  • In this video, you will learn that there are two different methods of uploading your video creations to RUclips, the manual method and the Direct Method from within Power Director. There are some differences in the two techniques especially if your video includes any music tracks from Soundstripe.
And yes, this video was directly uploaded from within Power Director.

Hi, I really enjoy your channel and the relaxed way you present your videos.
I have tried several times to upload directly to RUclips with no success. However, I am able to go to RUclips and upload from the file location. I must be missing a step somewhere. I save my file, go to upload to RUclips and start the upload. I see the video is going through the producing process, then begins the upload to RUclips only to get a notification that the file cannot be uploaded. When I go to my RUclips channel it tells me the file is uploading and will be available shortly. However, the file never completes the upload. Then I delete the upload from RUclips then complete the file upload by using the RUclips upload.
I am new to Power Director and am still learning. So, any help you could give me would be much appreciated.
    Tom

I suspect that you are not letting PowerDirector handle the login to RUclips and the granting of access of your channel to PowerDirector which allows it to upload the video.
There have been some changes in the procedure since my video was posted. I believe some changes by RUclips and some by Google, and some more by Cyberlink. Thus, I have recreated this video and uploaded it again today. It is called video "#51a Update to Director Upload to RUclips". In this new video, I show the exact screen captures that I go through when I upload through PowerDirector. The important point in the video is that if you do not see the one Google window which says "Authorization Successful", then it means you did something wrong and the video will not be uploaded.
Watch the new video. It is just over 6 minutes long. See if any of this new info is of help.

Off topic for this video, but I am having a heck of a time making gifs. If I make them directly in powerdirector, they work in my files, but they freeze when I post them. If I make them in photodirector, it skips and duplicates the same frame over and over instead of using each frame selected. Have you tried making gifs?

It is not off topic because Power Director supports the import of .gif and animated .gif. It also supports the export of animated .gifs. So when you state you are making .gifs, I must assume you are trying create animated .gifs. I have just tried this procedure once again and uploaded the resultant .gif to my domain server and then addressed it using a browser. The animated .gif plays just fine.
Maybe you should review the procedure that I show in my video #20. Don't bother with the export of image sequence of jpgs or pngs because all it does is export all of the frames as a separate image.
You also didn't state which version of PowerDirector you are using. To my knowledge, the export of animated .gifs didn't start until version 21. The current version is 22 (but they call it 2024 for marketing and sales purposes).

@@Baldy-1 Sorry, yes, I was trying to do and animated gif, I am using PD 365. Let me watch the video again, but maybe it is not working because I don't have a domain server or know how to use a browser to play it? I am trying to use them directly in a 3rd party app. I have also tried the method they have a tutorial for, which is to import it to photo director and had no luck there either, I would have to try the same clip minimum of 10 times to try to get one that halfway worked. Thank you very much, wish me luck!

I suspect its your 3rd party app that can't handle animated gifs.
You don't need any special domain or browser to view your creation. Just right click on the file, select "Open With...", and then select your web browser.
Here is a quick means of creating a simple animated gif just to make sure everything is working properly on your system. In Power Director, click on "Use sample media" in the library window when PD first starts.
Then drag down any of the .MP4 sample files down to the timeline. They are only 10 seconds long.
      Click on Export.
Under Image Settings, make sure to choose "Animated GIF" as the format. The resolution and frame rate are up to you.
      Click on Export.
When the rendering is complete, click on Open File Location at the bottom.
Right click on the file, and use Open With using a web browser, or other apps such as Photos, Photos Legacy, or even Windows Media Player.
