This gift can be so powerful to build and tear down.. i can see that if a person who views God as an angry God instead of the redemptive loving God who is just in His ways.. i wonder can the discernment gift get skewed if that person was hurt or belief system somehow got skewed due to hurt or pain over time and experiences if not cared for?

I hear voices but these voices come from real every day people and I pick up on demonic energy from them and can't explain why and they say made up things, things they cannot know about me and they mock me and speak badly about me. I said all this at church today and a member for the church reccons that because of this, I have a very strong gift of discernment. Is this true and why?
I’m just not sure that what you have is the gift of discernment or an attachment. I have this gift of discernment. But it’s more about discerning biblical truth from lies. But also I sense energy very well good energy and negative energy. I really don’t know how to explain it. It’s just there. But I don’t hear demonic voices from people mocking me. That’s actually eerie. What you might need is a exorcist and prayer.
What do you do when you’re in environments that don’t want to hear those with the gift of discernment? That’s what has been discerned. I knew someone who had this gift. She would only tell a few people about what she discerned. Not everyone responds prayerfully and positively.
what is the difference of the gift of discernment and the skill (learned) of discernment?
One is given after you receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and is an actual gift of the Spirit and the other is knowing God's Word and carefully evaluating truth from lies.
