That Lita Ford album brings back old memories! I was security at one of her concerts back in the 80’s when she was touring with Ratt. When she finished on stage and had to go to her bus, she asked me to carry her guitar so I did and escorted her to her tour bus. I was 18 years old, so you can only imagine the excitement that was! I always learn something new from your videos. Keep it up and thanks for always putting out great content!
Hi Kevin! My husband and I are fans as well as subscribers to all your channels. I enjoy when you have auctions. So far I have purchased a couple of your E.T. lots off of Dibdit/ District and at a great price. I love it when the reselling community comes together and benefit from one another. Thank you and God Bless! Ro & Shaun😊
I’m concentrating on sell thru rate and I’m find that now also items that have been not selling are now selling! I don’t have a store and don’t do the volume you do, no where near but, this weekend I sold 4 items that had been sitting for over a year and sold 3 fast thru rate items. And that’s how it’s going for me about 50/50. I think it’s just because I’ve gotten more eyes on my items. So I’m happy about that.
I like to watch your videos because looks like you are a very educated person with lots of scenes of humor you are a very sincere and polite with knowledge of what you are doing.
7 years ago I bought 300 Spongebob Squarepants nightlights - Selling about 1 a week I only have 4 left. - 7 years to make $2100.00 net profit from them. - So you see I don't think sell-through rate is the be all end all to reselling.
It’s hard to pass up cool stuff with a low sell through rate. I do consistently use STR to determine whether to bid at online auctions. Garage sales are another story…
I never paid too too awful much attention with the selfie rates until I start watching you. Are used to just look at sold sold sold.. I think that’s where death piles start. I found myself watching and looking 97% of the time now . It’s definitely changed the way I purchase a tad.
My son has a history degree & he was a waiter & bartender during college & afterwards. I kept telling him he needed to get out of the restaurant & earn a pension. He at 38 became a special ed teacher . He teaches at a middle school now is 43 . He loves teaching and taking off during schools closing . He in the only male & female teachers & students love him
I understand about the sale through rate but have you ever stopped and thought how does an item get to that great sale through rate. An item has to start somewhere with someone. So I do look at that but I also think about the item and how I feel it would sell and who would be interested. Once an item sales then it could become a great item to sell. An item has to start somewhere. Just a thought😀😀 I don’t want to be like everyone and sell the same thing because it sells fast. I want to provide other items that people may be looking for that is not on eBay that much
I completely agree with selling fast, BUT a lot of my items are rare & a lot of the times I have the only one. Given that, I’m able to ask just about any price I want in reason, so I don’t mind if it sits as much.
Right as the Revolutionary War museum opened ,a gentleman from the museum came to New Holland Pa for New Holland Area Historical Society to do a presentation on the museum. There are quite a few connections to Washington here in Lancaster County - he even commissioned a saddle to be made by a local saddle maker
I sold something recently that had a bad sell through rate. My pictures were good and price was comparable. Sell through rate is not always exact. Specially on a unique item. Also, if I can get a better picture than the next guy. I might get the sell.
Goodwill is great. Not going to make you millions, they're a business too - but it's bread and butter, and sometimes there's a good surprise. Last week I found a "bonus" inside a $3 board game I purchased - an autographed DJ postcard that sold for $50 almost instantly. You never know what you will find at Goodwill, and that's why I love it there.
1 MILLION right about looking up sell through rate is imperative to successful sales on ebay. I took a 10 yr hiatus from selling on ebay and just recently in the last year and a half started back, and WOAH was I in for a rude awakening as to what was selling and for how much. I quickly realized how important it was to look up sold comps vs/ what "I thought would sell" LOL Great advice as always Kevin! ✨Cheers from South Carolina✨
Yeah, whenever I step up my game and actually really "Pick" the good desirable quality or collectible items my sales start moving nicely. I've done that this week and sure enough my sales have picked up.
When making sure I am listing as to sell fast and as high as possible, I like to look up items in the recently sold that matches my item at a high price then I use the "sell one like this" I double check all the specifics and use my own descriptions.
Well i guess Im going to use your link to buy the scale with the standoff display, as i have the small accutek with the slanted display which is a POOR design flaw as you cant read it when an item is wider than the scale due to its tilted angle (how this didnt get noticed by quality control is beyond me). To anyone else looking at the small accutek scale, just spend the extra $20 to get a scale that actually allows easy reading of the display AND supports 10x the weight as the small one is a 50lbs limit. (edit" yes I know you can tilt some items but more often than not it wont have flat sides to do that and youll get inaccurate weights trying to hand balance a wonky shaped item)
Sell-through rate varies according to what you are selling. Ephemera is my main niche, and often you are selling one-of-a-kind items. For many items, there will be a buyer, but it will take a while to find your items.
Me too John. I have been a buyer and seller of collectibles. I used to date a guy who was collected railroad lanterns, locks and keys. I like the ephemera. I got some amazing pieces when we went on our travels. Do you collect as well?
@@angelsvintagetreasures to an extent. If something really piques my interest, then I will hold onto it for a little while and occasionally look at it. After a while, I will sell it off. So, I tend to “rent“ things. :-)
Sometimes Ill Will slips up and you get lucky. These days I feel lucky when I spend more than $5/month in the local GoodWill. Anything with a decent sell-through rate gets sold by Ill Will themselves. These days most of what I buy out there is vintage glass and precious metal jewelry...when I can find any. One guess where I don't even bother to look.
I read about this... I was like WOW given I'm an armchair historian. Then someone brought it up at camp along with Trump Sneakers and conversation ensued. I am just shocked at how little people know of The United States rich history more or less anything to do with processes!
I just to find (I call them hip hop jeans) embroidery on back pockets all the time at thrift stores and goodwill. I don’t think I’ve found a pair in a year now.
Gosh, back in the day, sell through rate didn't exist. Folks would sell collectible items, not so much commodity items. So, in changing with the ebay of today, as opposed to the ebay of the 1990's, using sell through is helpful. Sell through does not totally dictate what I sell, but if the market is glutted with an item and the sell through rate shows it's glutted, I would not sell the item. I've been a seller and buyer of mostly items I consider collectible but I have branched out due to research I do. I don't like change either, Kevin, but life is change.
Love's in Riverside on University is the one we went to. What city did you live in? I've lived most my life in Riverside. I totally remember the red candle lights! Also Rocko's Italian had those on every table. The owner would always give kids a thimble of wine with dinner lol
I currently have about 400 items listed. Each day I look at my 'ending today' listings to reevaluate whether I want all those items to renew or not. I have only been listing consistently since March, so I take what I have learned in that time to reconsider things: Should I de-list single items and sell as a lot? Should I get rid of the item or change the price? With a small inventory, I find this a manageable way to evaluate my listings for now.
Kevin Great Sales congrats to you and your families! How do I find out if I was approved on shop commons have lots of lots of goodies for resellers to make profit. I have way too much just looking to make something back and let and let them make the profit at this point. Have a bldg I’m turning into living quarters I need to clear out. Please let me know. Thanks a million Kevin! YOU ROCK AND HUGS TOO BRM!
Forget figuring Sell Trough Rate how most do it. Just divide 90 by how many of an item sold it will give you how many days on average it should take you to sell your item if you are the lowest total price. Example: 90 divided by 45 = a sell every 2 days. If yours's doesn't sell a few days later than that you might want to verify that you are the lowest or if something is wrong with the listing.
goodwill was not created to be a profitable homey hole for resellers. they were designed to employ/educate the needy & allow their often poorer consumers to buy items at reasonable prices. the fact that they are too expensive for thrifters is NOT their problem. if you were running the store your goal would be to profitable because if you aren''t & the store closes as some have it hurts those employed & the community they serve.
Just wondering after ebay fees, shipping cost and goods cost, how much did you really make, cause every ebay RUclips reseller never says how much they really made , cause it's consider a reseller taboo that no one actually talks about the truth of actually profit after fees and stuff ,they always say show how much they made before all that
Probably the most illogical thing I have heard in a long time is that the buyer should go back and give Goodwill more money. I find bargains everywhere. Should I go back to each garage sale and give them more money? How ridiculous! Goodwill could have taken that to an antique dealer themselves. They could have set a reserve. The beauty of auctions are the fact that one might get a bargain.
Goodwill isn't even a real "charity". They get most of their labor for next to nothing, and are even paid (by the taxpayer) to employ people. We should not be forced via taxation to subsidize our competition.
Some talked about it when they were brand new. Some of the big "millionaire" sellers were pitching them as wonderful, and not only time saving but even claimed buyers prefer the AI descriptions (makes me wonder if eBay is paying them off). But, overwhelmingly, buyers hate them because they are obviously phony and intelligence insulting. They are also often wrong.
Hey Kevin, I have a question for you, please? If you did not have the socials, would you start an eBay store up today? The times are crazy right now. I'm only half a year in and made about 8k net profits so far. I'm not sure if that's good for 300-400 store size on regular now. But I also have 10k in inventory value, which cost us about 2k to get that stuff along the way. Am I at a good start or was I stupid to start up a store when times are so tough and so many people are doing this, it seems, or I'm just noticing them now. Kind of like when you get a new car, then start seeing that car everywhere.
