You should see the old VF building now.. it’s a uhhh sight. The old rack room is actually is part of where I works 2nd warehouse, then the old unclaimed baggage is my works main warehouse. Always been very invested in this place
Remember it well. The early 90's that place was jam packed. That part of Alabama since 1990 has lost Gulf States Steel, Goodyear and Ft McClellan, Magic Chef and severe cuts at the Anniston Army Depot. Literally tens of thousands of jobs.
I get this weird pit in my stomach watching this. I am from Boaz, I am 30 but lived here since birth. I can tell anything from my earliest memories to recent day. This is so weird to watch. I would love to share info I have to add. Obviously don’t know all the history but have a lot of memories tied to the place
My grandmother used to live on Snellgrove Av. in Boaz. We would go to the outlets when we were there, although I never cared much for shopping. We used to eat lunch at Mrs. Tupper's or The Brass Lantern.
Kb toys was down a few stores down from west point, jerzees t shirt store was close by their was a Pepperidge store in the complex on the way to vf in the small space to the right
Your Area is just like mine I grew up in the Early and Mid 2000's as a Child (I was Born in 1998 btw) all the Shops in my Area of Southern California has been Permanently Closed Every Now And Then there Used to be this Local Target in my Area (Near My House) that I use to go to when I was Younger to Buy My Video Games and Music CDs and the Whole Store Permanently Closed October 15th 2018 since I Remember All the Shops in my Area Close Down every now and then from when I was Younger to now so my Area has Changed too which means everything in Southern California is Dead which is a Shame
Brett, are any stores left at the outlet center? When we lived in Alabama in the early 1990's, going to the Boaz Outlets was a fun day! They also had a terrific pizza place there. I'm grateful we were able to take advantage of those "good times" before everybody walking around looking at their cell phones!
There are very few businesses currently at the outlet center, most notably the movie theater and bowling alley. I believe there are plans to demolish the buildings and redevelop the area.
Music 4 Less was one of my favorite stores I remember there being close to the bathrooms and near the Bible out and it was just the coolest freaking store. Glad you mentioned it. If you come down billy Dyar, the billboards old signs are falling off and you can see the old music 4 less add there and space isn’t rented so it’s a daily reminder for me. Brings nostalgic memories every time
How Long Have You Lived In Alabama? PS I Lived in Southern California my Whole Life so I'm assuming you Lived in Alabama your whole Life since I'm watching this Video
Thanks for the trip down memory lane! We would drive 6 hours from Mississippi to shop there. Always thought they had the best Burger King there.
Huntsville native here and we went down to Boaz all the time for outlet shopping! Always a treat, we made many great memories.
You would think they would build some of these in Huntsville with the way that place is growing.
