I think teams have figured out how to defend leaf's powerplay. If they pressure and hit them they give up the puck or get low percentage shots.. They will not go to the dirty area. They need a big guy in front of the goalie who will fight for position.
Last night on the first PP Matthews held the puck for like 10 seconds because he was fhsing for a cross-seam pass to Willy and never got it. He didn't attempt a shot or to throw it at the slot at all, even with Knies and JT at the doorstep. I understand that the PP was an issue at the end of last season, but this is a PP coaching issue. It's like they don't know any other play. Last season they got too creative looking to make space. This season, they just don't know how to shoot if it's not part of a difficult set play. Cross-seam passes require very fast puck movement, and they never play with speed on the PP. Savard's PP was awful in Calgary, and there is no indication that it's any better here.
Pasta was skating during TV timeouts. Clearly he sat for some kind of injury. He appeared to have some kind of lower body injury whilst skating during the TV timeouts.
The coach being in a contract year and being behind the leafs with how average or below average they have been yeah. With how good they have been the last few years and how they are starting this year is definitely a concern. Still early though and betting against the bruins is rarely smart.
Parros is not intentionally hard on the leafs. They are an inept group who fold under the spotlight of Toronto. Same for refs. Hell, same the the players.
Lads we are here for Hockey Not politics Ovie has never shown disrespect to North America beliefs and politics Regardless where he goes he shows respect Ovie has done more for NA than pretty much everyone who is critical of his connections Stay well everyone
Speak for yourself, some of us are here to listen to everything they talk about. Also, why try to gatekeep their own podcast.. they can talk about whatever they want, within any context they decide. Don't like the content, don't listen.
It seemed more that CJ was anticipating the various media chatter around the politics, not saying he will be engaging in it. He's an insider (reporter/journalist), not a play analyst.

Somehow, currently the two best Canadian goaltenders in the league are Cam Talbot and Sam Montembeault, with Jordan Binnington being 3rd.
The fact that basically noone other than Chris has Pietrangelo on their 4 Nations list is laughable, the guy is a lock for Canada.
How early were you guys awake for this game ???
Montembault has to get consideration!
Chris Johnston mentions “a world” count: 2
They have to many players but how many are NHL capable ? They desperately need depth scoring.

Panic in Boston, but they are only 1 point behind Toronto.

Not a true best on best without Russia involved

The leafs are a below average team with below average players specially the bottom 6 ,don't make any changes not making the playoffs
