I’ve heard a lot of people say Katniss isn’t really in love with peeta by the end of the story/movie, but that’s exactly why I love their love story so much. It’s not a fairytale love where they are head over heels for each other, their love grew with all they went through and how they cared for each other. For it being a movie, it’s a pretty realistic love story
Exactly. It's real and realistic, not toxic hollywood romance that ends in disaster in real life. Love is caring, love is friendship, love is support, not just lust and definitely not the games toxic people play. Plus she is supposed to be an intj, the rarest woman that seems really cold and pretty masculine, that is clueless about dating and relationships. I've been with an intj 5 years and they are all that. And she has ptsd/cptsd which makes it hard for her to trust anyone. I love how healthy their relationship is.

actually, it was one of the movie's deleted scenes actually. they did film the rooftop scene but didnt make it to the final cut of the film.. thing is, in the book, there were 2 rooftop scenes.. 1- the night of the evaluation, where katniss told peeta about showing the capitol she's not a piece of their games. (quite a reference to what peeta told her last yr.) 2- that picnic scene where they watched the sunset. in the deleted scene they filmed, they merged both scenes. leaving the picnic part out & including only the part where they watched the sunset. still they deleted that scene off the movie. would've been a nice addition for their relationship in the movies.

Four may be nice, but the author totally ruined the Divergent trilogy with the last book, Allegiant. The storyline was horrible and the book was poorly written. The Hunger Games are 1000 times better written. This is my personal opinion at least.

Watching some of these scenes makes me cry bc now I know what happens after and it’s really sad SPOILERS 1. When peeta says he doesn’t want the capitol to change him - it’s like they heard it (probs did come to think of it) 2. It only shows the kids part of the scene but when peeta says see you at midnight bc they never do, and don’t see eachother for weeks and when they finally save him, he’s broken and crazy I honestly think Katniss loved him from the start, even though it was for ‘the cameras’ she seemed so genuine, and even said herself she would never think of gale as anyone but a big brother, then he goes in and kisses her when he gets jealous that peeta and katniss kissed. One of my fav scenes is the cave scene, all serious and loving, and then it cuts to gale in a mood 🤣. Cracks me up every time

i love how even though the capitol completely stripped peeta of who he is when they hijacked him, there was a piece of him, something in his heart telling him to still protect katniss. it’s deeply embedded into his conscious. all those times in mockingjay when katniss was in trouble and he saved her, that was the untarnished part of his conscious that the capitol could NEVER destroy no matter how badly they want to.

i love their story because it’s genuinely real and realistic. it’s not your typical fairytale where they’re in love with eachother from the get go and everything is sunshine and rainbows. they fell apart sometimes, but they found eachother in the end every single time. they fought for eachother, they nursed eachother, they held eachother through the trauma and nightmares, they did all of it together. i loved watching them slowly fall more and more in love as the story went on, it was never meant to happen all at once and i think that’s the most beautiful thing about it.
All I see now is a second chance given to Lucy & Sejanus in a second life through Katniss and Peeta. Because they both deserved so much better ❤ and they found true love in each other, the path wasn't easy but it was worth it in the end to have their justice served .

I really love their Love Story, Peeta always was the right choice, while Gale was never an option, I think he pressured Katniss so much that she felt like giving him some sort of "Love", which never was Love.. I never shipped Gale with Katniss. And i really loved the scene on the Beach, where Katniss realises that she loved Peeta.

It doesn’t make sense in the movie, “ THEY’RE COMING, YOU’LL BE DEAD IN THE MORNING” obviously it’s a warning but in the book he slips the warning much more subtly so there’s the confusion. They are confused when he literally said: “ THEY”RE COMING” 🤦🏻♀️
