May be a lot of unnecessary steps. Disconnect battery (not necessary to remove). 4 nuts up top of dash and the torque bolts on the sides should allow you to remove the dash. I do not think you have to remove speaker covers or radio bezel. Remove cover under steering wheel and 2 bolts to drop the steering wheel (should not be necessary to remove. Put it in Drive (automatic trans). Pull back the dash as far as possible. Disconnect electric plugs (4 if I remember correctly) & hose. Pull dash back again as far as possible should give you access to HVAC box. 3 bolts under the hood (one is a bitch to get to), remove vacuum tube. Heater box should be able to be removed. I definitely did not remove any hard black plastic heater vents, nor did I actually remove Dash, Steering or Battery.
Thank you for posting this man. You can float the dash with the column in but seriously sometimes it easier and faster to pull more! Plus wasaaaay less fighting and frustration. I still do it both ways though so go figure lol good work bro!
I went to 2 shops to get a quote for mine and they were both 1700… but after seeing this video I’m a little more understanding. Crazy because the parts are only like 300$ together
There wasn't enough room to get the HVAC box out of the vehicle with the dash hanging. If you can do it without removing the dash completely then that's obviously easier but I highly doubt there is enough room to remove the box with the dash still in the vehicle.
The video footage from opening the HVAC box was corrupted so I couldn't include it in the video unfortunately. It's really straight forward. You simply remove the screws from the box, remove the top and the heater core just sits inside the box. Just slide the old one out and slip the new one in place. Put screws back in the HVAC box then reinstall. The point of the video is to show the removal and installation of the HVAC box since that's the most difficult part. Once you have the box out its very simple to swap both the heater and Evap core.
Holy, that is an immense amount of work
Wish u woulda shown the remove n install of heater core n evap.

Thanks! I really appreciate that!
You didn’t seem to struggle too badly, even with missing video. Have you done this procedure many times before? And about how long did it take you?
This was the first time ever doing this job in this model Jeep. I've done others before just never this model.
Took me about 6-7 hours
So thats how you do it! 🤷♂️
That was a jk on the thumb nail haha
Sorry the video clip that showed the HVAC box taken apart was lost somehow. I'll have to update the video if I can find it.
picture on thumbnail is a JK model. great video though for sure. very helpful.
what stereo / display is that?
Why use a stock image of a JK on your thumbnail when the video is about a TJ?
Is it possible to suspend the passenger dash from the roll bar and remove the airbox so you do not have to pull the steering wheel?
It might be possible but you won't have as much room and it might make the job a lot more difficult.
Hello, what is the value of a job like that?
I went to 2 shops to get a quote for mine and they were both 1700… but after seeing this video I’m a little more understanding. Crazy because the parts are only like 300$ together
I don't get the steering removal? why not just let the dash hang

You never even showed the heater core. "Pop the old one out and put a new one back in." Waste of time.

Ridiculous.I'll wear a heavier jacket.🤣
The issue in this case was no A/C and in FL that can be a little rough lol
Skipped all the details so what’s the point of this video?
Some of the footage got corrupted and couldn't be used but I decided to upload what I had anyway.
I stopped half way through and clicked "Dislike" because of that extremely annoying background racket.
