This is just absolutely stunning! I love the unique color combinations. I haven't done a watercolor background yet, but I sure do want to try this one. Thank for so much for sharing.
Thank you!! Glad you liked it!! I love doing watercolor backgrounds. You should definitely give it a try! They’re fairly easy and they look so beautiful! 😊
@@jenscoloringcorner I found a page in The Witch's Cottage with the same flowers. I tried the background you did here. Its is even prettier IRL.😍 I did get bleed thru onto the other page right in the middle. And along the edge with the indigo. But, it is fixable. Thank you for sharing. I am having such fun.
@@shellycastille4991 Oh wonderful! Yeah, I always try to keep it from flowing too much into the binding, since it can seep through to other pages in the book that way. But even if you get a little around the edges of the backside, it's still workable on that page. It's not ruined. Just make a vignette around the background on that page or a dark background will cover it up just fine. Glad you are experimenting! Life's too short to hold back!!! It's just a coloring book! 🤗
@@jenscoloringcorner That's a great idea. I taped the binding so no bleed through there. The bleed through was from the Indigo color, but I used this color around the outside, so I can apply your suggestion. But there was also bleed through right in the middle of the page. I don't know if I dabbed in the Indigo there, or if I used too much water. Or maybe the paper is different than Seasons. The bleed through is not significant, but it is right on the face of the witch on the next page. I may have to give her a Zoro mask, lol.
I personally don’t use paper towel due to wicking then getting the back wet, but wrapping tissue paper or the foil metal type wrapping paper, wax paper any paper or plastic which has minimal wicking behind the working page works great. Nice to see you using water Colour. Very nice work and thank you for sharing 💐. Subscribed
@@bobbiebigbelly685 Oh nice! Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll give those a try next time. I love using watercolor for backgrounds. Thank you for watching! 🤗
@@evemae6819 Thank you! No, I did not use anything to treat the page first. The paper in Hanna‘s books seem to take watercolors nicely, so long as you don’t use too much water. 😉
@@jandro2016 They do bend a bit. But sometimes I’ll iron the page after the watercolor background and before I apply anything else. Here’s my video on that….How I iron a coloring page after using wet mediums | Adult Coloring ruclips.net/video/AJCmyv_dO6w/видео.html
Hi, I just stack a pile of heavy books on top of the book, and leave it for a week or so. If you want to color another page, just put it back under the books again. It will pretty much straighten out the pages after a while. Hope this helps.💖💙💜
Thanks ! I have been afraid of using paints on my books because I tried it once and it bend out of shape so much but I will watch the video and try the ironing method.
OMGosh, Jen, you have incredible control with your brush! If I tried to watercolor a background, I promise it would be everywhere LOL!! These flowers are gorgeous - loving these color combos! Tuscan Red is probably my favorite red. I love how you're creating a reflection of the mahogany red from the flower on the leaves. So pretttty, Jen! And your dragonfly is simply stunning. Bravo on such a beautiful double-page spread! 💖💖💖
Beautiful. Love the unique color combinations that you used.💖 The colors and your coloring are stunning....Love!!! Thanks so much for doing this color along. I really apricate it.🥰💖💙💜
