Card of Demise fits really well in Runick. You don't care about dumping a bunch of your Runick spells because you'll just cycle them off of Fountain anyway. When you need to dig for floodgates/a specific answer and you only have a card or two, Card of Demise lets you go just that little bit deeper into the deck.
It's literally insane value turn 1, rarely ever bad (also for some reason no matter how high you are in rank people shotgun ash on pot of duality rather than on demise). And in mid to latr late you not only refill yout entire hand, among these draws is probably a runick card, active it, and refill your hand times two cause of fountain. Step 3 is to then basically deck out thr opponent either that turn or max the turn after cause of how many tunick cards you could activate. It does however play into destruction cards mid to late game, so you have to br careful if you want to keep your fountain.
the thing coder is misunderstanding about runic in master duel is that you are not playing runic cards but just 20 floodgates that are the equivalent of 1 mystic mine and then draw 6 with field + card of demise to find said floodgates and thanks to best of 1 decks can'T afford to play the amount of spell trap removal necessary to deal with that
Wrong, if runick had space for it in a 40 card deck they would play every runick card at 3. You mainly just put in 2 copies of skill drain and 3 there can be only one. These 2 floodgates are more than enough against 99% of decks, the rest is draw power in your field spells and card of demise to deck to said floodgates and your runick cards which additionally stun out the opponents turn as well as assist in activating the floodgates successfully and letting them stick. Decking out is your win condition amf you need your runick cards for it. Sure the floodgates help and xoi wanna see them, but if you can't establish the field spell alongside 2 to 3 runick cards you will lose on the spot.
the more floodgates you run the more you brick. I personally run a maximum of six floodgate cards for this reason do they win me duels? yes, sometimes. are they the reason Runick is strong or effective? no

Nibiru in a Galaxy Eyes deck was unexpected. I don’t know if they usually run it or if this guy was just doing something funky with his build of the deck.
60 card deck is rigged I tell you. Everytime they draw grass, called by, handtrap (usually impermw or veiler). If you go to the sample 5 draw in the menu, 7 out of 10 I always draw that grass in the 60 card deck.
Card of Demise can only really be played in decks that don't run any hand traps of their own. Being able to control the activation order of End Phase triggers makes it much easier to use than previously, since you can force its discard effect out beford returning a spirit monster like Amano Iwato used for board breaking by shutting off skill activations. That thing hoses a lot of combo decks reliant on monster activated negations, but decks that use actual backrow or hand traps as interruptions like SS and SS don't generally have issues against it.
Just keep in mind "hand traps" here is meant in the literal sense, such as Imperm and Red Reboot, and don't actually hit the thing with Imperm unless you can out it or it's staying on the field indefinitely.
With SS do you mean Sky Striker? Cause if yes, I have yet to actually lose a single game against them with runick. Granted I know sky striker pretty well having played it ever since it came out and almost exclusively since, but I don't really think it's my knowledge about the deck that gives me the upper hand with runick. The deck has hayate against runick to deal damage and that's it. After burner and jaming waves are useless unless you go minus by using it on your own backrow. Widow anchor and shark cannon is even more laughable against tjat matchup. Eagle booster is literally a don't care card, sure it may prevent a destruction or allows your hayate to swing directly but that's the end of the story. Runick doesn't really care about a single weak monster that attacks every turn. So your only cards that do anything good in this matchup are two cards that go minus to even do something and a weak monster that can swing directly. And hugin as well as the 2k def fusion make after burner and jaming wave offline as hugin prevents the destruction and thus the second eff as well, and the 2k def guy outright just negates the card without being able to respond to it with widow anchor as it banishes itself for cost. Furthermore there is there can be only one which is super popular in runick, which locks you into hayate and hayate only most of the time unless your opponent is stupid and shotguns it. Thus your link engine is dead as well. Idk what runick players you face, but they must be really bad to lose against a deck like sky striker.

Speaking of runick I was spectating a duel and saw a runick player use a bunch of level 2s like the on summon draw and the fabled tuner that summons itself on discard to use Fabled Unicore to control the board on top of the runick stuff as well as having the swordsoul water level 10 on board (chengying?). Oh boy, someone didn't play against combo decks yet. Branded with their starter and fusion in hand. They can fusion summon twice that both result in the same outcome. Regardless of where you use a handtrap and they don't summon enough for nibiru. Sword soul with a good hand makes baron first and your hand trap is already fucked. Dragon link basically shits on 2 of any hand trap in combination if they have a good hand. I can keep going, and no corner case hand traps like droll, lancea or token collector don't exactly count. They are so specific that they will be dead cards in xour deck 90% of the time and even then it's often not even enough against these decks and they function just fine regardless, tho may not do their best board.

Lower level runick decks are easy to beat they suck but the diamond and plat versions are 100% broken. Their cards aren't once per turn which is complete nonsense. I even just faced a runick deck that got out Baronne, fabled unicorn which is a ridiculous negate, 2 floodgates, and an entire hand replenished with quick play spells and hand traps. This is even after me hand trapping them 3 times lol. The deck is 100% broken if the player knows what they are doing Your only bet is too main deck droll and lock bird which isn't the best or run Eradictor epidemic virus and hope that you draw it lol

They are so specific that they will be dead cards in xour deck 90% of the time and even then it's often not even enough against these decks and they function just fine regardless, tho may not do their best board.

it doesn't matter if runick is broken or not, it's just the most boring and uninteractive deck to play against. it's like exodia with floodgates except it actually wins sometimes

Master duel, has been unplayable since last update.
They need to start limiting and banning troll cards in master duel no one likes to play against floodgate decks that just stop you from doing anything and also stuff like numeron can go just because it pain and it's not like they losing much rarity wise
Lower level runick decks are easy to beat they suck but the diamond and plat versions are 100% broken. Their cards aren't once per turn which is complete nonsense. I even just faced a runick deck that got out Baronne, fabled unicorn which is a ridiculous negate, 2 floodgates, and an entire hand replenished with quick play spells and hand traps. This is even after me hand trapping them 3 times lol.

( its just a choice between letting this summoning mechanic be a fusion summon or not which ofc it should be counted as Fusion summon so then monsters gain their effects and if the material is sent to the gy or is stays stacked in the same zones.)
21. *Bring back the Pendulum zones but you can only pendulum summon monsters equal to the # of zones in between where you placed your scales in the back row. So with how the board is set up now you can only pen summon 3 monsters. So if you want to summon 5 they’d need to bring back pendulum scale zones plus it’d be cool to set traps in your pendulum zones yk
22. Link monsters Arrow can be used to climb up or down the field creating EMZones on your opponent’s field or your own S/T zones (monsters that are on your side of the field under the opponent’s control can be used as summoning material for link, xyz, synchro, fusion, ritual, or tribute summons)
23. Both And/or Link arrows just let the link monster attack the zones it points to along with monsters in the same Column

this is not the luckiest duelist. i played an eldlich deck he made his field i destroyed it come there turn no field no hand drew a pot card rebuilt their field come my turn i clear their field again, come their turn again no field no hand drew a different pot card rebuilt their field and won. i had total control the whole duel i just lacked damage to win and he top decks a pot card twice in a row
