He played last night with his wife at my school, VCU, and held a masterclass for us piano majors this morning! He really is such a wonderful musician and person

Great playing! One of the great pianists ever. One of the great musicians ever. And yet so human. He makes the piano sing, sob.

I love how "Cheesus" said "that's not what Chopin wanted," since I'm sure he so personally knows what Chopin precisely intended for this piece.

I don't understand why Leon Fleisher developed focal destonia, his playing is so sublime, solid, fluid and sensational. Fleisher is one of the greatest pianists of the 20th and 21st centuries. He doesn't look tense at all when he plays, his body looks so well coordinated and the arm motion seems so loose.

Reading his book "my nine lives" you hear the other side of the story... He was not ready for this come back at all, his hand hurt as hell and was not cured. He had to give everything he had to play the concert because there were so many expectations and cancelling was not an option. What a man!

wonderful! leon fleisher is a phantastic pianist. my teacher told me that he was toghether with him a juror of rubinstein competition in telaviv. one of his student performend prokoffiev toccata faster and louder than anybody else (probably world record). that's why leon fleisher asked my professor: "Why does he hate his mother?"

and . . . not to be forgotten : Gould in Bach (very original) , Scriabin at the piano himself , Horowitz with Rachmaninov live , Feuermann in Schubert , the duo Menuhin-Flesch , erotica-Schwarzkopf , Furtwängler nazi time , Dinu Lipatti everytime , the tight jeans of Lola Astanova , S.Richter in Schubert and Prokoviev , Rosa Tamarkina (I cry every time) , and last but not least : Joseph Hassid in his only 6 recordings of mini-pieces , and ARTUR SCHNABEL , the utterly ultimate pianist .

    1) SEXY!!
    2) Even if you are a Chopin scholar with multiple PhD's, don't pretend you know him personally enough to speak on his behalf. it's ridiculous. there are many traditions of performance practice and enough choices to make in the name of historical accuracy to satisfy every palate. Leon does not play to please you, specifically
