The sad part is the grading company literally just ruined their entire reputation. The fact that a couple of RUclipsrs who didn't even look at or touch the box in person could say it was fake says a lot about this grading companies "expertise".
i forget where i read this but i thought grading companies get paid a percentage of what they claim is the value of a product. so if they think a product is worth a million dollars they get more money than if they think it isn't as mint and valued it at 750k
it's these types of shitty incentives that make a grading company sus

The fact that PROFESIONALS identified this box as sealed the first time around, makes me think about all of the people who could be scammed by not realizing these mistakes. Logan has a huge following and that is the reason why he found out about it. But if anyone who does not have a huge following went through the same thing, they would not be able to get it back. Wizards of the coast has stated that they planned this since 1999. They intentionally put a box of gi Joe cards knowing that someone would pay ridiculous amount for a piece of cardboard.

Yeah, a company with no Pokémon experience shouldn’t be authenticating Pokémon cards. There’s more to it than whether or not the box is aged. It could easily be a resealed fake from many years ago, doesn’t have to be modern.

On a positive note, I had a bunch of those Joe cards as a kid and they were quality trading cards with amazing art and actual effort put into them. Probably not going to be appreciated by that room though given the situation!

I just found another few sheets of them in a binder recently, both the comic book ones and some weird ones that look like live action stills from commercials that must have been pack ins with the toys when they started fighting mutants in space!
