I swear, Melges hated sailors! I used to ice boat on Lake Geneva and we would go in for a drink afterwards at one of the more noted watering holes, a little on the dingy side which added to the charm. Anyway, on the wall was a black and white photo of someone water skiing on the lake behind an A scow. Spent some time on an E scow he built and it was all work! Much happier on my J boat which handled Lake Michign very well.

Cross sheet that spinnaker and get 2/3 people more behind the helmsman! Far easier & faster!!

We were already 3 guys behind rhe helmsman... The boat was crowded with people.😎

Ratchet blocks on the sheet, no winch. Ask me how I know 💪

Came here for the comments, didn’t disappoint. There can be no other sport where there is so much knowledge required. I just set the sail on my Sabre and fight to keep it upright. 🇦🇺👍🍺

Why is everyone so forward ? Main, trimmer and driver should be all you see. The rest should all be in the back corner with one guy on a really long vang ready to blow

We where 10 people on the boat 950kg, so not much room for more people aft.

@@slippy112 TEN crew on a Melges 32!? Guess a lotta people wanted some action. On our Columbia 50 we carried no more than 8 -- and it was a cutter rig.

TBF it looks as though the vang was off for most of the video. You can see from how the boom is bouncing up and down.

I used to sail a Melges 32 years ago. Big stick and a rudder with no enough wetted surface. If it loads up with any weather helm it breaks loose. Not a lot of fun.

Excellent! Liked how the audible was included.

Curious lack of communication, perhaps it wasn't audible.

What a downwind blast ! To be fair it went well till the big guy stepped off the rail to ready for the drop and the winch guy went low momentarily. At the same time the main was cleated off powered up and the boat not put off the w ind to compensate.
Hopefully you got the kite in without too many prawns in it
      Thanks for sharing
