    Supposedly there is a quote by Henry Ford where he said, "If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." The quote is probably fake, but the lesson is 100% true: customers don't have a long term vision for your company (or your RUclips channel). It's up to us to take the risks and plot the long-term strategy for our channel.

    • @KevinChee

      Oh, I really like this quote and the message behind it. A businessman should know and have control of the direction of their own business. What about the saying 'Customer (audience) is always right' or 'Listen to your customers (audience)'? I feel like these 2 sayings contradicts one another.

      I guess everyone can interpret a thumbnail in a thousand ways. The majority of the viewers on RUclips are expecting MrBeast style thumbnails, but they are also the ones who wouldn't watch videos like mine either. It's just noise really, annoying noise. you are serving a purpose that viewers like, there will always be a few that reject and that's their choice. There will be many who don't focus on the actual message but focus on other things e.g lighting, thumbnail, editing because they are driven by the noise out there to perform and people please to get more clicks, views and forget the most important thing is the message, the niche, the speaking expertise! you stay authentic because authenticity wins. Getting too concerned of viewers comments leads to pivoting to please, becoming unhappy in your work and burnout - some of the most successful creators have admitted to this. - the most important opinion is your own - keep creating, you know what you are doing!👏🏼👏🏼💯💯👍🏼👍🏼

    I don’t watch videos where people put their face really big on the thumbnail with a fake surprised look or their mouth wide open… And I agree that I also do not click some nails where it appears as though what is inside the video might have a negative connotation. It just seems like social mediaand the marketing of it all is literally complaining it’s why you shouldn’t buy things or why you shouldn’t do something rather than why you should. And that culture is become very toxic. But in the case of your channel I actually watch your videos and what you have to say in your videos provides substance where as that is not the case in most places on RUclips.

    I don’t think I’m lucky enough to have noise comments lol, but I too have noticed that when some suggest I do something, it almost never works.
    I’ve come to the conclusion that the YT experience is actually unique for each or most creators: what works for one may not necessarily work for another (which, if true, kinda renders videos designed to help people on YT somewhat useless lol 😉)
    I also know bad news sells. It’s a pretty tragic facet of the species. I myself don’t do negative vids just for the sake of it - if I like something I’ll say that too, but so many thrive on negativity it’s kinda depressing. But what can you do, eh?
    Love you vids - even if the thumbnails are negative 😉

      Thanks, I don't even know what's negative or positive thumbnails anymore, I just do whatever comes to mind these days! But you're absolutely right, to succeed on YT, or any business in general, requires creativity. Things that no one thought of, things that are new and fresh. Hence, listening to suggestion may not get us there, we have to think of new ways ourselves to intrigue viewers.

So why do MacDonals make chicken burgers, fish burgers and burgers with bacon? They know that relying on a single product could become a bit vanilla - and the feedback becomes predictable. Just noise. But offering a seasonal special like a Big Mac Triple for the Eurocup Football and the feedback has the regulars commenting back and buying more. The brand increases its position as the premier fast food. I guess the customers don't always know what they want in the end. Hope my ramblings make some sense. Since some people always wantes to make suggestions or request certain videos, when I created my RUclips Membership, submitting requests is one of the perks. Many YT channels cover the same topics, and viewers will favor one channel over another…. YT is hard. Creator newbies struggle to learn. Starting a new channel is a journey into the unknown, and personal insecurities (of the creators) are exposed. People often are unrealistic, unprepared, or believe too much hype to think all results relate to them. I’m surprised how often people blame YT for their disappointing channel results (even saying YT is purposely causing their channel growth problems). Meanwhile , your channel has been accurately covering the challenges of starting a channel. It’s not negative-it’s reality-and normal to have issues. Your viewers want guidance, information and perhaps some comfort (that you understand and sympathize)…. Sometimes, a viewer makes a helpful comment. But they don’t really know you, your skills/equipment, available time, and your audience. There is a lot of hype to buy technology to solve problems when that often doesn’t apply. You are doing well. Your channel is growing, you have good content, and you are not posing with hype and click bait. That is awesome.

      yeah. I think everything on RUclips is a matter of perspective. What sort of thumbnail I like may not be what you like, is a matter of preference. I always say things from my point of view and experience, hence, it is always 'to me'. People get offended when I say things as though they are fact.
      But then again, channels who are saying things as though they are facts tend to get more views and subs too so who knows what's right or wrong here 😑. Maybe RUclips algorithm likes a good discussion.

    I find the people are attracted to failure or negative videos , the comments are normally toxic and unhelpful, but the audience likes drama not success stories, I’m guessing more relate to failing than success stories. RUclips is Hard for most and a few make it look simple. I have to say the title is what made me click this one not really the thumbnail, that said had it been another creators face I probably wouldn’t have clicked on it.

      you're right, people relate to failing more than successes. I think when it comes to growing a channel, creating a compelling title and thumbnail is what attracts new audiences and get a chance to get new subscribers. It is not always easy I'm afraid.

    Charlie (penguinz0) is a channel based off current events, particularly from the internet. As one of the OG RUclipsrs, his channel centres on his own opinion on current matters, although he originated as a gaming channel. You can group him with Asmongold or SomeOrdinaryGamers (low quality production + mostly talking head).
    His content revolves around his practical perspective on certain hot topics - more like a voice of his community. Techlead was brought because he was abusing the copyright strike system on anyone who talks about his previous scams (mostly smaller channels).
    And yeah, whilst from an outsider, some of his content may seem negative.. to his community, he is voicing out what they think is right.
    Just want to give my 2 cents here, for context. 😉

    • @KevinChee
      @KevinChee  2 месяца назад +1

      Asmongold is a funny dude though, I kinda thing there's a method in ranting about others but not actually look like you're ranting. It's like an art lol.. But it's good to hear that a gaming channel can actually evolve into a whole different channel without starting a new channel.

    • @OverseerPC-Hardware
      @OverseerPC-Hardware 2 месяца назад

      @@KevinChee Asmongold started from gaming as well (WoW I think), which pivoted to similar variety/streaming content - I see him as more of a nerdy content creator, he has some good points but sometimes do have topics out of his league. Mutahar (SomeOrdinaryGamers) also started from gaming, and pivoted to variety talking head content - he has more technical knowledge (Linux etc). And Charlie, of the three, is your masculine type with similar content, doesn't back down and really blunt though smart.
      All of these OG channels tend to captivate audience which they see themselves with similar views/personalities. I usually listen to different perspectives (including these 3), before I form my own opinion on certain topics. 😉

      @@KevinChee Kevin...the connotation is intended. When there are inexperienced talking heads yammering about things they have no business discussing.....the term "rubbish" helps folks understand that there could be misrepresentations, misinformation and people more interested "views" than sincere free guidance.
