I had to do both sides on my 2018 Taurus interceptor and it can be a pain taking out the leds lights to go back to the bulb ones. I just cut the connector off of the ones that was already cut and left the connector connected so it wouldn’t dry rott the plug. Unhooking the brown yellow and black wire connectors was the hard part. They took forever for them to disconnect. Also everyone make sure your Taurus comes with these optional connectors and sockets like mines.
You crack me up you're better than me dad. You tell them just quit boy you gotta hear me. I just don't tell Them to quit I tell them to do a lot of different other things.
I bought the sockets and bulbs from Amazon that you linked to and I have the new light wired and ready to go in, but I can not get the new socket to go in at all. I looked back at the end of your video and it looks like maybe you modified part of the new brown socket?
It's been a while since I filmed this video... I might have had to shave part down just a tiny bit with a dremel, if memory is correct there was something in the way, otherwise they would fit just fine
I think these were part of the police package so they can flash in patterns but also function for park/signal. I have never seen a police vehicle that was ordered with an led package leave alone higher trim level. Does yours have the full led tail lights?
when I was researching how to replace these, I reached out to Whelan with the part number asking why it didn't come up on their website. They said it was a custom part they built for Ford. Yes, they supposedly have wig wag features but since mine were all cut wires, I never tested to see what they could do - and when they decommissioned the car by cutting the wires, they probably shorted out the light - doing $458 damage in the process!
I’m pretty sure that is not standard lighting beings this car is police package equipment and these lights run almost constantly and that it’s why you are seeing that type of light.
in my quest to figure this out, I contacted Whelan with the part number since it wasn't on their website. They said it was a custom part they made for Ford. It was apparently on option on the police interceptors. But it's $458 per side! Versus $7 (bulb and socket) for my workaround
@@WJHandyDad It probably has another integrated color, most likely WHITE, that can be triggered. I saw on the Whelen LED that you dissected that there appeared to be two different colored diodes.
@@Guillotines_For_Globalists yes, I believe they have the full capability to be wig wag... don't know if they are white or red and blue or a combo though... never tried activating them
Unbelievable amount of work ...I going kiss my 2010 Crown Vic today.

I think I know why they make this such a pain in the neck to deal with and I don't like it
@@WJHandyDad yeap
Yet another reason why I’m glad I didn’t buy one of these cars instead of my Crown Victoria.
My 2015 Taurus POLICE passenger side front blinker is not working and it’s the same exact set up. Time to get started…
you should have it working in a short time

I have to keep it clean enough for YT :)

Note the fpis and fpiu are designed for police and law enforcement not civilians In mind
The government has a seemingly unlimited budget so that's why everything sold to the government is outrageously priced.
yep, we the taxpayers pay for it
@@WJHandyDad Oh yeah! They spend like treasonous drunken sailors.
It a police car why would think it going to be stock everything like the regular taurus
Look up you tube replacing taurus turn signal 2011-2015
We have bought and sold Taurus sedans for years now. Crazy to know they've been discontinued. Might be the new crypto.
my biggest complaint with the vehicle is lack of visibility to the rear. I haven't had issues with PTU or water pump, but those are on my radar
My 2014 police interceptor taurus has the left parking light out but turn signals all work seen this bet I'm fucked too gota do what you did !
probably have to either buy the police LED light or do what I did. I opted for this method and no regrets. I won't spend $500 for a turn signal bulb!
