Give your indoor cat quality time outside by going for a walk.
Step 1: Use a harness and leash
Use a small, H-type harness that fits the cat, and a cotton or nylon leash. A harness fits if you can barely get a finger between the cat and the harness.
Step 2: Get the cat used to the harness
Get the cat used to the harness by putting it on them without buckling it.
Tip
Put the harness on the cat during playtime when the cat is more likely to be comfortable.
Step 3: Reward the cat
Reward your cat with plenty of treats and affection. Petting your cat during your training sessions will help your feline friend associate the harness with positive feelings.
Step 4: Buckle one loop
Continue putting the harness on the cat each day until the cat ignores it. After that, you can buckle one of the harness's loops for 30 seconds.
Step 5: Build up to three loops
Build up to buckling the entire harness, one loop at a time. The process can take several months. Once your cat is comfortable with the harness completely buckled, let them walk around while wearing it.
Step 6: Add the leash
Add the leash when your cat is comfortable with the harness. Let them walk around with the leash for as long as it takes to get used to it.
Step 7: Go for practice walks
Go for practice walks around the house for a few days.
Step 8: Go for the first walk
Go for a walk when your cat is used to you holding the leash. Let them lead you on the first few walks. Bring treats along for encouragement.
Tip
Make sure it is quiet outside when you go for your walk. You don't want your cat to get spooked.
Step 9:
[Tug the leash lightly] Tug the leash lightly to lead the cat on subsequent walks.
Step 10: Be patient
Be patient. Teaching a cat to walk on a leash takes time. Take the training process day by day, moving on to each step only when your cat is ready.

Step #80: Put leash on yourself, and have the cat stare at you
Wow, so many steps..and the time evenmore take months!!!
My cat very indoor, this is gonna be away long homework work us >--
I lol’d so hard right now.
then eat the treats because you were a good boy/girl and the cat get none :P
Christopher McCarthy you made my day 🤣
I laughed more than I think I should have with this comment lmao
Everytime we bring the harness out the cat comes running and stops at the door because he knows its playtime outside xD
Xartim how did you get to that point though? What steps did you do to get your cat to that point?
DD didn’t you watch the video smh
@@slicedhippy7776 the videos steps take way too long, also depends on your cat they're different mine likes being outside but he's an indoor cat so I walk him with my dogs now sometimes he rides ontop of the dogs when he's lazy
If you have a mesh harness, one where you can't follow the slowed down process, or if you rush the harness adjustment process, expect your cat to demonstrate one or more of the following behaviors:
-Standing perfectly still then falling over like a stone
-Walking like they're drunk
-Pretending to choke. If you followed the finger rule, I guarantee that your cat isn't choking. Loosen the harness and you will see that the behavior persists.
This is fine. Give them time.
Really?
Yeah, but don't take my word for it, go google it.
+Cyber Sushi lmaoooooo
I don’t know why I found this so hilarious
4) Fighting the harness as if it was a bird of prey on attack, then trying to escape on a 3D-parcour through all the rooms.
"Falling over like a stone" and then letting itself get pulled over the floor, flat like roadkill: one of my favourite kinds of cat videos.
I'm working with my cat to get him used to a harness so he can be outside with the rest of the family (human as well as the dogs!) when we are on vacation. Doesn't seem fair that he has to be cooped up inside when everyone else gets to be outside. Got him a soft harness with spikes on it. lol!
did it work? lol
I wouldn't follow the steps in this video because (sorry if I sound rude) but they don't seem to know what they're talking about. Here's how I (somewhat) leash trained my older cat:
I put the harness on him and let him get used to it. Can you guess how long that took? About 10 minutes the very first time and now it's only a few minutes. Once he got used to it I put the leash on him and took him outside; even though he hated it he got used to it pretty quickly and started to walk around. When he tries to go into bushes or the road I just give the leash a tug and if he's persistent I pick him up and move him away. Cats aren't like dogs so I let him lead me, otherwise he'll try to get out of his harness and either start choking himself or actually get out and run off (it's happened a few times). Also, don't be surprised if your cat lays down for a bit and munches on some grass or sunbathes, just sit with him/her and pet them until they're ready to go.
Sorry again if I sounded rude, I just want people to know it doesn't take that long to walk a cat.
A small dog harness works... it was ment for one of out rat dogs, but it fixs her but we did this when she was a kitten! Never got to use a leash on her cause she put grew the kitten harness tho
several months? i just attached a rope to mine and went outside running with him! the only thing is that i was dragging him while that
Hmm...This can be useful for me
Training a cat to walk on a leash over night is slim to none. Unless your cat is very rare and happens to let it happen overnight but that's highly unusual. It takes time and you must be patient if you're not patient with your cat walking a leash will become even harder for the cat and you
This takes several MONTHS?
Why am I watching this when I don't even have a cat!?!?!?
You will need.... A CAT
So basically, my cat will be dead by the time it's ready to walk on a leash.
mhopoate OMG LOL 😂
mhopoate lol
mhopoate exactly took the words right out of my mouth😂
So true
mhopoate 😂😂😂
My cat just lies on the ground like something is pinning him down when he has the harness on, I try to stand him up and he just tips over 😂
Shione Cooper 😂😂
Shione Cooper same
Shione Cooper Mine too
Shione Cooper 😂😂😂
Same! I eventually got him to walk a bit but he’s too distracted by everything, flowers, grass, bugs, you name it. One day I put a towel down in the backyard and then I laid down while he played in the grass and went crazy. I eventually gave up and a couple months later I decided to try again. The harness was way to tight on him as he grew so much. He isn’t even one years old yet so I have to get him a new harness. Any update on the progress of your cat?
"Put the harness on the cat during playtime, when it is more likely to [claw and bite the heck out of your hands and] feel comfortable."
Brenna Battle LOL! xD
Brenna Battle They probably mean put it on right before playtime so it can focus on playing afterward.
And rip your eyes out before running away
Not that playtime.
Bumblebee Pax please tell me you're joking
Step 5: Lose interest, because this takes way too long.
or start from when they're kittens
@Vitelline r/woooosh
It’s either leaving your cat outside in the risk of:
Getting hit by a car
Getting hurt by humans
Getting into fights
Getting lost
Someone else taking them
Or...
Just use a leash
Risks: gone
months? damn
yeah I put my harness on my cat and she hated it for like 10 mins but then was fine with it. No need for the waiting they claim
I think maybe 1 month tops if you’re somewhat persistent...a few? Maybe if you have an older cat maybe? Lol
it does not take several months lol. just know your cat's personal limits.
Ikr it only took me 4 days
+K&M Forever haha kewl
Filmography I took me about 5 seconds he just likes walking
yeah our cat is 5 and did the harness and all the buckles in first session ..he didn't seem to mind it
Lmao im thinking the same thing. I brought home the harness today and got it on her by saying she could "go outside." She was pawing at the door, distracted, while i put the harness on. Then i went ahead and put the leash on her and we went outside. It was funny because she was totally weird about it. Usually when we go outside she just runs as far away as possible. But this time she stayed very close to the door and was just super cautious. Well, i went ahead and tried it again after that just so she could get some practice and she was much more normal this time, but still weird. I hope I didnt go too fast .. I really wanna br able to walk with her
I think my cat is broken.
Mine too
hopee changee I just got mine addicted to heroin and then took it away. Give it a fix after each walk and it follows me everywhere willingly, no lead necessary, and not much more expensive than buying treats. A little goes a long way.
well mine's not broken anymore xD
yep, he got used after all, even faster than my thoughts..
Same XD
I started when my cat was really young, about 8 weeks old. First I just let him sniff the harness and lead, and let him play with them. I put them both next to his food and water bowls, so he'd associate the sight and smell of the harness+lead with happy times. Then, using treats, I got the harness partially on him. One day at a time, a little more, just like the video says. You have to really praise them, and show them that when they have the harness on, they get extra attention and treats. This actually took 2-3 weeks before one day I was able to get the harness on him completely without him trying to fight me off or being uncooperative. Then after all that work, you're still not ready to go out -- you'll have to let your cat get adjusted to having the harness on, and to the leash.
Finally I took my kitten out for his first "walk," which was really about 10 minutes of letting him crawl and sniff around in front of my house. For an indoor kitten, it's absolute sensory overload the first few times they go outside. My kitten actually goes outside every day on my enclosed porch, but to be on the ground and really in the outside world was overwhelming for him. Every flower, blade of grass, rock and tree stump fascinated him. And be wary of passing cars -- you'll want to hold tight to the lead in case your cat reacts to the sound of an approaching car by trying to dart away.
So, if you're trying to get your cat used to walking, you really do have to be patient, and don't get discouraged if your cat is frightened, seemingly frozen, or just not interested in walking like a dog would. Seriously, start young if you can. Just like you want to get them used to having baths, having their claws trimmed, and eating different flavors of food at a young age, it helps a lot if you start walking them as kittens.
GozerTheGozerian thatsa long comment HOLY
Question, I’m adopting a cat that’s 8 months old, is that young enough??
Elvis Taveras Yes u can buy it and have a good time with it :)
lol what do you when your cat completely freaks out and runs around the whole house with his half harness, youre behind him trying to make sure he doesnt hang himself, and you have to actually tackle the cat and pin it on the floor in order to get the harness OFF
i think i might just try a neck band..
@@corneliakobilke4638 a regular collar isn't a good idea. It can harm your cat and a harness is safer in general as it's less easy for the cat to get out of. Take it slow, do it in a separate room if you must and if things just don't work out drop it. If your cat's happier roaming in your home without your guidance that should be fine as well. Just don't force your cat to do anything you might end up destroying your bond and trust.
If you're interested in reading material, I'd suggest you read the book or blog by adventurecats. That's a great source in my opinion!
These steps will take 150 years
Moral of the video: use treats to bribe away your cat's freedom
Axhol3Rose This comment is so underrated XD
Months? I think the younger, the better. Kittens are far more acceptive.
I started walking my cat on a leash for the first time at 9 years old. He didn't mind at all, and still doesn't (he's 10 now). It depends on the cat, not on the age.
When you walk the cat are you the one leading? I try to always pull slightly on the leash so he responds which way but it seems he wants to be my boss not the other way around. Do they come to learn to follow u?
My cat just lays on the ground and doesn't walk.
+ccc fff This is usually do to buckling the harness before your cat is comfortable in it, or having it too tight. Cats sometimes feel they are being scruffed or pressed down on when foreign objects are attached to them and just need to keep trying. Or your cat is A) Lazy or B) Dead.
As soon as i put my cat in the harness he instantly got up and played (with it buckled)
this is normal. id try to hold her while shes in the harness and when she wants down she'll have to jump out of your arms, so she would have to stand to get to the floor. be careful, though.
I think you need a new cat
I did this all within 3 hours, I'm such a proud cat dad 🥰
I did all of that on day one, including the walk. She started associating the harness with going outside by day two, which just goes to show how smart those animals are. It's been 2 weeks and Cookie walks like a pro now.
When I take out the harness she gets so excited and runs to wait for me at the door haha.... Didn't even use one single treat, just talking to her in a loving voice and petting her every time she does something right.
Especially when we walk at night when it's quiet and there are no cars, it makes her soooo happy. :)
Was it a kitten?
@@Mel-oe3dw she was a bit older than a year when we started
Step 21 : Get used to being led by the cat (leashed or otherwise)
My cat follow me even without harness
Chunaioshi Sawada same
There really is a youtube video for everything.
except for training them to walk on two legs
I started by putting the harness on the floor during playtime until he was completely fine with it, then I put it on him and he was great. Only took a week. We're working on walking outdoors, only problem is, he gets distracted so easily.
My kitten didn’t mind the leash immediately but she wants to stop every second and smell everything do we don’t get far just from tree to tree or plant to plant. Sniffing everything in sight
I'm going to do this but I am not giving my cat months to get used to the harness. I am impatient with stuff like that. a few weeks is good enough.. off we go!
Stef Rose I don't think you will need moths to get your cat used to the harness. I have an older male cat that got used to the harness in a few days. the REAL challenge is once you actually start walking outdoors. I had to bring along plenty of pit-r-pat treats (my cat cannot resist these treats so it really helped with the training). the first few weeks walking outside with him he WOULD NOT budge unless I held a treat in front of him and tricked him into walking after it (of course kneeling down that long isn't good for your back so i would just tied it onto a string). I know its hard but believe me patience really pays off (I'm super impatient too and i had to go scream into a pillow more than a few times with this training). now we actually go on an afternoon jog together (no treats needed anymore)! and our neighborhood is anything but quiet.
im willing to give my cats time as this is new to them. i feel that one of my cats will be ready in a 2-3 weeks but my other, more shy and scared, might take 2-3 months if its even possible for her to get used to it.
Same.. but I have one harness and 2 cats so I have to double that amount of weeks for both of them to learn..
Step one buy a dog put leash on it go for a walk and your done
What if my cat absolutely hates treats
theres always a treat a cat likes believe me it took me a loong time to figure out wich one my cat actually liked
i just tried putting a harness on my cat. it went crazy. now it hates me.
thanks for ending on a bad note!
THIS NO PROFESSIONAL ME TEACH YOU PROPER CAT TRAINING
set 1: PUT LEASH IN CAT AND DRAG AROUND PARK TILL HE STAND UP.
dude, i dragged my cat around the carpet and she just purred the whole time
I tried put it bites the robe and rolls on the ground
yeah I don't know about months, but I have two kittens that I have been training to walk there were completely fine with the leash and collar. They walk on it fine they just don't like me telling them where to go.
All the animals I'v ever done don't ever need this long to get to this level. I'v done all this stuff in one day and the cat was fine with it.
same ;)
It just depends on the individual animal. Some cat's hate it, others are easily spooked, and some are perfectly fine with it.
Just started training my cat - she's 12, never wore a harness before, but let me put it on her with no protest at all first time :) She's an outdoor cat but she's a little nervy now and doesn't really go out unless she has to. Hopefully the harness will make her feel safer in the garden.
It's not animal cruelty. I adopted a cat from a shelter that was transmitted aid from a fight. It's the owner responsibly that cats don't rom the neighbor and fight with other cats and also get females pregnant.
you don't know what you're talking about, outdoor cats have an average lifespan of only 3-5 years. It is irresponsible to let your cats go outside by themselves and dangerous to the local wildlife.
Treats. That's what I forgot the first time I tried this 30++ years ago with another cat! she never wanted me to leave the house without her and I tried to train her to get on a leash and I didn't know how because it was before the internet existed and I couldn't find any books on this... So I put the collar and leash on her and take her outside and try to walk down the street with her and she would roll and roll and roll and roll until the leash was completely wrapped around her and then I'd have to carry her like a baby all the way to the post office where they complained that I had a cat with me. and I said "If people can have seeing eye dogs, then I can have my hearing ear cat!!!"😂🤣😹 "Now,what did you say again?" LOL
Months? I don't think so.
*i want to take my cat out rn, my cat already adapted and it took 10 mins. Here’s how : i just let her walk around the house with the collar for 10 mins and then she got adapted. lol*
Tbh i dont need to do this because first my cat hate the harness but once she was outside she loved it
I just put it on my cat after a bath so she doesn't notice
I really don't think that's the reason cat people want to walk their furry kids on a leash. It's because cats are a lot more capable of doing many things as long as you're patient and understand the animal. Cats are amazing
How to take you pet for a walk: Buy a dog.
I'm allergic to dogs so.. 😑
+Haris Gr Yeah that's like: How to be a great cook? Eat in restaurant.
Haris Gr um untrue
Clumsy Mind 😂😂😂just found this hilarious
No.
All cats are different. I clipped a leach to my cat's collar just to see what he'd do, and he followed me like a trained dog the first time. Some cats will just lie there when you put a harness on them.
How to train your cat to walk on a leash (actual way):
Buckle one part give treat buckle other part give other treat that saves you 2 month from this video
Next, Put leash on slowly when your cat is cuddling you not playing then give a treat
Then, instead of being patient for 3 years just let the cat do its own thing and let her/him comfrable when ready start waking and dont drag thats when you get patient for 2-5 minutes
This should take 1 week not 3 month to put in the harness but still be patient at moment :)
When I put it on my cat she started running around everywhere, would roll, then run around somewhere else and roll. It was the most active I've ever seen her. I gave her treats too, but it was before this video and I think I may have given her too many.
We adopted a 5 years old cat from the local shelter and I bought a harness with bungee leash , it worked like magic!Make sure you leave the harness and leash at the cat's favorite place, and try walking them at night when there are less dog owners walking their dogs. Talk to them, pet them. I often shake my keys to encourage my cat to walk, he likes the sound. It took us a week to learn to walk on a leash. And one night he caught a mouse!!! While walking on the leash!!! That was a shock!
Thanks for tips. I think 7 months might be a little long, however I appreciate the video. I have two new cats from my local shelter, they are both indoor cats. The reason I will not allow them their freedom outside is because 1. They attack and kill local birds, lizards and anything else that moves. 2. There is danger out there, other people who will hurt them, dogs which attack them, cars can run them over, other cats can transfer fleas or disease. Good reasons for a leash I would think.
Sooo you rather let your cat wander around, get stuck in trees, risk getting stolen, hit by a car, or sent to the pound, while it ruthlessly kills hundreds of birds, mice, and other animals?? Not to mention that poor kitty would probably get into fights and get sick. I rather supervise my cat and take care of her while she enjoys the outdoors, thanks.
I don't get why people are getting all worked up. My cat is inside only, I would never let a cat outside by itself! There are too many things that could go wrong. My mom had a cat when she was a kid that went outside and she found it dead in the road because it got hit by a car!
I think walking your cat is a great idea!
But months to get them used to it?
I can't do that.
My cat usually has dry food out for when she is hungry. Every morning I give her a portion of wet food and while she's eating I slip the harness on her. The first few days she growled and was angry. We're on week 2 of this and she's purring and no longer resisting.
My cat will literally wear a harness but the minute I put the leash onto the harness she refuses to move. She doesn’t want treats she literally just sits down and tugs on it. How do I get her to walk?
Well the problem is some people that live in a city. They don't want their cats to become road kill so they keep them on a leash instead.
I’m gonna need this information for when I move out of my parents’ house and take my cat with me. He’s an indoor-outdoor cat now, and needs both his inside *and* outside time.
(Inside time keeps him warm and safe, outside time keeps him sane)
It’s easy to let him outside now, ‘cause Mom and Dad’s house is in a rural area, and he has lots of space to run around. I’m kinda nervous to see how he’d react to apartment life when the time comes…
who needs leashs when you create a bond with a cat it will follow you everywhere u go
Ir is for safety purposes
my cat got used to the harness in a week
I started with my cat when he was a kitten (which makes everything easier) but working with an adult cat is still a possibility. Now while this video is helpful, let me explain the quickest way to harness train your cat.
I put the harness on him buckled up completely and left it on him for one full day (he did the floppy thing just as your cats probably do but got over it quickly when I brought dinner in.)
Day two and three, I put the harness on him and immediately picked him up and walked him outside saying "Harness time." I didn't put him on the ground.
Day four I put the leash on him and took him outside again repeating "Harness time." this time I let him walk around on the ground using a short leash so I had more control over where he went.
After repeating day four for a few more days he knew the command "harness time" and ran to me when he heard it. It's not as hard as this video makes it seem, if it takes your cats several months to warm up to a harness, you don't have a harness kind of cat.
Lol I trained my cat to use a leash in an hour
Instructions unclear.. cat got put in microwave
Dont even joke about that.
Cardinale im dying
@@russellward2025 by your reaction. I hope your children are safe. You sound like a psycho
What if my cat hates me and runs away from me everytime I get the leash and harness?
Just take it for a walk!!!!! It will get used to it
I just dragged my cat till he walked he learned in about one minute I wasn't stopping for him because I have a large boxerpit that ain't stopping for anything. Now three dogs and one cat go for walk everday
I took me one day amd he's acting like a dog.
What if you cat doesn’t live with you
What an adorable little kitty!~
My cat walks beside me whenever i want her to without a leash.
and when a dog who doesnt like cats appear , what happens then ?
She would climb up on me.
Jaden Espino dang that's awesome but the idea of the harness is for safety hahaha
i miss these videos there better than the lady with her sleepy cat like can give us a example on how to do that
Which leash/blet is that name of that blet
It took 2 days for my cat to get used to it
Remember that it depends on your cat, and some cats just won't go on walks like this. My cat loves walks and learned within a matter of days. My mom's cat was taught the same way and refuses to even wear the harness. Not all cats are the same.
Yeah, I was able to get the harness on both my cats during the first session (with treats and praise) and on day three of harness training they're already going on brief trips to the back porch. First day I just let them wear the harness around the house for about half an hour in the AM and half an hour in the PM, second day we used the harness+leash inside, third day harness+leash+short trip outside.
There is no reason to engage in such a long process if your cat adjusts well.
My cat is among the 20%. Just adopted him on 7 December from Greece when I was there, expected to come home in about a month.
I might get a cat this will help😊🐱🦄🐱
My cat comes with me when I'm holding her fav treat bag . It's like a wireless leash
Can a Small cat can wear Leash?
I just bought a harness and my cat really loves it lol, its just, my cat has been a house cat since it was little, so it was kinda curious with the outside.. my cat ate lots of types of grass, and play in the sand, as in laying around lol. it was fun watching my cat play! :D
Wow, everyone has a cat nowadays..
cats vs dogs the movie is coming true I guess 😂😂
I just put it on and went outside, was a good walk my kitty enjoyed it, this video is BS as every cat is different. However my cat now wants to go outside all the time so if you plan to keep your cat indoors, dont go for walks
I hope how to teach is same as with Y-type harness
when I adopted my cat it made 5 cat's lives saved my cat's mom was put down and they asked if they should put kittens down and the owners said: no someone wants to adopt one when it's ready now I have the best cat ever also I already have a cat used to harnesses ;)
It doesn't take months, only if the training was done really bad. It takes around 1-3 days, max. 1 week for really sensitive cats. (Except the cat is highly people-aggressive/fearful or feral & doesn't even let anyone pet it...) I trained my 2 cats & couple of others from other owners, different ages & character.
This video is a bad example for harness-train a cat, no surprise they say it takes months. Stuffing the cat's head into the harness, holding/forcing it, not enough redirection with food, ignoring the cat's body-language of discomfort & still moving forward and they even say to pull on the leash later...overall bad tips.
I trained my cats to follow me outside from the first walk, without pulling the leash of course. (calling, treats, way longer leash etc.) The result is, that they follow me even off-leash (in nature) just like well-trained dogs. We go on walks for 9 years & they are off-leash 95% and never walked off.
Great video! I taught mine to walk on a lead and he loves it! There's a video of him walking on my youtube if you want to check it out!
well, my cat need a leash since he often got lost when he's out.. we have to lock him inside the house and never let him out again.. by using leash, my cat can go outside without getting lost again.. thats why i need a leash for my cat.. im not an idiot..
Aah my cat wears the harness without a problem but after a while he becomes aware of it and tries to bite it. I guess he's not fully used to it yet
'Gently pull the leash'
Mind:
*AGGRESSIVELY PULLS LEASH* [ok no sorry]
I'm wanting to get a ragdoll cat, but it's dangerous for them outside and many cat owners walk their ragdoll cat so I want to teach my cat [if I can get it] this.
I just put it on my cat and he doesn't care. I'm doing this for Thanksgiving since he'll have his surgery, I DON'T HAVE 'A FEW MONTHS' TIME.
If your cat does not want to get up and walk, here's a technique that MIGHT just work.
1. Reduce their playtime. If you play with your cat with a toy, play a BIT after walks and not do it before them or your cat will be too tired to get up and walk around. If it doesn't work, I can't help you. If they play with the other cat(s) or dog(s) in the house, do the same thing with them. Reduce playtime and walk them. If it's a dog, the harness and patience and stuff part isn't needed. If you have random things around the house that they use as a toy, carefully take them away before the cat gets too crazy to walk.
2. Feed them more. Feeding your cat gives them energy, so that is great. If they are fat and lazy, help them get fit by walking them. Kittens also have great energy, and having a kitten makes it easy for the kitten to adjust to walking. Also give them more water and potty time.
3. Start this tutorial. Also, it will take 3 to 200 days to finish my technique.
I hope this helped. And if not, ask me more in my channel on how to train them. :)
I just bought a harness tonight. I buckled BOTH buckled and he didn’t die guys!! He also didn’t get treats!! Whoa! I mean, he’s walking like he’s drunk, but he’s cool.
ok.
after I wiped the dribble from my face from laughing at all your comments, I'll add mine.
buy harness that is a suitable fit. put it on.
wait 30 min. take it off. repeat. 2 x/day for 1-5 days depending on you cat.
then attach leash and bring your friend out side.
each animal is different and where you live is unique.
I would NOT try this somewhere with urban traffic or too much noise.
I would Only try this on a calm street to get acclimated. Noise will only confuse and distract both you and your pet.
Use your intuition. Use your judgement. Be patient.
Try for 15 min. for a few days and stay CLOSE (within 40") to home.
If after 1-2 weeks your fur friend still won't deal with the leash, get over it.
Not all cats are that way and it really depends on them and you and the relationship that exists between the 2.
Wishing you all success!
Ours was trained from a (stray) young cat that learned to trust on her terms and I trained her from prompts I learned from my mother that learned from her grand mother and her farm cats.
I got the harness on (I think it's too small anyway) but my cat growled the whole time O.O Didn't gnaw my hands off, just growled and ran off a few times.
Awwww hes just like my cat and u love him just like i love mine
I can't wait to do this :) we are moving by a busy road and our cats are indoor/outdoor cats so this is a good alternative to keep my babies safe.
I think my cat will really hate the leash but will like the fact that she's going outside. Whenever my mom leaves the window open since she's cooking my cat sits by the open window and looks outside. However, I don't know what leash to get her...a medium or small?
lol id doesn't take that long , i just got my cats and he likes it but he gets pissed if its on too long
give it a few days
