    There's this story-legend, that when Stechkin himself was graduating from the Tula Mechanical Institute, his thesis was building a gun.When the commission was checking the blueprints one of them said literally "This gun won't shoot and it can't".Stechkin replied by pulling out a prototype of his gun and shooting three blank rounds in the air.He graduated.

      It's far cooler than a Glock 18. Larry completely wiffed by not mentioning the rate reducer mechanism. That gun would be uncontrollable and run 1200+ RPM without it. You can see in the slow motion footage that the hammer pauses for a considerable amount of time after the slide closes.

      _"That gun would be uncontrollable and run 1200+ RPM without it."_
      Machine pistols are called the "ultimate firearm to have for a gunfight in a phone booth" for a reason. That said, the Glock machine pistols seem... "controllable"... enough to work around without a stock/brace. If just barely. It's definitely one of those things are more cool than practical, however.

    • @Pest789
      @Pest789 6 лет назад +13

      My buddy is an SOT and has an original Glock 18C and a stock for it. There's a video of me firing it on my channel. It's surprisingly controllable with a stock, but it's not anything like a real subgun. Without a stock, aim at their balls and you might get a few torso hits. It runs so fast, it's hard to get consistent triples with it. It needs burst mode or a rate reducer.

Speaking for myself, I want to see regular speed, slow speed and very slow speed. I don’t want to see speeds 10, 9, 7, 4, 3, 2, 1, in various orders.
    Just my personal feedback.
    And I’d love to hear maybe a minute on each one of these videos where Larry talks about the handling of the gun. Accurate on semi auto? Short bursts? Mag dump on multiple targets? I know you wanna keep the video short but I think this would add a lot to it without extending too much

    Still produced today in Russia. Is very widely used by all the special forces divisions. Russian weapon technology is commonly looked down upon due to lack of real information and actual understanding. Aps is a very excellent platform, it has earned its place as one of Alpha's top counter terrorism picks. Also with proper training, the stock holster isn't needed. Actually is typical never taken into the field. There are modern holsters for it now.
