Hi Merina!!! I haven't been watching for the last 6 weeks...I was able to pop on the live last night for a bit...but it was for a good reason...after being essentially homeless for 4 years, I was called for an income based apartment!! I finally ( Praise Jesus! ) have my own place again!!! Tonight I settled down with a cup of tea and some Merina! ❤❤❤❤
Just wanted to say regarding Legos...my 45 yr old son in law, my 41yr old nephew, and my 30yr old son..as wwll as my 19 and 9 yr old grandson...ALLLLL still request Legos as gifts!!! It doesn't stop! 😊

Tip for fridge cleaning- every time you wash dishes do one shelf in the fridge. Clear old, wipe, and rearrange. Takes like 4 mins each time.
That’s how I keep my fridge clean with 3 kids. Lol

For over 20 years I've always cleaned my fridge out with the food in it or on the counter and the doors wide open too. I put everything in a cooler (the right way) once and it was such a pain I've never done it again. I figure there's no difference than having the food sitting out during a meal for a little while and it doesn't take very long to scrub out the fridge...and I haven't died yet so I'll keep cleaning it that way. :)

First and foremost , I love watching your family ! Secondly I have a Fridge tip that has helped us a ton !! Instead of putting the fruits and veggies in the crisper drawers we put all of the condiments in the drawers and all of the veggies, fruits, and healthier items (that we usually tuck away in the drawers) in the actual door. So when we open the door we see the fruits and veggies first and we don’t tend to let those go bad . I started doing this because we ended up letting a lot of grapes, fruits and veggies go bad because we never opened the crisper drawers . But if I need a condiment I go searching in the drawer for them .. win win

We are now a family of 6 with my daughter and her family and a new baby due in May. We each have a designated day for laundry. It works pretty well not perfect but ok.
This is a fantastic suggestion. I can see it working too.
That's what we do and we are only a family of 3, I just like my laundry washed alone, I'm picky...lol 😆 so it ends up to separate everybody's.

Hey Marina! A tip for you to keep your knives sharper for longer: if you scrape something off a cutting board and into a bowl or pot, flip the knife upside down so you're not scraping with the sharp part of the blade! Scraping with the sharp part will dull it quickly!

It’s not a big deal to keep the fridge door open. When I cleaned fridges I would close it when I took out the shelves to wash in the sink. I usually empty a drawer or shelf and wash it while the door is closed then continue on with each shelf etc.
This makes sense! And sounds super easy!
I have to keep it clean too so I can see what I’ve done and still have to finish.

I have 3 kids and I feel like I am washing clothes for people who don’t even live here! The one thing that helped me the most is my morning routine. I wake up and start coffee while it is brewing I start a load of laundry then while I drink my first cup I say morning prayers and read Psalms. When I am done I wake up my kids to start school (we homeschool too) I always feel like why not make it work for my schedule. P.S. I totally hear you on the LOLs I spoke to my girls after I found out about them and told them they were immodest but that the choice was theirs, I was so proud when they said it made them feel uncomfortable too, all I am saying is keep it up when you tell them how you feel and then let them make good choices they will even if it isn’t right away.
I’m a new mom and I really enjoy you talking out your thought process on your parenting choices. It’s helpful to hear and you are also supportive and don’t judge different choices, just share what makes sense for you
I appreciate the fact that you are just you rather than your videos being fake. Being authentic is so important. I mean no family is perfect and we all never look perfect all the time. Yet our world tells us everything has to be perfect. We can never have a messy house or messy hair etc etc but that is not reality. So thank you for being real.

Great video, Merina! I love how it's a long video, so we get to hang out with you longer! 😁 You and Shane are such great parents, I just love to watch all of you. I just clean out the fridge as quick as I can, so the door isn't open too long at a time. I have a problem with dry lips too, so I keep a bunch of Lip Smackers around all the time. I keep them all over the house, and in my purse ~ I'm addicted to them! I love the Coca Cola flavored ones. ❤
Give yourself grace with laundry! Laundry and dishes are the two hardest chores to keep up. Once you get caught back up commit to ONE load per day from start to finish. Over time that just becomes a rhythm. I load my washer the night before and in the morning while my coffee brews I throw in the detergent pod and sanitizer and turn it on. Then I have ALL day to get it dried, folded, and put away. It's a simple little routine that has a HUGE impact. I also have ADHD and I have found that using the dead time for another task (like what I just mentioned or folding the laundry while dinner cooks) makes it easier for me to keep up. It's all about your routines but give yourself time to get there. You have a LOT of people you're taking care of. That's a kind of chaos that anyone would slip up in. You're doing GREAT!

Here's a great tip... to keep grapes fresh, keep them in a bowl with water. They don't need to be submerged. Change the water every few days. Grapes stay firm and last for a week or so. Really enjoy you and the family. God bless from South Africa.

My goodness people worry about the silliest things, you aren't leaving your refrigerator open all day! Nothing is going to rot in a few minutes, it takes just as long to pull things out and put in a cooler as it does to do it the normal way!🙄🤣🤣 I'm 61 years old and I swear nothing in my fridge has ruined by cleaning it out and even wiping the inside while the door is open!

I was a stay at home Momma for 18 years. Laundry is hard y'all! I finally listened to my very smart Momma. Put a load in first thing in the morning. Then throw it in the dryer no matter what. Even if it's right before your head hits the pillow. In the morning fold that load and put in another. It won't get you caught up in one day, but in a week you'll have done 7 loads and it'll only take you a few minutes a day. Love your channel and your enthusiasm! You Christmas decor is gorgeous! Glad to hear your mouth is healing friend! I think we all struggle with staying on top of housework and eating healthy/trying to lose weight and feeling like a failure when we get behind or eat ALL the carbs LoL (at least I know I do!). You said it perfectly, just try and get back on track when you fall. It's ok to fall and it doesn't mean we are failures. Applies to everything, hard to remember sometimes (most times). You can try mayo on the table. Just put some on and let it sit for awhile then just wipe it up. It sometimes helps on my furniture when the kids leave hot stuff or condensation from their cups. But I am all game for a table makeover too 🥰. Love watching you.

The spots in your table is from hot plates being put on it. I would suggest thick placemats to put under your plates.
We just finished our 4th bedroom this year and although the kids wanted their walls painted brighter colors, we went with a greige color and let them pick wall art and things that were the colors they liked so that we wouldn't have to keep painting walls every few years!

Fridge Tip - Dollar Tree or Amazon plastic placemats put on shelves of fridge. Less cleaning. Pull them out wash off and put back. Easier than cleaning the shelves. I find the light colored ones allow the light from fridge to shine thru, makes it easier to find stuff.

I just wanted to let you know you can restore your table and remove the white spots which is just moisture trapped in the layers. All you need is a towel and a clothes iron. Lay the towel over the white spots mist and iron over them. Magically they will disappear. My table does the same and that's all I do. Love you girl!

When you place a hot item on the table surface, . Water then seeps into these pores, and when the temperature drops and the wood cools off, these pores close, trapping water in them. The moisture changes the appearance of the table, leaving behind a white stain. This happened to us from a pizza set on the table
That happened here too now I use cute vinyl tablecloths in seasonal patterns and placemats

The table is from putting hot plates, wet glasses and things on it. Our table does the same thing. We have to use place mats. Love your sweet family!
Carmex is the little pot is the best for chapped lips! Living in WI, chapped lips are part of life in the winter and Carmex works the best. It tastes awful, but it helps make sure you don't lack it right off. 😀

If the corners of your mouth cracks, carmex will heal it up real quick also. I have used it for years. I always keep some in my make up bag in my purse.
I like it in the tube better than the little jar. Plus it's much easier to use and you don't get it on your fingers!

I reccomend using the plastic napkin holders for stick butter and cheese slices (they fit perfectly in the fridge doors) and the smaller plastic baskets to organize specific items (how ever you personally choose). You could also put your condiments in the re-close-able clear plastic condiment bottles to save on space! I also reccomend putting the condiments in a drawer and putting produce in a basket bc for me it's a reminder to use the produce so it doesn't go bad. I found all the items I use at dollar tree
I tried to put a load in before I went to bed. When I got up I threw that load in the dryer and started another load. My kids wore uniforms to school and they could be washed in 2 loads. We invested in 5 uniforms each so that we didn't have to worry about doing laundry during to school week. I assigned a certain color towel to each child and they used it twice before putting it in the hamper. The colors coordinated and could all be washed in the same !oad. If it wasn't in a hamper, by the color I knew who didn't take care of their towel. Each child also had an assigned spot for their towel. It may sound weird, but it worked for us.

To save a tiny bit of money just put a pump or 2 of your normal conditioner in a bottle and fill with water. Works great and is suuuper flattering for my curly haired kid. Also, if your babies are a bit stubborn in the morning then i also suggest brushing and then braiding their hair at night. Its comfy to sleep on and much easier to brush out in the morning. At least for us, of course. Just a couple friendly suggestions. 💞
