I know that you were trying to "wrap everything up" about mysticism in this third part of the series, but the fact is that you left a lot of important mystical paths out of your narrative. These include shamanism, including Native American shamanism, or medicine men. And heck - what about Taoism?
@@MrResearcher122 Dear Mr. Researcher: Your reply opens up all kinds of metaphysical vistas! I would say that Taoism, Shinto and Zoroastrianism exist on most people's maps of world religions, but all the indigenous shamanic religious traditions of the world, which are definitely mystical - that might be another story. But then, on an inner spiritual level, you could argue that each individual has their own particular religion.
@@naiman4535. Religions often seem like institutional forms of spirituality. On my shelf, sits a little book:. Jesus the Sufi. If it was titled, ''Jesus the Taoist'', it still would've made sense. Before it was Christianity, its Aramaic name was, simply, 'the way....'
Far too hasty with the instructions, lots of things here are just chucked in like they’re nothing. It could be that this is not the format for this subject. Usually an excellent channel.
Thank you so much for this series! Is fantastic! Can i advice to you to cover also in this series Tantra ( Hindu and Buddhist), Neidan (Taoist inner alchemy), Shamanism (like carlos Castaneda) and western mysticism like Hermetism and Rosicrucians. OM NAMAH SHIVAYA
I think it has never been so difficult to be a mystic as it is now, in the modern world, where rush, appearances, money, luxury, unnaturalness and materialism rule.
I consider myself a lay-mystic, a regular Joe Schmo that decided to be reclusive because its easier than dealing with people lol. During my reclusive periods, I often spend 10+ hours a day in meditation, mindfulness, focusing on myself in a constructive and spiritual manner. I'm also fortunate enough to have a solo-job, where I spend 8-16 hours by myself. It really is better to be alone when you are comfortable with yourself and being in your own skin. Even when you're not comfortable in your own skin, silence and solitude can definitely help. It can also hurt. It just depends on your approach and mindset. I had my first major mystical experience in 2019 and have had tons of mini-awakenings since but i also gind myself "chasing the dragon" instead of focusing on the journey. Once you have an awakening, good luck ever finding anything that will match it. Not even skydiving matches spiritual awakening.
The most important element to walk the path of profound mysticism is to have strong base which can be your guru/strong belief/realised ego/personal diety or fixed spiritual connection. The base is necessary to guide when way is lost, or any problems that occur within our daily lives. Almost all saints walking paths of mysticism had genuine teachers/Strong sense of beliefs/Realised ego. During kundalini awakening/ prana upliftment/ immersion into nature/ Flow of life force /dissolution into void, the need for base again arrises. You have to concentrate on one ideal. Otherwise your effort will fail. The analogy is digging for water. You have to dig at one spot to find water. If you keep digging a little bit at one spot and then shift to another then you will not find water. So explore all , respect all but choose one and become one.
Also, i believe one needs to cycle through 3 levels of state of self continuously( no need to stop the flow) to maintain and nurture the spiritual connection . 1.The concept of duality with the divine i.e ego down valuation( awe and worship) 2.The concept of strong desire to merge with the divine i.e utilization of ego( goal and focus) 3.The concept of realization that one is divine i.e ego death( bliss) By cycling through these mental and spiritual stages one can get microscopic and macro level realization without loosing the way and experience "sat ,chit ,ananda" i.e existence , consciousness and bliss.
Mystics experience asketism? Is that when someone asks a bunch of questions? Because I am an asketisc, but it usually drives my family and friends a bit mad. Or maybe a mystic has to endure others asking a bunch of questions? Or maybe the mystery is why we are watching a Machine Learning channel, with poor speech synthesis?
Hobbies are important, they are most often the avenues through which we are in direct communication with the Divine. They are the ways that the ultimate reality expresses itself through us. Making them the highest form of human expression. Think of the things you would do if you didn't have to work and find a way to do them

This is wonderful. Can you tell me the source material for this script? Especially the phrase or concept of "turning attention to its source." I've heard the phrase used in your other brilliant video "Dark side of spiritual spirituality: Confronting spiritual bypassing" and it really struck me. Would love to know where that particular teaching is from so I could go deeper. Thanks again for all your incredible content. 🙏
Hi. That phrase is used in many spiritual traditions. However, even though I used it in both videos, I sometimes think a better use of works might be "rest attention in its source." I take my cues from the reading of Adi Da, Ramana Maharishi, Nisargadatta Maharaj, and Papaji. I particularly like Papaji's instruction to "Keep quiet. Make no effort." Which just about sums it all up! Cheers, Matt
The steps are kind of random maybe maybe not. To be a mystic expand everything till everything dissolves. No more individual things. Probably don’t do it but whatever.

Some think religions, like countries, only exist if someone puts them on a map.

I guess we all walk the path for sure but at certain levels at any given time there will only be few at that point
