      The 2020 Roubaix Expert, pre-covid. Over-speced, perfect bike. All the right moves for endurance and built prior to the collapse of bike supply chains. It's a story in itself.

    I’ve always respected Warren’s reviews, it comes from a deep knowledge of bike development & testing. That’s why my previous bike was a Supersix EVO Hi-mod and my current bike is a TCR Advanced Pro. Still got your Storck Warren?

    “Not going to be comparing specs, it’s all about the ride” …then spends the whole video talking about specs and hardly any actual bike review.

      Yeah, he really only covered the specs to compare Price Range... And he concluded by saying the Giant was the better Road RIDE... Which I knew he would!!😂(Really like the idea of that Roubaix future-shock though🤔....)

      @@markehrlich7534I own the diverge and it’s great all rounder for me. I don’t ride fast anyways. I have the panaracer sk 38’s and for faster rides pump them up to 40psi, for gravel 27 psi. Perfection

    Nice review (and fair from the start pointing out the differences in build levels), but I still have a really hard time with $12000 bikes that are probably in the same factory in Asia. Of course the laws of supply and demand apply, and manufacturers will provide what consumers want and buy at whatever cost. After all, people go into business to make money. I get that. But $12000 for a bike that chances are looks like a gazillion (yes, that's a word! 😆) others? I'm out, I'm afraid.

    Specialized has a hoverbar problem. The Roubaix has a profile only a parent could love. Gimmicks are needless in a wide tire era. Canyon learned. Roubaix should be synonymous with 2BR rubber. Specialized's tyres are highly rated. Owners of competitors' frames run them. Lean on that strength.

    • @veganpotterthevegan
      @veganpotterthevegan 10 месяцев назад +4

      Not a huge fan of the Roubaix but it's no gimmick. If you're riding mostly smooth terrain with higher pressure, that suspension still does a lot to soften the ride when you hit things vs lowering pressure for terrain that largely doesn't need very low pressure. It also let's you get away with narrower tires on rough terrain

      @@bikeman123 we don´t know that. Your conclusion is just wrong. Maybe these 2 big brands just paid more to geht the desired review...

      Ah yes, channels should only review what you personally want to see. And let’s ignore the masses of other videos they have made featuring neither of these brands. 🙄
      Do you just go looking for reasons to be upset and offended?

  • @dgaertner
    @dgaertner 6 месяцев назад +4

    It would be good to remind viewers at the conclusion that you're not comparing apples to apples, which would have been the top end (lighter frame) Roubaix S-Works model to the top model Defy in your video.

    New Defy is so good it'll start cannibalising TCR sales. New TCR had better bring some improvements, because they sure made the new Defy a winner!

    Seems to me that the Crux with a set of road wheels is the winner here....Looking at the geo charts, seems pretty similar

    • @K777John
      @K777John 6 месяцев назад

      My thoughts exactly-I have a 2018 Roubaix with the earlier version of future shock which works brilliantly, and I have been lusting after an Aethos-but the geo is a bit too ‘race bike’ for my 75 year old body. The Crux is the same frame design as the Aethos but longer wheelbase and gentler geo, yes it’s heavier than an equivalent Aethos but like for like it’s lighter than a Roubaix-decisions, decisions…….

      The new Defy is one of the best looking bikes released this year. The price isn't as far off the Canyon as other big brands, so I think it's the clear choice.

    • @0keppes0

      Same, but will be going for the defy as I can buy it from a dealer nearby, as to optimise my position. The canyon center is just too far in terms of maintenance as well. I have a a canyon e-bike. Should go for a broken light… but it is a 30 min + ride. I have come to appreciate service, my time and ease of mind.
