No, you're thinking the wrong Schlumberger. The company was founded by Conrad and Marcel Schlumberger. They were both educated in Paris and the Schlumberger company was founded in Paris. It moved to Houston due to WWII. Marcel died in Normandy, France. The only German connection was that they were born in Alsace-Lorraine which was controlled by Germany at that time.
