Bing Crosby’s first number one hit in 1931. Beautiful thing about jazz improvisations, 90 years later it’s still vibrant and swingin in the hands of professionals.
I first heard Bill Charlap in his mother's apartment 3x (at least) in 1981. We had a friend in common Michael Sabbarese aka "Bumb".

I literally sit here with tears in my eyes. The fact that this still exists. The bespectacled gentleman with the pochet, the suits, the bass player with the pork pie hat and the drummer who alternates his brushes and sticks, in such a setting, playing music like that. I'm happy to see that this still exists in this day and age. In any normal year, this would have been relegated to the smaller rooms in the North Sea Jazz Festival, and it's where I would have spent my evening.

I thought Bill Evans was the epitome of jazz piano interpretation but I found Bill Charlap & his trio by accident and am so glad that I did. Get get enough of the two Bills

This reminds me of coming at about 12:00 am Sat night my Father listening to like Piano Trio falling asleep Smoking a huge Cuban. I’d ask him who was on the Box then remove the burning two inch ASH A SECOND BEFORE THE HOUSE BURNED. He look up at me and say” that’s living Boy “.

Such great playing. They connect and anticipate each other so well. I had no idea Charlap's hands were so huge, he's grabbing 10ths like sweets from a bowl. Unfortunate the camera work is so clueless and distracting. We get it you have a steadycam, let us watch the musicians please.
