Touch and words of affirmation. He gets very emotional when he's being "validated" for his talent or his sensitivy. He has spoken about not feeling worthy and about feeling disposable (his words) so I feel like he needs to hear that others understand what he's trying to communicate.

Everyone should check Robin’s performance in the 2003 comedy film ‘Camp’. At 18 you could already see the versatility and depth of his talent.

It's the last part for me, Andrews smile, and Robin is so incredibly proud of this. All of them singing boho days. This interview is an ode to their work and how proud they feel of each other. They're incredible.

I love Robin's answer at 6:00. It's so true, and he's so right. The AIDS crisis affected so many people but the stories that get told are so whitewashed and lots of people's perspectives are left out.
THAT scene with Robin (Michael) was GUT-WRENCHING. He was phenomenal in it, but wow, you will BAWL your eyes out. You feel every single emotion he is going through (Andrew's Jon as well but that entire scene was all about Robin's performance) and it tears you apart.

Had the great delight to work with Robin in a small professional theatre in New Milford, CT, back in the late 90s in "Sweeney Todd" (he was in the ensemble, I was the evil Judge). He seemed a bit shy then, but he was so talented. So wonderful to see the artist and man he's become! I can see his experiences have given him confidence. Haven't seen this film yet, but I know he'll be fabulous. Looking forward to what lies ahead for him...!

This interview shows just how much Robin De Jesus and Andrew Garfield put of themselves into this movie and just what this whole experience meant to them. Jonathan Larson is forever a part of them now. ❤️ the relationship between Robin and Andrew is so sweet and supportive- everyone should be so lucky to have a friend like this. (Also the time they are talking about Michael and his telling Jon about his diagnosis was such an incredible moment between them. 11:54-12:04 is probably my favorite moment of the whole interview ❤️)
