    In answer to your question: Yes , a corrupt(defect) capacitor could cause this problem. It could , Of course , while it is electronic ,I can not guarantee it. Try to open the senseo and take a look if you can find the part. I think , in this model , it is not a 0,47uF but a 0,68uF capacitor.

      i replaced the capacitor. original was 0,68uF. i had a 1uF at hand - so i put that one in, and indeed, the coffee-machine is fixed again. thanks for your help.

      @@stefanholl3392 my machine seems to have this issue. Where inside is the capacitor and how can it be replaced?
