I was a paperboy during that period and everyday while walking to my route I'd pull out one of the papers and read the sports section. I was between 10 and 12 during that time and god, those Huskies teams gave me my first sense of pride in being a Washintonian.
We sat in lower level South Side. Loudest game ever, even louder than night game here against Nebraska in 1992. During the 4th quarter, the USC band leader kept trying to play conquest, and the fans booed him down, where with 10 minutes left in the game, he finally shrugged his shoulders and sat down.
Sat in the upper level south side over the lake end zone. It was an awesome beatdown! I remember during USC's warmups on the field, they and the coaches acted so arrogant like it was just a walk in the park, and no real challenge to win. Their warm ups were sloppy and casual. You can tell when a team is all business, and they weren't. Instead, they got the business!
At that game, south side 30 yard line. Very hot, and very loud. Washington punished SC so much that they gave up in the 4th quarter. SC Band leader kept trying to get their mojo back by playing "Conquest". Dawg fans would have none of it, booed the SC band, until the band leader shrugged his hands and shoulder in submission, gave up and sat down.
Now we have Don James 2.0. For DeBoer to take a 4-8 team to 24-2 is absolutely special. 20 game win streak. 13-0 champions in the last season of the PAC 12. 2 top 8 wins. 4 currently ranked top 21 wins. 5 wins over 8+ win p5 opponents (as well as Boise State the Mountain West Conference Champions). CFP. This coach might be really special.

We were at that game - exceptional game with an exceptional team. I think that UW team was one of the best college football teams in history.

First time I've ever seen highlights of this game (I was overseas at the time). Man, they MAULED USC that day.
I was shocked when the score was. on the news. Washington would win the Pac 10 conference & the Rose Bowl ,while USC reign went into diminution.
Man the Huskies were some damm fun to watch from 1990-1992 (till Hobert got kicked off the team)
