We had a dear friend pass last week. She was into food storage big time. Her son is here from Utah and leaving Wed. He call 2 of us to come in and clean her freezer and refrigerator out. He gave us the contents!! I came home with a large tote of meat and freezer meals!! Both my freezers are full!! A tremendous savings to keep our cash!! Ready to start canning homemade vegetable soup and chili ! Will miss our friend deeply, and most thankful for the gift of her prepping. ❤ prepping.

I will forever remember one early morning at dawn, mist on the pasture, my Uncle Les waking my cousin Michael and me up. He led us out to the back pasture just in time to watch Daisy ( my favorite cow) drop her little calf. The warm little wet body with steam rising from its tiny body. Momma began licking the little one as is began to stand up on wobbly legs. I was only 5 years old but it was a beautiful lesson for a young child. Thank you Patera your goodness is evident. Stay happy and well.

Good morning, Patera! Even labor and delivery for us women the hospital will send you home unless you meet their criteria of active labor. With my 4th daughter, my labor didn't start until around 9 pm. It went so fast, we left an hour later and I nearly had her in the car. She was born 11 min after I walked through the ER door in their hallway. You just never know what's ahead. So ya gotta roll with it.

This last weekend I harvested a gallon bag of green beans. This doesn't happen until August. My tomatoes are coming on including some that a colleague gave me. My dry beans are way ahead of schedule. My apples and pears are growing like crazy. As I give thanks to our God for His provision, He has shared some things. Pray fervently. Listen to His still small voice. Also, I live in the Great North West. Prayers being lifted up as the Lord shows us. Be safe out there.
I think we are ahead of schedule because God is telling us get ready stock up and be ready for what is to come.

I live on Vancouver Island. I can't fight back the morning glories this year. Next door, they have climbed into the 40 foot trees with blossoms the size of dinner plates and huge leaves. Extremely unusual.

Mine produced flowers when the plants themselves are only babies. Anyone notice that happening with flowers and/or their fruits and vegetables?
My experience with chickens and rabbits . 99 percent of the time they give birth or hatch eggs and the animals don't need any of our help.
God is preparing us for what is coming probably by fall. Making sure his children are fed

I’ve noticed all of these things too. My jaw dropped when I saw green persimmons in the ground weeks ago already! Blackberries long been done. The heat is like it’s August already. Time feels like it’s speeding up!!

Funny you say that….im on the east coast and I’ve noticed this summer that the sun is setting at 8:30 pm rather than the usual 9 or 9:30pm in the summer. Really weird!

Seasons are OFF. August dragonflies are out. Snakes acting like it’s Labor Day. Birds laying unusually out of time. Thick fur on critters. Butterflies a month early in migration. Bluebirds moved North a month early. Garden looks like Fall but we have had so much rain. Trees indicating a heavy nut harvest and early autumn. The evenings are cool despite high humidity and hot temps. I feel like we get one last week of heat and that’s all she wrote because Fall is coming on fast.
I don’t live on a farm so I know nothing & I certainly wouldn’t question a lady that absolutely loves her animals 👍🏻🇬🇧🇺🇸

Patara, I have noticed the sun isn't cycling in the same path as it used to. I've been in same condo for 10 years and in the last 2 years I've noticed it moving so I now get sun in my lanai (which NEVER) happened before). Now both some morning and late afternoon. It's coming up further north of East and going down north of West, where it used to.

3x tomato harvest. Peanuts are late in flowering. Sunflower heads are smaller than usual. There's something in the air, I can feel it. It feels like something big is coming, something ominous.
My sunflowers are really tall but very small heads. Same kind I have grown for years.

Patera you’re absolutely right about cows and goats having babies. I have literally had a a calf baby’s head partly out of the mom. The head went back inside mom and she ended up having the baby a few days later. A mama goat and cow can look like they are going to domino any minute and it takes them a few days. Also I have had goat babies still born. I have had 2 babies still born and we were there assisting mama give birth. Thank you for the shout out! We got your back! 🙌🏼

I've only delivered kittens, puppies and horses. Sometimes the momma waits until you LEAVE to 'let go.' Missed the 2nd foal my mare delivered even though I went out every hour on the hour with no sign of the foal when I left.

SC. Blackberries done too as of last week. Squash about done. Tomatoes loaded but none are red yet & I planted mine normal time, ITS TAKING SO LONG THIS YEAR TO TURN RED. I did notice everything seems to be running ahead of time except red tomatoes. Everything has come in faster & with abundance as if it’s a gift from god. PASSION FLOWER- mine bloomed early, growing like mad with flowers but haven’t seen fruits.
My grandpa told me to pick a tomato off of every other plant and it sends a signal to start turning. I do it every year, and always have them sooner than the neighbors. This year I did not do it, that was a mistake. So I think it works

My dad used to smoke Lucky Strikes when I was a little girl -- 4 packs a day. Then one day when I was about six he just put them down and never picked them up again. He passed last year at age 97-1/2. Sure do miss him 💜

I live in a suburb of a large city. This year, I have to lock my big dog inside at night. Have 6 ft privacy fence all around in backyard. I've seen all these animals coming in yard, possums, skunks, raccoons, even large owls, the other night, heard coyotes, and they were close!!!Why are they stalking my backyard?? There is no food or water out there, just my 50 lb. dog. This is very scary, don't want my dog hurt or killed. Kansas is no prize, but this is crazy.

Yep, my cow was in labor so I ran up to the house to get the molasses and warm water bucket and a sheet.... got back 7 min later and calf was here. Video on my channel
Here in eastern Oklahoma, the elderberries are almost done, I've got three ice cream buckets full to make jelly, we've made 14-8 oz. glasses of jelly already, going to make elderberry tincture and elderberry syrup, our muscadines are about to start getting ripe, our vines are loaded, our blackberries and raspberries are done here too, our apple tree is loaded and the apples are ripe. The Father has blessed us abundantly, Hallelujah!
Things happen fast sometimes. There is no perfect scenario. Adapt improvise and overcome.

This is so the truth. I cant tell you how many times Ive been on foal watch in a barn, went up to the house for a cup of coffee, came back, and theres a foal. I swear they wait until you're gone. Patara, foal cams have saved my life. Maybe a thought for future kiddings.
Our weather here in PA has been very hot and our storms strong. Sadly last week we had a really bad storm with strong winds and hail that totally destroyed my entire garden. My elderberry bush was loaded and it took all the berries off. Luckily I have syrup left from last year. Birds will have a harder time eating this fall without them. I think mother nature is feeling the energy going on in this country.. We lost part of our roof and damage in our yard. But no loss of life or houses totally taken so all can e replaced. Take care all and pray!
Friday, a well nourished maple leaf drifted by my window , landing on my lawn. It was bright yellow, just as it would be in October. The next day, two maple leaves, fully yellow landed on my lawn. July and the leaves are changing color. I have never witnessed this. So strange.

Ive lived on, or worked on livestock farms for most of my life. Mother nature has been doing her thing since creation. Sometimes it's best to just let mother nature work! You're doing a good job! City folk just don't understand.

Our winter was so mild in central VA, I harvested my garlic in April! My onions and potatoes were done in May. This has been such dry year for us. Very strange indeed!
