    Would you get the Prius Prime over the regular Prius or other hybrids? Let me know!

    • @paulm6481
      @paulm6481 Год назад +1

      I think the new Prius is the best hybrid over any hybrid. As for Prime, if money is no factor and you don’t mind waiting in line to get your hands on it then sure.

      Tuff choice . My personal issue is cost $5000 more than regular Prius. After electric range is depleted then go back to regular Prius ! Electric charge cost about the same . Ok if u got 22 cents per kWh .. instead of 40 cents per kWh … then it takes 5 years to recover the up cost difference . And electric charge takes 4 hours so .. can’t keep re charge

    It is unbelievable how good looking this thing is. To think this is a Prius. Inside and out they nailed it. It is faster and fuel efficient. Wow just wow. Too bad it is a little too low for me, in my younger days I owned a Toyota Matrix and this could have taken its place. Now my ride has to be a little higher and more meat on wheels. Otherwise a great vehicle and Great video as always Omar.

    Small correction: It will maintain enough charge in the battery to offer 220 hp at all times. Unless you insist on staying in EV mode or run out of gas.

      @@danrichman1 As a longtime Prius driver, I agree with @pdd. The tried and true Toyota hybrid system during HV operation will constantly charge and discharge the batter during driving, as power demand requires. The only time there will be a reduction of power at your foot is if the HYBRID portion of the battery is run low (which the system actively manages all the time) from an extended uphill climb, in which case your power may be reduced slightly until the system reaches conditions to recharge to a sufficient level - usually within a minute or two after the climb is complete. In fact, a long incline is really the only ACTIVE driving situation you will likely encounter this; or possibly if you are in stopped traffic for an extended time and your heat/cooling demands may have drawn the battery down low, which will eventually force the engine to recharge (or a minute or so of normal driving), but may be a bit more sluggish if you suddenly try to accelerate at that moment (which is unlikely if you are in an impromptu ‘parking lot’, lol). Another advantage of the plug-in enabled Prime models is if you foresee these situations in your drive, you can preserve some of he EV battery portion to mitigate these unlikely and brief reduced power situations. I haven’t driven a ‘23 yet, but I am sure the same mechanical principles apply.

    Well if you are a tall person like me it probably won’t be blocked by the steering wheel, but other than that, I like that placement better because in the old prius you had to look away from the word

    Awesome review. I really love the top trim AWD version of this car. Great MPG, doesn't look like ass! One question that I had though was this: can the car have the AC running without the engine being kicked on, i.e. can you plug this thing in and let it charge and have hot/cool air being blown into the cabin? In other plug-in hybrids I've tried that isn't the case, as the EV mode isn't a "true" EV mode like in my 2019 Ioniq Plug-in Hybrid. And I also love that they're giving people the options to drive this thing as hard as they want and make it fun to drive. That's what I like about electric cars: adding EV drive trains to vehicles can make them waaaaay more fun to drive.

    I love the Prius (I have 2 pre- 2023 models). However, these videos are pulling something here. They keep emphasizing power. This vehicle was designed to get good gas mileage not race on the streets. Check out the shortcomings in the 2023 model before you buy one. Let me know if you want to know the shortcomings.

    Yes. Remember electric is not free! It can cost almost the same price on electric and gas. At 39 miles electric only… battery 13.6 kWh. So 13.6 kWh x 40 cents per kWh is the cost of electric bill for each charge will be $5.44 ! That 39 miles range is like a gallon of fuel and the cost of gas is around this price .. ok more later but not much difference! And prime is $5000 more than regular on top .. worth it ?

    • @wyw201

      You can conduct a two factor sensitivity test of electricity price and gasoline price to find the breakeven point and payback period between plug-in and hybrid model.
