Sara! Look what I just watched! I'm into junk journals now and YOU were the one that started me down this rabbit hole! Mini albums quickly led to running into junk journals. I still want to make this one. I never did. I have been buying for years now! WAY more collecting than crafting. I'm not proud of that, but it is what it is. I just can't get over this was SIX YEARS AGO! Please keep making videos! They are SO helpful for me for some reason and I know they are for many others too. I think it's just picking up the vibes from your joy. Thanks again, for all those videos! ❤
I really love your choice of papers, ribbons, lace, bling, etc.! And you do beautiful work! I'm glad you could show all the different sizes you've made - each one is prettier than the last. Thanks for sharing these beauties and your talent!
I absolutely love that little mini. Sometimes I get wore out making the bigger ones but when I saw that little mini one, it's sooo cute. And I really like how you decorated it as well. Thanks so much for sharing those. Great work.
You never fail to inspire me. I am new to art and paper type craft I followed the family tradition of embroidery then quilting and now at 70 I am going to have a go at this mini envelope journal for my grand daughter Maddie and it's all because of you. I love the way you put colours together. I am doing the mixed media morsels with cat hand but I need something more challenging. Thank you a thousand times 🤗
Well, you weren't the last person to discover Kathy. Your video helped me find her. Your albums are beautiful now you have directed me to the master. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work. :)
I have both these paper stacks and wow, your albums are just gorgeous and I've never seen this type of construction and you explained it so easily….thanks so much!!! New subbie for sure!!!
Someone recommended your channel to me today and I'm so glad because I'd not been here before. i love each of your books and the different sizes, I especially like the idea of the little book. I could use up a lot of my loose papers making some of those to have on hand for gifts. Patti
Nice job on these! That Once Upon A Time paper stack was magical. Every now and again, one comes out that really hits a vibe that you don’t get with paper packs, as beautiful as they are.
Sarah, I absolutely love all of these albums. I'm very excited ti try this style. Wonderful job! Thank you for sharing. Looking now for your tutorial. :)
I just keep finding more videos from you! These little albums are so beautiful! I've tried some of Kathy's tutorials in the past and they were very difficult to follow, don't think I ever finished a single project. I'd love to try these though. You always inspire.
Thank you for explaining how you did the construction. I have been having a hard time finding the tutorials on how to make these types of books. You made it real easy peezy! :D
Hi! New subbie here! I am a Kathy Orta fan as well! I love to make this mini as well. Gurrrrl....loooove the teeny, tiny version of this book. Thanks for the inspiration!
This is so-o-o wonderful, great and professional! I concur your paper choice is outstanding and love the fact you aloud the paper to show itself...don't think i can make my look like this however someday soon i will try this ...thank you
Hi Angela. Whenever I mat anything, all I do is make the mat paper 1/4 of an inch smaller. So if the page is 5x7, the mat would be 4 3/4x 6 3/4. That gives you 1/8 of an inch all the way around. Sometimes it's not exact. As long as there is about 1/8" of room or about all the way around that's good. I call it a smidge of room. Let me know if u still need help, TFW, sara
Ivana. The tyvek comes in office envelope size at staples. There used to be a tutorial on Kathy Orta s RUclips channel, but she may have taken it down. Her blog is the paper phenomenon and she charges for her video tutorials there. I'm not sure if I can do a tutorial on her technique. I can but I don't want to get in trouble.
Went to Micheal's and bought Priscilla. I didn't see any faces just the girls. I will be watching your videos cuz I want to make a mini album. They are so beautiful.
Sandra Pena hi Sandra. Do a search for envelope mini album tutorial. I think I did one but it was years ago. I loved these and I sold them both. Have fun. Sara
The binding is made from card stock hinges that are attached from page to page. Those are supported by tyvek, which is a very strong paper like material that is used as a vapor barrier in home construction. Lastly you use 3 strips of duck tape as the actual book binding. I think with normal book use it will be fine.
If I didn't say it before, your albums are really beautiful. Your embellishments are very creative and the book is elegant looking front to back. I've only made one (only because I happened upon KO's tutorial on youtube). It was a very good first attempt, but now I want to make them for my daughter and daughter-in-law, and thought that the Once Upon a Time stack would be perfect for them. Where in NJ do you sell your albums? I'm a NJ girl myself
Hi I really love your albums I was wondering do you have a tutorial cause I cant find the original video from Kathy Orta that show how to do the rest like the pockets ext. thanks 😊👋🏻
Hi Sara: Another question for you: What size chipboard did you use for the "Once Upon a Time" mini album? I started watching your youtube on the baby album where you cut your chipboard to 5 1/2 x 7 1/2. So I followed those directions and made a 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 cover and back. KO cut her chipboard at 5 1/2 X 8 3/4. I followed her youtube tutorial when I made my first envelope album but found after assembling it that 8 3/4 seemed to be a bit too long. So do you thing that the 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 size chipboard will be large enough for the Once Upon a time?? Thanks for all of your help. Marianne
Hi I like your video I like the paper pad I have that one and now I’m going to make with it. I was wondering if you can share with me what corner punch you used if you can remember thanks 😊👋🏻
Hi Sara, I love your books!!! So beautiful. I'm actually working on my 1st envelope album now. What is your paper measurements when you mat the cards? Kathy said 6 x 4 3/4. When I cut that measurement, its clearly too small for the card. But it looks fine on her tutorial. Im using exact same as hers. 7 1/4 x 5 1/4 envelopes, with 7 x 5 cards. Please help me out, I've watched her video 4-5x and I'm not misunderstanding her measurements lol. I greatly appreciate your help. Thanks so much! Angie
Hi Sara I just fell in love with your albums. From your paper selections to your construction.. Beautiful!! I would be love to know what you charged for them at the craft show? And did you sell alot of them? TFS Bev
Ollie1217 Hi Bev, I think I sold them for 20$ and I sold all the ones I brought. As you know they are a lot of work so I only brought a few. I haven't been making mini albums lately because I never put pictures in them and use them. I just really love to play with the paper. TFW, Sara
You have done a beautiful job on your mini albums!! There is so much going on there it would take me forever to make something that beautiful! I have been sitting here for going on 5 days now making (attempting!!!) my first book , not like yours...using the envelopes, but that will be my next endeavor, but I just bought some chipboard and duct taped the hinge. Now I need to get on that binding technique!!! But you have just out done yourself here! They are both so beautiful. And thank you so much for explaining how to put the envelopes together! So......when I see all these albums with the black paper.backgrounds....those are envelopes?? Or do you buy that photo paper and cut it to size?? I am just having a really hard time here trying to figure all this out! And I see one of yours has gold colored background paper. I am so confused!! But I am so excited to make use of all my pretty stuff I have been buying lately!!! I just can't make up my mind when I am trying to choose something! lol I am afraid I will ruin something. Well, I HAVE done that plenty of times.! Grrr. o_O Well, I just hope (someday...lol) when I finish mine it will be half as pretty as yours!!! And I agree that this paper is just so pretty but placement is everything and yu have done a great job! I just love yours!! Thanks so much for showing us . Take care~ OHMIGOSH!!!! look at the little tiny one!!! With the Eiffel Tower!! I adore that one!! (I always stop the video to type cuz otherwise I'll forget what I wanted to say! lol) That is so dang cute!! Thanks again and have a great day~
Hi Jill. I just put up a tutorial on how to do this album. I made a baby album for my niece. It may help. Thanx for watching and I may have to make another one of these though because I sold them both. TFW , sara
myserenitycrafts Ok great! I will look for it cuz I really want to learn. Thank you so much for your help. Also, I might have seen your baby book earlier today. I saw someone's anyways. It was absolutely gorgeous. Old fashioned beautiful baby papers! I 'm pretty sure it was yours. (I've had quite a day today!! o_O ) Well I don't doubt that your lovely books sold. They were so pretty! I am getting the impression that you are pretty big in this community of crafters! ;) I am pleased to know you! Now I will go back to YT and find some of your vids. I can't figure out this Google+! Thanks again for all your help. Have a lovely Easter. ~Jill
I just subscribed. I love the papers! I love the idea of these. . I have never made one. You made me feel I can make one too! TFS! Where did you get the Once upon a time paper?
They are beautiful! Love them for real! What size pictures does the little one use? I will have to go check out Kathy Ortiz! I have so many weddings coming up as well as babies being born! TFS!
Sarah, my 6yr old Grandbaby and I loved watching this video yesterday, thank you. I have a question. What is the formula for determining the size of your pattern paper based on the size of envelopes used? Meaning, do you just reduce your length and width by a quarter inch or so? How do YOU do it? Thanks again for the great video.
Hi Monica. Yep. That's how I do it. I actually did a tutorial on a baby mini album if you want to check that out. I think I reduce the paper 1/4 inch on 2 sides to get an 8 th all the way around. It's been a while since I've made a mini. TFW, Sara
Hello. I just found you by accident, which I love. And I know this is an older video. But do you have the tutorial on the mini album you made? I would like to make it for my daughters wedding for gift favors.
Hello Sara, wanted to find out how you determine the size of your chipboard covers. Do you allow a certain # of inches from the top and sides of your pages?
Alexandria MoonStar Hi Alex, When making mini albums, I have never sealed the paper with anything. There are so many techniques, like with mixed media, that you may , but generally there is no need when making a mini album. TFW, Sara
Sara: What did you use to put the eyelet into tieback and front covers.? Also, I made the KO envelope album since she had a video series on youtube (5/ 1/4 X 7 1/4 envelopes and 5x7 cards) The cutting directions for the paper did not work out very well, though, but I managed to finish the album How did you figure out how to cut the pattered paper for the tiny albums you show in the video? For instance for the small album you showed in this video, how did you know how to cut the paper for the envelopes and cards? Would like to have your suggestions. Thanks.
Andrea Dallow Hi Andrea, You can go to my channel and click videos and scroll down until you see, Baby Mini Album Tutorial, Kathy Orta style. TFW, Sara
Hi I have been trying to fallow your tutorial but once you got to doing the binding hinges it got cut off. I couldn’t find the rest of the video can you please help me and let me know if there is one. I would like to finish my mini album thank you 😊👋🏻
what is the name of the paper collection for the album with the butterfly on the front? And also, how did you make notches on the pockets? Did you use a special punch? One more thing, I have purchased the once upon a time stack and I would like to follow your pages. How did you cut your paper so that the words and designs follow each other from page to page for instance the inside front cover and the first page "Far, far Away. If you follow Kathy's way of cutting the patterned paper, I don't think you can get the papers to match up from page to page. Did you custom cut for each page so that one page would continue to the next? I appreciate any tips you can give me - Marianne
Marianne Petralia Hi Marianne, The butterfly paper is called DCWV Mariposa Stack. I used a circle punch to make the notches, just go half way. I cut the patterned paper for each page the way I wanted it. I do one craft show a year at the Cologne Fire house and I just bring whatever I have made that year. I haven't been making Mini albums lately because there are so many new things I want to try. Have fun, TFW, Sara
Hi Sara, You showed a real miniature album made from envelopes and also in your reply to me said that the tutorial was on youtube. Cant find it, so could you send me the URL for it? How do you figure out the size of your patterned paper when you go from one size envelope to another? For instance, Mikes has envelopes that are 5 x 6.5 and Kathy said she used 5 x 7 envelopes.
Sara! Look what I just watched! I'm into junk journals now and YOU were the one that started me down this rabbit hole! Mini albums quickly led to running into junk journals. Sarah, my 6yr old Grandbaby and I loved watching this video yesterday, thank you. I have a question. There is "tons of real estate". That's what Kathy says! LOL!
Hi love your work. I am new to this craft and was wondering if you seal the paper with anything once you stick it to the card stock?
Alexandria MoonStar Hi Alex, When making mini albums, I have never sealed the paper with anything. There are so many techniques, like with mixed media, that you may , but generally there is no need when making a mini album. TFW, Sara

what is the name of the paper collection for the album with the butterfly on the front?
