- Tim Burton's Corpse Bride cake. In this video I make a doll cake of the Corpse Bride from the Tim Burton movie 'Corpse Bride'. I have made this video for Halloween 2016. I use fondant and laped modelling paste in this video. You can find links to products used below, as well as a basic sponge cake recipe to get you started :)

Basic Victoria sponge cake recipe -
Ingredients:
225g butter
225g caster sugar
4 eggs
225g self-raising flour
1 tsp vanilla essence
Method:
Cream together the butter and sugar, then beat in the eggs and vanilla essence. Once smooth and creamy, fold in the flour.
Pour in to a greased cake tin and bake in the oven at 180degrees for approximately 40 minutes, until golden brown and a knife comes out clean.
Buttercream recipe -
600g icing sugar, sifted
300g unsalted or salted butter, softened
optional flavouring
Beat the ingredients together.
Chocolate ganache recipe -
- To make chocolate ganache you can simply melt chocolate with double cream in a glass bowl above a pan of boiling water ( I use the hob to heat the water, but be sure to turn this right down once the chocolate begins to melt so it doesn't burn). I use the ratio of 3 to 1 chocolate to double cream

Wow. I have watched baking and decorating videos numbering well into the hundreds, and this is the first in around 4/5 years that has really properly impressed me. This is actually way better than _any_ of the competitors I've seen on the Food Network here in North America, and your skills are better than the stars of shows such as Cake Boss and others. They attempt to make human figures and characters and it looks very bad and amateur.
To say that my jaw dropped to the ground seeing how perfect this was would be an understatement

This Emily doll is exquisite! Her face is prettier than ANY regular doll or cake that I have ever seen!
The people who dislike this are just jealous of your talents. I would like to see each of them do something worth wild. I am an artist and have done a few cakes years ago at 61. Equiptment and stuff has come a long way to do this. I wouldn't mind trying my hand at some of this later when I get the time. Building a house at present takes up time. A lot of art in it.

Diamond Blue. When I said duplication, it was an unfortunate choice of words. I apologize and no disrespect was intended. I totally agree...for one thing the ability to get the colors just right, the texture of the fondant, the proportions, the touch and feel of shaping is evidence of Zoe's talent and experience. That she can make it seem possible to a beginner like me to even wish to attempt the technique, is also a testiment to her ability to communicate as a teacher as well. Good teachers inspire. That's what I meant.

Seriously, if you made this out of polymer clay for icing and a tin foil instead of cake then it would sell faster than hot cakes! I'm diabetic so i cant have cakes, plus it would be eaten and such a work of art would kill me to destroy. but make it from Fimo and i'd SO buy it and so would others! maybe you could do a sideline of fimo versions of your cakes? art you can keep forever :)
