I agree when you said they don't have the perfect voice. GD voice is really annoying but beautifully annoying. They dont have the perfect good looking Kpop boyband image or perfect dance choreo but their visual is addictively attractive. Not to mention each one of them are really different. Haru Haru is almost like the fandom's "official" song, I guess you could say their anthem in a way. That's why the Mexican VIPs sing along to it so well, it's an iconic song that VIPs will always keep close to their hearts.
I remember when i saw them in NewArk in 2012, TOP couldnt sing correctly because he was crying from the fans signing Haru Haru. I love that they sing this version and not the original one, because it make it so intimate and such a beautiful moment we all share together.
Just wanted to point out some facts that people didn’t say in the comments, hopefully you read all this 🥴🤣: GD began his career at age six with acting. Then at age seven, he started training to become a singer and dancer at SM entertainment. He actually is actually childhood friends with TOP (since they were like 4, because they lived next to each other). While GD was training, he discovered a rap group (Wu-Tang) and was fascinated by it. This also made him want to learn and understand English, so he took songs like CREAM and translated them in korean to get a better understanding of what they were saying. He then started to invite TOP over, to listen to Wu-Tang together. That’s when GD realized that he wanted to be a rapper. However, SM didn’t allow that because he already spent years training on just singing and dancing. But, GD, being 12 years old at the time, didn’t let that stop him. So at 13 years old, he released a song called “my age is 13”. It’s on youtube if you want to check it out. The song gained a lot of traction because he was the youngest korean rapper to ever debut at that age (he’s still the youngest, no other rapper has debuted younger than him till this day). So he technically debuted twice: as a soloist at 13 then as a group (Bigbang) at 19. His bday is actually a day before bb anniversary. He turned 19 on August 18, then bb debuted with their first song “la la la” on August 19. So, he was 18 in the “la la la” mv. YG saw the “my age is 13” mv and contacted him to train at YG to also be a rapper as well, so GD left SM and joined YG at 13. He also moved away from TOP after joining YG and they became distant. At YG, is where he met Taeyang and they both trained for 6 years to be a hip hop duo. Gd was a little annoyed because he had already been training for 6 years as a solo artist, but it didn’t really bother him because he became really close with Taeyang very fast. So basically GD had been training for a total of 12 years💀. That’s called dedication right there🤣. After 6 years of training, Gd and Taeyang thought they were going to debut soon. But that’s when YG broke the news to them and said that he was looking for four more people to join the group. This time Gd was actually angry, and rightfully so, because he had been training for SO long (as a soloist then as a duo) and is finally ready to debut as a duo then all of a sudden it gets changed. Other comments left this part out, but Gd didn’t want to get to know four strangers, so he actually called TOP and told him to audition to be in the group. TOP, being an underground rapper at the time, auditioned but didn’t pass because he was overweight. So, he lost a lot of weight, in a months span, and re-auditioned and got the spot. Gd was very happy for TOP but still didn’t care for the others that won the audition (Seungri, Deasung, and Hyunseung). Overtime, he actually started to become really close with Hyunseung. But he really didn’t like Seungri (like couldn’t stand him💀) and didn’t talk to him for 3 months. However, GD and Seungri started becoming really close when they bonded over a korean drama called Princess hours. GD saw Seungri watching it and the first thing he told Seungri, after months of not talking to him, was “what time is the new episode on today?” 🤣🤣 Since then, they became the closest with each other and people even started shipping them and called their ship name “GRI” but the name changed when Seungri called GD in an interview. And one of the questions asked “what are your guys relationship with each other?” And Seungri said “GD is like water to me. He’s essential to my life”🥺. And GD said “you and me are like Nyongtory” and they started laughing. So now, their ship name changed from GRI to nyongtory. So they are known as nyongtory now and it’s one of the most popular ship names in kpop. In case you were wondering, Ji-Yong (GD real name)= nyong. And Seungri name means victory= Tory. I'm glad I could see them live, it was their first time in Mexico and only God knows if it was also their last. Seungri have one of the best albums in 2018 and he is really underrated for a lot of people when they compare them to the other members BUT made no mistake, he has a great solo career, and his albums are lit. Like the title tracks are good but the b sides? Man, they are great Seungri its more pop while TOP its hiphop, Taeyang its R&B, GD do every genre and Daesung have more rock pop song and in japanese. All of them are great and they are SO different in their solo careers that when you go back to them together doong BIGBANG its even more awesome. Seungri is like, "Nope, nobody can control me, and you can't predict my move😂" But I agree that he's underrated, I think he's good at everything so people used to forgot he's talented. Like TOP is a great rapper, Taeyang's R&B, Daesung's soul, and ofc GD. But if you watch the making of The Great Seungri, Bandsix said Seungri is very unique and different from Bigbang, he focus more on the band and combine every kinds of music together, but the result is perfect and natural. @@yongrong1249 Yes I sometimes think how talented Daesung and Seungri are is a VIP secret. Daesung's solo work is mostly in Japan and Seungri provides a lot of support in songs He is there in the back making the main vocalist shine. In many songs they all 5 sing with one main voice and the others adding layers under that It gives songs such depth.
On point about GD's distinctive voice. It's not for all, but almost everyone remembers his voice. It's very hard to ignore. And he is very aware of this. The reason I love BigBang's songs and their stages is because BigBang knows how to work with their strengths and weaknesses as a band and as individuals. BB (GD mostly) and YG producers really know which songs will fit their vocals best and which part of the songs should go to who. Their stages are also organized chaos because their aim is to maintain spontaneity and provide the best entertainment value, according to their skills. This is what happens when you have creative control over your material. You know how to work around your limitations as individuals, use the strength of team members to address them and create a whole new dynamic. This is also why despite being formed as a boyband, Big Bang never gave off that manufactured feel. Oh and the comparison of BigBang songs to a prickly cactus really had me rolling. 😆
They are the type to practice real hard on choreo and go HAM during rehearsals but when it’s time to dance live, they go ‘bun that’ and do whatever. LOOL. They be like ‘dance...Whats that? We got dancers for that’. But they do it so flawlessly...They are 100% hands on in everything. From tech to production etc. They are ARTIST!!
It would be amazing seeing you react to all of their solo stuff. I personally feel like Daesung specifically is often overlooked when it comes to his solos, so it'd be really nice seeing you react to him eventually. Of course I'd love to see you react to all of them!! TOP has more of a hiphop style, Taeyang is R&B, G-Dragon does a little bit of everything and Seungri has more of a pop vibe to him. The Great Seungri is an album he released in 2018, would be amazing seeing you react to that! He did a collab with Mino from Winner in one of the songs, and with B.I. from iKON in another. Daesung has more of a rock vibe, and he also does trot songs actually. Most of Daesung's solo songs are in Japan, he's one of the most famous kpop singers in Japan! Some even say he's bigger than GD in Japan, which is crazy. That's why he has so much Japanese content instead of Korean, and his Japanese stage name is "D-LITE". So if you want to look up his songs, they'll usually be under the name D-LITE instead of Daesung. Daesung is my favourite and I think he has one of the best voices out there, that's why I really want people to experience that for themselves. "Anymore" by him is one of my favourite songs, I would really love seeing you react to that and hear your thoughts. It always brings me to tears. Love your reactions

This movie makes me cry. It's been 5 years since we all feared we would never see them again and they are finally coming... We waited patiently for so long. I miss them playing around and having fun with us on stage.
You are correct about GD's voice. There are people who are irritated by it. I think it's either you hate it or you love it. I personally love it's distinctiveness and how it adds texture to the song. I live for his adlibs in concerts, he can really hype things up and it's something that sticks to your head. I remembered when I watched my first concert in Japan. I got caught recording GD's ment part and was kicked out of the venue. It was middle of winter but I still stayed listening outside. GD's adlibs made me feel like I am still there (well I am still there but not inside😆). I can always listen to their music online but his adlibs really gives life to their live stages.
So thankful for this upload. Ive been really depressed lately (well more than my usual) due to a lot of things that have happened recently and watching this really helped cheer me up. 💕

T.O.P was a underground rapper and was brought to YG ent then Daesung lastly Seungri beat Hyusung to be the 5th member of BIGBANG. They were considered ugly based on the standards of Idols before. They rised to fame because of the song LiE written and produced by GD. BIGBANG were the first idol group to have a rapper that is actually an underground rapper and first idol group to produce their own music.

I think it was more that this group was hired in 2012 for a tour directed by Laurieann Gibson and the band and company liked them so much that they made sure they didn't hire anyone else. That all future shows HAD to have these particular guys.

I got teary while watching the movie with you because as you said BIGBANG had to invest from their own pockets to have a world tour and travel around with all that equipment and live band to meet their fans. I remember that fans from Europe and South America wanted to have BIGBANG concerts there but unfortunately did not happen. The highly demand was there. Hopefully in their next world tour they travel to a lot more countries. BIGBANG holds a special spot in my heart. They helped me so much during my blue days. They are the first kpop group I listened to and fell in during their Alive album. Each member has their own color in their solo work/discography. Try to check all 5 members solo and you will see how different each of them. Their music is not the same with each other.

Since then, they became the closest with each other and people even started shipping them and called their ship name “GRI” but the name changed when Seungri called GD in an interview. And one of the questions asked “what are your guys relationship with each other?” And Seungri said “GD is like water to me. He’s essential to my life”🥺. And GD said “you and me are like Nyongtory” and they started laughing.
So now, their ship name changed from GRI to nyongtory. So they are known as nyongtory now and it’s one of the most popular ship names in kpop.
In case you were wondering, Ji-Yong (GD real name)= nyong. And Seungri name means victory= Tory.

Haruto's mom he said she was a big fan of Taeyang and they went to Seungri's concert. Daesung's solo work is mostly in Japan and Seungri provides a lot of support in songs He is there in the back making the main vocalist shine. On point about GD's distinctive voice. It's not for all, but almost everyone remembers his voice. It's very hard to ignore. And he is very aware of this.
The reason I love BigBang's songs and their stages is because BigBang knows how to work with their strengths and weaknesses as a band and as individuals.
BB (GD mostly) and YG producers really know which songs will fit their vocals best and which part of the songs should go to who. Their stages are also organized chaos because their aim is to maintain spontaneity and provide the best entertainment value, according to their skills.
This is what happens when you have creative control over your material. You know how to work around your limitations as individuals, use the strength of team members to address them and create a whole new dynamic. This is also why despite being formed as a boyband, Big Bang never gave off that manufactured feel.
Oh and the comparison of BigBang songs to a prickly cactus really had me rolling. 😆
They are the type to practice real hard on choreo and go HAM during rehearsals but when it’s time to dance live, they go ‘bun that’ and do whatever. LOOL. They be like ‘dance...Whats that? We got dancers for that’. But they do it so flawlessly...They are 100% hands on in everything. From tech to production etc. They are ARTIST!!

I personally feel like Daesung specifically is often overlooked when it comes to his solos, so it'd be really nice seeing you react to him eventually. Of course I'd love to see you react to all of them!! TOP has more of a hiphop style, Taeyang is R&B, G-Dragon does a little bit of everything and Seungri has more of a pop vibe to him. The Great Seungri is an album he released in 2018, would be amazing seeing you react to that! He did a collab with Mino from Winner in one of the songs, and with B.I. from iKON in another. Daesung has more of a rock vibe, and he also does trot songs actually. Most of Daesung's solo songs are in Japan, he's one of the most famous kpop singers in Japan! Some even say he's bigger than GD in Japan, which is crazy. That's why he has so much Japanese content instead of Korean, and his Japanese stage name is "D-LITE". So if you want to look up his songs, they'll usually be under the name D-LITE instead of Daesung. Daesung is my favourite and I think he has one of the best voices out there, that's why I really want people to experience that for themselves. "Anymore" by him is one of my favourite songs, I would really love seeing you react to that and hear your thoughts. It always brings me to tears. Love your reactions

You are correct about GD's voice. There are people who are irritated by it. I think it's either you hate it or you love it. I personally love it's distinctiveness and how it adds texture to the song. I live for his adlibs in concerts, he can really hype things up and it's something that sticks to your head. I remembered when I watched my first concert in Japan. I got caught recording GD's ment part and was kicked out of the venue. It was middle of winter but I still stayed listening outside. GD's adlibs made me feel like I am still there (well I am still there but not inside😆). I can always listen to their music online but his adlibs really gives life to their live stages.

As for the band six, I've never heard of them insisting on a black band specifically? I think it was more that this group was hired in 2012 for a tour directed by Laurieann Gibson and the band and company liked them so much that they made sure they didn't hire anyone else. That all future shows HAD to have these particular guys.
eta: It's not illegal to have or get tattoos in Korea, but it's illegal for anyone other than a doctor / licensed medical professional to open a shop. So technically, almost all tattooists in SK are operating illegally. I doubt it's overly policed / enforced though.

BIGBANG holds a special spot in my heart. They helped me so much during my blue days. They are the first kpop group I listened to and fell in during their Alive album.
