Does yours have blade play? So far I've found three sources complaining about it, which is kind of a bummer... Also, what keeps the "show" side scale from overstating past the magnet position? A cut out and stop pin near the pivot?

No blade play on my model.
What keeps the scales and blade from over traveling is a combination of stop pins on both side of the blade and milled out holes on the insides of both handles that work with said pins.
