The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the Nintendo Switch & Nintendo Wii U has quickly become one of my favourite games of all time! One of the things I like the most is that you can personalize your playthrough by throwing on various different armour sets to not only change your look but give you added bonuses that can change the way you play! That being said, welcome to the Top 5 Armour Sets in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild! Here's the thing tho, you're not skillful by crouching and waiting, you are slow and inefficient
Surrre pressing down on the control stick and moving is so skillful.
Don't even try to justify the act of moving slowly as skill. The stealth armor is efficient, the amount of actions you can do without making a noise exceeds what you can do by crouching and moving verrrrry slowly. Why waste time when you can do it better? But sure, why not up the risk for no apparent reason, make your life difficult, waste precious time, be cheap, it's all good. If you haven't even found strategies to get 8,000 rupees for one of the best armors in the game then I guess you're lacking in skill.

After playing this nearly nonstop for weeks I've decided that stealth armor is my favorite because trolling bobokins with remote bombs yields nonstop hilarity. I also love sneaking up behind them just to whistle. They freak out.
You should go find Kilton and buy the monster headgears then, you can make them follow you wherever. When I'm feeling particularily devious I drop a pork chop on the ground for easy backstabs.

The Dark Link armor is USELESS. You can't get it until the end of the game, and the Stealth armor bonus has the same effect, plus extra stealth. Its only there for nostalgia

If the dark link armor is faster at night compared to the upgraded stealth set it's not by much. I'm fairly certain it's the exact same.
its faster than the stealth set but only by 1 haste level. the benefits of stealth far outweigh the slightly faster speed from the dark set. not to mention, you may not wear the Dark set when in villages, otherwise certain vendors will not allow you ti buy items from them (like the food shop in lurelin. she will be too afraid to sell you anything)
The Dark Link Set was a huge disapointment. When I got it, I had already had the upgraded Stealth Set, which gives as upgrade buff the night speed, has better sneaking, gives more armor and is easier to obtain. So it's overall *way* better than the Dark Link Set.

Also one thing you forgot to say: the ancient armor is also used for having the highest defense in the game plus the guardian resist, so you have champion tunic, ancient helmet and greaves, all maxed out, you have 88 defense and with the guardian proof bonus, guardian lasers take you 3 and half hearts, also for full maxed out ancient gear, but has 84 defense and the attack bonus on ancient weapons
I used that armor setup to beat the Lynel on the great Plateau while playing on Master mode

The Barbarian Armor is nice, but the best overall set is combining the Champion's tunic, Ancient Greaves, and Amber Earrings all fully upgraded. They max your armor out at 88. Make yourself a stamina increasing elixir out of five endurance carrots, and make yourself some mighty steamed fruit out of five mighty bananas and you'll forget all about the Barbarian set.

Wouldn't the ancient suit be better than barbarian, since barbarian doesn't stack with attack boost, while ancient armor can? So, eating attack boost food and using ancient weapons with the ancient armor could potentially be better, right?

Isaiah Walker if all you use is ancient weapons yes but the odds of that are lower. The barbarian set gives you more than adequate defense if upgraded plus you're a beast with any weapon. I no longer use it because it shortens fights considerably and I feel like I'm cheating. It's perfect for acquiring right away after stealth armor set.

I feel like the green "Of the Wild" set should've been Number 5 cause the stealth armor also makes you move faster at night, and the Of the Wild set is not only very nostalgic, but also raises the Master Sword from 30 to 60! Great for if you haven't done the Master Sword trials in the DLC! Also very satisfying to wear when taking down the final boss!
yeah but you need to beat all shrines and its almost impossible doing that in mid game, most likely after beating calamity ganon
That set only enhances Master Sword “beam” (see description, “Master sword beam up”) when you use the “throw” weapon ability. It does not enhance master sword from 30 to 60
I'd have to say zora armour for 3rd place as a full set allows you to climb waterfalls, attack in water, and take less stamia while swimming
Royal guard’s armor is also really good since your charge attacks upgrades faster, you spend less energies for water-dash or wall jumping, really good to use with combo of speed buffs
good list, i think the best amor set to me is the climber's set because of its practicality, having the amount of stamina used when climbing/jumping reduced was EXTREMELY useful/helpful in my playthrough. I also like the stealth set because it reminds me of Sheik, the hylian set( tunic, hood) and the champions tunic.

I use hylian hood, climbing gear, and hylian trousers. Dyed white or black. If white, have a great eagle bow to look cool. If black then use a royal guard sword/claymore. Looks dope as hell.

Pancake Lover but you need to upgrade the rudder armor 2 times on all and find at least one of the armor pieces. The thunder helm is better because it is rosier to get. Moldugas are easy if you know what you're doing and its only one armor piece. Although it has low defense when are you gonna use it to fight? It's gonna mostly be used to keep lightning away

Pretty sure the Climbing Set doesn't actually decrease the stamina usage... Just makes you climb faster while burning stamina at an increased/comparable rate. Gladely did a test of it.
My favorite armour along the stealth one is the male gerudo armour. It is the only way to really fight in the desert becasue the vai one has just 1 defens and it also reduce the heat quite nice. But all along it just looks so cool that i wear it akways when i am am not sneaking arround in the stealth armour.
IMO ancient is leagues ahead of barbarian, it gives 80% boost compared to 50% and ancient weapons have super high damage already
True. Plus it gives the same defense as soldiers gear, which is 24 more defense than the barbarian gear. Worth upgrading to the max.

Zora armor is useful only for waterfalls, because swimming is painful anyway and useless, I always have by two good buddies cryonis and paraglider to prevent me from doing any swimming in BOTW.

Climbers Armor doesn't reduce stamina when climbing. At level 2, you gain JUMP stamina reduction, but that doesn't reduce normal climbing stamina.

The fully upgraded flamebreaker armor makes you take less damage then the guardian armor because the beam can only be down to 6 damage and the explosion can be negglected with the set bonus on the flamebreaker armor.(Note: the guardian resist up just stacks with the armor rating so you can only get it down to 6 damage for the beam even with the guardian armor)

Lots of people don't realize, but if you complete the quest 'Tarrey Town', after the wedding if you look around the houses, you'll find a guy on his terrace. He sells the Climbing armor and the Electric resistance armor. I found it easier to just sell ore and buy the armor from him then work on all those shrines, and later when you DO complete them, you can sell the armor for about 300-400 rupees each

I agree...? And some of his information is off like swapping the Shiek Mask. Visually it may be interchangeable, but you lose the set bonus. No mention of having to get two upgrades for the bonuses either, new players would be confused :/

At the current moment to me the soldiers gear is quite good once it gets some ranks as it gives good defense to where even guardians don't do too much damage for a non guardian gear. But I also agree with both the climbing and Sheikah gear as those can be used a bit more often.
The Climber's set doesn't decrease the overall stamina usage, it just quickens the climb. Stamina usage is scaled with how fast you go.
I think it decreases leap stamina usage at level 2 or higher

You can also get the barbarian and climber set once you complete the terra town quest there will be a guy on one of the houses balconies just go up to him and talk to him it is pretty expensive though

I disagree with #2 and #1. If anything, they should be flipped around. Ancient Set gives better defense and has Ancient Proficiency. While only working with guardian weapons unlike the Barbarian Set, the Ancient Proficiency buff boosts a weapons power by 80%.
@@Rcd5000 I specifically said I based it on more than just how useful they are. I agree the Ancient set is slightly superior ability-wise, but the Barbarian set looks way cooler, and the way you obtain it is way more fun.
@@dobadobadooo oh yeah. I went to the dye shop and changed my barbarian set into a different color and a cool fact is that the helm will have a different design based on the color you choose. It is very fun to get and looks cooler, that I can admit. But in my opinion based on usefulness, the ancient set is much more useful.

The barbarians like the third best and the best is the ancient guardian set cuz if u get max upgrades with the fairy fountains you do 100% (doubled) your dmg with ancient weapons which alr do a lot of dmg. And the barbarians set is third best because there's phantom armour that has the same stats that do 50% more but has more defence and you can also get 50% more msg with attack up so I don't see the reason why to use the barbarian set I would get it is if I would try to collect all the armour's and plus you can use the attack up on the ancient guardian set to do more dmg. And the phantom armour is easier to get. (Btw ty if you read to the end)
Why would you add the dark link set if the sheika stealth set does the same thing and has better defence. To replace 5, it should be the zora set.

I like the knight set because of the defense and the of the wild set because although it is slightly hard to upgrade if you don't know what you're doing it is easy to upgrade if you do. And you get to look like a link and master sword beam up

My number 1 armor is the stealth armor set. It's so useful:
- you can walk normally, enemies won't even spot you because of sounds.
- EZ stealthkills, and im used to chained sneakstrike technique. The way to go to beat master mode
- you can harvest frogs, fireflies, lizards, butterflies.... without any issues. No need to sneak.
- you run faster at night (lvl 2)
- looks amazing
My number 2 set is climbing gear. You climb a lot in this game.

Is there a difference between the stealth night speed boost and the dark link armor?
With the guardian armor it is cool but in the akkala tech lab if you get an ancient shield it will automatically deflect Guardian lasers if you hold it up witch is cheaper and has alot of durability

Nope, just for the completionist collectors like me. I’m trying to get almost every armor set and weapon
stealth armor also gives you a set bonus of going faster at night too!
I usually use the Stealth Mask and the Guardian torso and bottom.
I think number 2 and 1 should be reversed as number 2 increases durability of ancient weapons and the barbarian's armor buff isn't unique you can just use food items to simulate the same effect also the barbarians gives far less protection than the ancient gear

Rubber is amazing simply because of its use for fighting Thunderblight Ganon
