I LOVE it, you are too much fun, smart and funny how dynamic, I look forward to your vids.
I love your video...
BEAUTIFUL & SMART..
Thank you Lindsay for sharing this.
Basicly it is any clear, thin acrylic sealer. Waterbased polyurathane is similar. do they sell a acrylic floor wax in AU? You can even use a clear glue, as long as it is waterbased:) Experiment!
Black glitter Doc Martins along with your black and orange tutu ! How cool! You are such fun!
Julie
I just wiped down the booth with a wet town before re glittering. If it was a shiny or slick boot you will want to sand it first. The Future is an acrylic sealer, like mod, podge but thinner. it won't crack, after it was dry for added protection I used an oil based clear spray sealer to protect it further. Clear spray paint works. Get the cheap clear spray paint (97 cents at walmart) and it will be oil based:) The books are staying glittered very well, much better than the orginal!
I found your channel today and I'm having a blast learning more frugal ideas! Thanks so much for sharing. I'm heading to papermart now and hoping I can still be frugal! lol
Andy
your enthusiasm is exhilarating
You are so much fun .Thank You .
Crazy Happy Fun!!!! Love it!!! And I will try some of your crafting. I have to find the Future Wax too. Happy Happy Saturday Lindsay!!!
OMG Lindsay, I stumbled on this video I hadn't seen before (imagine that, one I hadn't watched) and how hilarious! You came on with that big old coffee mug that was full of glitter, but I swear you must have drank that whole big coffee mug full of coffee before this video! You were so full of energy, and all of the tons of comments that you wrote on the screen throughout, priceless! All I am saying, is give ink a chance...classic! Love it and love you and your videos
+Lisa Waitt thanks Lisa!
I came across this today... Your videos have come a long way in 3 years!
not sure, my girls LOVE glitter shoes and they usually flake off although they got canvas shoes from old navy this year that lastel well, maybe glitter sticks better to canvas than smoother faux leather materail?
Love ur joy and glitter.
I like what you did to the shoes! I think my daughter will like to put this on her shoes she wears to go to the Chiro (its like you have Scouts in the usa) Gonna show it to her in the morning for sure!!!!
this is fabulous! Thank you
Yay!! I Love Glitter!!
Got shoes and prepared canvas shoes that need glitter. Have Future from polymer days and all kinds of glitter, fabric paint, Pearl-Ex, etc. You're the best. Cool sugar skulls! Still love the canvas shoes I zendoodled on with a Micron, finishing them off with fabric protector. They are still a hit.
Do you think I’d be able to mix this up and put it in a water brush?
Does this floor wax/glitter painted on the sneakers flake off much after it's dried? I have pets and am concerned about that.
Thanks. Pretty cool workaround..
Glitter is amazing! :D
I adore your enthusiasm - you really put a smile on my face!! I already subscribe to your blog, but now off to subscribe to your RUclips channel too.
Love what you've done with the glitter, esp. the glitter paint - not sure if we can get that furniture wax here in the UK but I suppose any clear liquid wax would do? Those glitter boots are awesome - I'm nearly 60 years old and will never be too old to enjoy a bit of bling!

Omg. I click on this video and didn’t even recognize you. I did not know you did this for 9 years.
More like 12:)
Just curious if a shimmer acrylic paint and floor wax will work on paper too.......I think I'll try that too!
I can’t believe how you almost burned your hans off! Hmmmm... I haven’t heard you say that so much recently! Thanks for this oldie but goody.
Wow, that is a good deal. I was worried you did have coffee in that mug haha . But I love your energy and jokes so the more the better :)
Omg i lived that song hahahaha lmao im singing it since i heard you sing now lol
I did this with an old pair of sneakers hoping to give them new life. It came out beautifully with a few coats of the half and half mixture of black glitter and Pledge but, because they were old sneakers, they had that crease on the top part of the sneaker where the foot bends. And, after only one wearing, the glitter disappeared from the crease and, all that was left in the crease was a grey streak from the floor wax that now had no glitter there. Made them look shabby so, I'm assuming you'll want to do this on a new pair of kicks.
thanks for clarifing, LOL! If loving glitter is crazy I don't want to be sane:)
Thank you so much for the extra info & letting me know if the newly applied glitter job you did is "sticking"! I'm surprised you didn't have to remove any "sealant" the factory applied by wiping w/ either acetone or alcohol~ I guess they never sealed them & THAT'S why they were so janky before?
I ♡glitter and only .99. DEFINITELY BUYING!
a hair dryer is not hot enogh and it is too blowy. You can try melting the powder in your oven but you can get a cheap heat gun at Joanns or ACmoore for under $20, less if you use a coupon.
Very cool ... :) Thank you
Ohy gosh you are awesome!! I love your glitter it, just a little bit!!! Hey do you use the pledge future with glitter for shoe painting also?
I have but I think a thicker varnish is better
Will the glitter rub off of the leather? Do you need any type of sealant?
Hey crazy girl, you are hysterical. Waiting for the next vid. --debi--
can it be "zep" hardwood& laminate floor refinisher? my husband is a great deal older then I am and he says this will work but I'm still spectacle lol
Joanns, it is by Inkadinkado:) it was $1
If you don't want it to turn yellow use a professional gloss varnish by golden or liquitex. The floor shine will yellow over time.
So fUN !
I seen a video using that floor wax to make embossing powder

Questions on glittering boots:1. Do you recommend "prepping" boots by removing "stain protectant/selants" if using a pair of "plain" boots? 2. I've only heard of using mod podge or other glue types for mixing with glitter to apply the glitter. THEN I just heard to use the Pledge for SEALING. How well does the floor wax/glitter combo stay on without using mod podge or acrylic paint mixed in? Also did the glitter crack/peel AGAIN after wearing? Thanks!
That will be a major factor for me if that's the case because the types of shoes (boots) that I'd be glamming up are NOT canvas material. I will "strip" them of their sealers but wonder if I need to sand them also? It'll be awhile before I have time to give it a go... wish me luck!
Can you say the name of the tint you used...I could not understand it.
Could you Mix pressed eye-shadow (that has been Powdered) with future floor wax to make paint to use on canvas?
Probably but maybe medium or gel medium would be better
@@thefrugalcrafter THANX!
I love your videos! I have an old pair of Crocs.....wonder if I could paint them with glitter paint? They are kinda grungy looking.....not in a good way! Lol
Cute red demons!! (On your scrap paper) Dodge City (KS) HS mascot!! My granddaughter attends there!
okay so the video is now working and I have a problem.. I cannot find pledge future floor shine ANYWHERE!!! what else could I use instead? please help me out because I need to glitter it just a little bit ;) no really I saw this video about 2 months ago and have been wanting to do my own Dr. martins but haven't been able to find the pledge future floor shine.. thank you for listening --- kelsea k
could I use Dr ?'s india ink as the colorant?
Lindsay, Where did you get the little jars with the black lids? They look like they could be used for everything from seed beads to a lot of your dyi projects like metallic paints, this glitter project and other things. Maybe you should do a bunch of tutorials featuring a different project in each with these little containers, LOL. I would like to know where to get some, please. Thanks
+Deirdre Powers papermart, link is in the video discription:)
+thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich Thanks! I found the glitter. If I wanted emerald green for my hummingbirds I had to buy a whole pound! Got a few nice colors, though, at the 99 cent price that I can use for some of the hummers. The little jars with the black tops have to be bought by the case for $191.00! Does anyone that you know of sell them individually? Thank you so much, Lindsay
+Deirdre Powers sorry: www.papermart.com/clear-black-lid-screw-top-jars/id=31220?origin=TheFrugalCrafter they come in a smaller quanitity of 24 for $12:)
love your positive energy!! What kind of marker was the yellow one, you used it on the background?
i have heard that is you store your glue pad upsidedown it will work better, same thing with ink pads
Thanks for the tip about Future and glitter. A question...is this washable after it dries? I'm thinking of putting some glam on a tee shirt.
BTW, it's now June, 2016 (4 years after you did this helpful video) and they changed the label once AGAIN. It's now called: "Pledge Floor Care Finish" with the word "Future" nowhere to be found. I almost didn't buy it today because I wasn't sure if it was the Future formula because of the even NEWER label but, I took the chance anyway. I went to Amazon after I got home and a customer confirmed that this newer bottle is also the old "Future" so yay! Can't wait to do my sneakers. Yours came out beautiful!
I want to add glitter to my tulle canopy, without making it stiff or tacky what do you suggest?
you can buy a glitter spray

Hi love all your tutorials, they are so much fun and I'm frugal like you so your tutorials are fantastic for me lol. I wanted to ask where would I get that polish as I'm in the uk. I have found some that I think is tight it's just different packing. Can you plz let me know what the polish is called and what its for. As if found pledge revive it floor gloss. Thank you so very much in advance xxx
It meant for polishing floors. I think it was bought out by pledge.
Lindsay, I noticed that a couple of fans here could not find the pledge future floor wax, and neither could I. I tried Walmart, but no luck. What stores should we all be looking in, and is it under a new name, perhaps?
+Deirdre Powers I think it is now just called Pledge floor wax
Oehhh I have that. Since I have an oak table I use it to clean that as well. Only my Pledge is yellowish? Can I use any brand?
Hi Lindsay, would any floor wax work? I don't think I can get Future anywhere in my country (Israel)? Also, would using a floor wax for glitter paint be safe for kids? Thanks for another great vid
Lindsay I love this idea but I live in Europe and we don't have Future. Can any clear floor wax be used? I have never seen a clear floor wax but maybe I haven't looked close enough. Any suggestions would be appreciated. You are so much fun to watch!
you just need a thin acrylic sealer, thats what the floor wax is
Love it. I love that stamp. When did you get it?
Prismacolor
I'd like to do this but I can't find that floor wax. Is there another option?
Minwax polycrylic clear gloss.
@@thefrugalcrafter thank you and I enjoy your enthusiasm during your videos. You have awesome ideas!
I'm wondering why not just paint on a layer of Elmer's glue then dump the glitter? instead of the glue pad - seems to work for me since it dries clear
can you use the hair spray from the pump bottle?
can you do that on a wall with the future? or should you use glue?
Glitter + paint = glitter paint
will the floor wax adhere to paper? I never knew that.
Yes. Its essentially thin acrylic sealer
@@thefrugalcrafter that is amazing! guess I am going to Lowes today! WOOOO HOOOOOO thanks for the tip can't wait to try!
Lindsay, Have you heard of something called sparkle glaze and how to make it? I saw one tutorial, but she talked so slow and kept saying things like "Use this, but I don't have it so I'm using this instead" on just about every ingredient. I think she used the same LA shimmering eye shadow from the dollar store as you used in making metallic paints. Do you have a tutorial on this?
+Deirdre Powers I have not heard of that, I'm sure you could use fine glitter or the eyeshadow for something similar:)
do the pledge seal it and protect it from rain?
How do you get your glitter paint to dry so fast or does it take overnight
It tries pretty fast
@@thefrugalcrafter okay thank you for letting me know
so we dont get future floor wax in Aust (that i know of) so are you able to share what I should be looking for to get the same effect please?
I can’t find this pledge future where is it sold?
Any ideas for alternatives to Future? I can’t seem to find it, even online, except in bulk 6-packs.
any think acrylic sealer like a water based floor sealer or mod podge thinned with water.
Hi Lindsay! What type of black paint did ya use for the boots? They look awesomeeeeeee!!! 😁
liquatex acrylic I think
When you put it on the shoes, is it waterproof?
mine was no chunky from dollrama was very fine in canada ;)
Where do you get the reink stuff at to add a little color
+arielbaby9832 use liquid watercolor or stamp pad reinket
+arielbaby9832 from any craft or art stote
Will it work with resin?
Yes, paint it on after curing.
Hi Lindsay! I have tried and tried to find the pledge future floor wax for soooo long and cannot! Although just now I found a pack of 6 bottles for over $100! Any help?? Thanks so much beautiful!
yikes! The old pedge/future is a thin acrylic sealer so look for that.
I have to wonder how Future (or whatever it's called this season ;) ) would work as a kind of glazing medium? MAD SCIENTIST TIME!!
+Evelyn Barney because it is a clear acrylic sealer
Ah - I should be more clear. I was actually asking you 'How would Future work as a glazing medium?"
Great TFS
lindsay, after searching 6 different stores i finally foung the floor wax!😒😒 i tried the glitter paint, but i think i did something wrong. the glitter all fell off when it dried! what did i do wrong!!!!?????
huh, maybe the changed the formula. You can try sealing on top with another coat or use a waterbased sealer. That did not happen to me.
LOL!! What a great tutorial!! I just found this this morning, duh! How did you know to use the floor wax? How in the world do you figure these things out?? I have a bottle of mop and glo, shine lock formula - would this stuff work? this video really made my morning!! thank you so much!! ;-)
+Christina Furner-Webber I am not sure about that brand, Future has been use as a clear sealer by clay artists for years.
Okay, thanks!!
the only pledge iv came across was called "pledge floor care"
kelsea kauffman I think that is it, they took the "future" off the bottle
That's it! I bought some at Walmart a couple years ago. That bottle will last forever :)
what is pledge exactly ?
Sierra0209 and
Hi, I love your videos. They're so informative and fun. There is something called, "Sparkle Medium" by Imagination Crafts. There are a few RUclips videos using it on acetate and it's really cool. Unfortunately, no one in the U.S. carries it. ImaginationCrafting has a video called, "Sparkle Medium on Acetate" which would give you an idea of what it is. I'd link it but I don't know how to. I'm wondering if it's something you could replicate. I sure hope so because I'd love to try the technique. Thanks a bunch.
the snide comments in writing added later are not necessary. I like your enthusiasm. most diy videos put me to sleep. Its ok to tell about mistakes, but putting yourself down constantly isn't really that funny. It takes away from your instructions. You're fine just the way you are. :-)
Sure wish they would date these videos...glitter now only sold by the pound at Papermart and cost is $8.00 per pound...who needs pounds and pounds of glitter???.........Love your enthusiasm!!!
Wow I forgot to date my own comment..November..2018 !!!
