also this is a really clear and helpful tutorial , I like that you go through how to capture different kinds of eyes instead of just going "eyes look like this" cuz I always thought eye shape is such a simple way to shake up same face
I've been looking for tips to draw 3/4 eyes for A LONG time now. And honestly? This video is the only one that has actually helped me. * Inserts 1000 kudos*
This IS the most comprehensive tutorial on the internet for drawing eyes. You single handedly taught me everything I couldn't quite get on my own. Thank you very much. Addendum: I also appreciate you crediting your background music.
This is like the best eye tutorial I've ever seen everyone makes it so complicated that you got to draw the eyeball and then draw the eyelid over the eyeball I never do that. I've seen like people draw and they never do that either
You're really good at making tutorials! This helped me a lot understand how to draw eyes now. I think it would be interesting for you to also explain your journey from Paint Tool Sai to Photoshop. Keep up the amazing work!
As an optician's daughter: this video pleases me greatly. So much good information! Also, if anyone was curious, the white of the eye is called the sclera (plural sclerae) and the transparent "shell" that covers the front of the eye is called the cornea! :D
My only complain with this tutorial is that the iris isn't actually raised, what you mean (and showed in the pic) is the cornea (and the sclera curving with the cornea). But good tutorial nonetheless
This is geniually the most helpful tutorial I've ever seen, the only one that actually works for me. Nothing extremely complicated but it's also not simple, exactly what I needed Such a underrated blessing, earned a new sub😭
Do you think you can do a tutorial of the basic proportions of a human head? This tutorial was really helpful and showed how I could improve in some of my previous pieces!
This is a really good video for like, intermediate artists who have some basic knowledge but need a little help understanding and visualizing how the objects we draw work together and go together in space. Really helpful dude!
i love this!! its really helpful and kinda refreshes a lot of things that are easy to forget and you cover a lot of lil tricks and tips that are super helpful. eyes are something i struggle with a lot as far as varying them and this makes me want to try and get better at that. im also super excited to see the shading tutorial for these!
I've had this in my watch later foreverrrr, and I finally gave myself time to sit down and watch this- and i gotta sayy thank you so much for this video!! I doodled a small guide in my sketckbook and I learned a lot more than I was expectingg!
"pretty much everyone knows the parts of the eye; the white part of the eye, the iris and the pupil [...]" The sclera: Am I a joke to you djkfdrg I haven't watched your videos in a long ass time and god you've improved so much, I remember watching the old version of the eye tutorial when it came out
thanks for sticking around!! id like to say i said "white" instead of "sclera" to make the video more accessible, but its really because i dont know how to pronounce it u_u
Great tutorial! It included different types of so many small things that tend to get overlooked, and this video definitely had a lot of "ah-ha" moments for me, especially for how to work with the eyebrows in different angles.
Haven't been drawing (and it shows) so I thought I'd go back to basics, this video was really helpful! You were really clear, and the tip about the lines make a lot of sense. Thanks!! ^~^
*you had me at eye bags* in all seriousness though, this is a GREAT video qvq i feel like i've been having trouble w eye variety lately so this whole tutorial is SUPER helpful
If the face was being drawn facing to the right like at 14:30 wouldn't the eyes be further to the left since the eyes are usually sunk further back into the eye sockets instead of resting right on the face? This was a bit confusing for me. Great video btw, really helpful!
nothin wrong with a little copy paste sometimes. if u dont redraw the irises separately after u paste it can look a little artificial, but if youre going for exact symmetry and struggling with it then go for it imo, thats what symmetry tools and copy/paste are there for
This has to be one of the best eye drawing tutorials on RUclips.
oh wow, thank you so much!!!
7:21
eye've
yes, I stopped right there while watching just to make the unintentional pun I noticed
Oh, so that's what they mean when they say the smile doesn't reach the eyes.

Please do more tutorials! You explain concepts more concretely and usefully than anyone on RUclips!
I feel like the Gordon Ramsey of art tutorials.
FINALLY, A GOOD EYE TUTORIAL! tbh I struggle most with eyes, so this will help me a ton :3

This helped a lot. It’s been a while since I learned about the eye, this is a great refresh!
Thank you!!!! Sososososo much!!!! This was really helpful!
My only complain with this tutorial is that the iris isn't actually raised, what you mean (and showed in the pic) is the cornea (and the sclera curving with the cornea).
But good tutorial nonetheless
good point! the iris isnt raised at all, technically the opposite since it sinks back into the eye. didn't really think about it while i was talking
This is the best eye tutorial a have seen.
Man your so underrated this tutorial deserves more! Thank you for lessening my frustations with eyes
This is.
This is the video I been looking for for so long. I absolutely adore you now.

0:36 it’s actually called a “lacrimal carunkle”, it’s one of my favourite words! :)

This is a really good video for like, intermediate artists who have some basic knowledge but need a little help understanding and visualizing how the objects we draw work together and go together in space. Really helpful dude!
You draw really good with a mouse!

Very very helpful tutorial. Could you please also make a second part, drawing extrem angles?
After watching angle ganev, adding this make it's somehow refreshing. Helps me simplify things a little bit
I've had this in my watch later foreverrrr, and I finally gave myself time to sit down and watch this- and i gotta sayy thank you so much for this video!! I doodled a small guide in my sketckbook and I learned a lot more than I was expectingg!
