    When Africans break down the borders through music, for me it's a DOUBLE THUMBS UP! SA is influenced by Naija, Naija influenced by SA etc. All we need now is an African passport to totally do away with the borders. Big up to Durban, South Africa for the Gqom sound and Big up to Naija for the kick ass flava. We are better together actually!!! I LOVE ME SOME MONIQUE

      Yoliswa Nzimande sorry, location is someplace in Lagos Nigeria . Sorry again, when u see a talented singer you know..pato ranking is one of them..they are diverse in their trade and always kill it..so whether it has SA influence or not,the fact remains he's a Nigerian and did a good job..you can't possibly take it away from him... you guys whine a lot..

    The song is S.A influenced, it was produced by DJ Catzico and Vista from S.A the DJ's are known to work with DJ Maphorisa on his qgomwave album. And the wololo part was inspired by Babes wodumo. Most of the dancing moves ( gwara gwara) are also S.A inspired. But all in all the song is African doesn't matter which side of the continent.

    • @evem620
      @evem620 6 лет назад +3

      Thats an understatement XD even the repetitive phrase "I'm available" is completely house. the hard drums, wololo, gwara gwara

    • @nullnull8837
      @nullnull8837 6 лет назад

      No. Guys it is understandable to give it a 10 because.
      1. You didn't expect that from Naija
      2. Also the visuals were sick. That really gave it the boost. I would have to admit we as South Africans we have to work on visuals from Gqom and house side. Patoraking I think had an advantage because of budget. Gqom for us in the S.A is not paying as much and remember Patoraking is not really a pure Gqom artist and has sourced his budget from.
      3. The originators most times do not really get that much recognition because they create something new and fresh and might have some room for improvement and that is what happened with this beat.

    I think between South Africa and Nigeria, they have united a lot on different music genres, and they are doing great, So Sade, I do think it is both the South looking up to the West and vise versa. We are getting to a point where Sa's sound and West African sound are being merged. It's actually amazing to exist in such a time.

      john veron when it comes to Rapping... S.A kills it all. They're currently the best at Hip Hop in Africa. We need more like M.I in Naija to bring back Hip Hop in Naija. But I'm very much satisfied with our Pop and Afrobeat... Hip Hop ain't Africa and i don't really it too much

    People in the comments saying this reaction is extra and that they always favour the West African songs need to stop. Truth be told Patoranking went next level with this video, this is something we would see premiere at the MTV Video Music Awards in the US or even the Billboard Music Awards, so it deserves a 10 or even more if that was possible, plus the song itself is very good. This video came out before Olamide's Science Student and it is very clear that Nigerians are not here to play and at this point in time the world has turned its eyes to African music and it is just right that our videos start reflecting international standards. About them giving high ratings to West or South African music, I think is just a coincidence that their reactions reflect what most people think about African music, where Nigeria is known at the moment as number 1 and South Africa comes in second, I mean the African superstars of today who are known internationally are mostly from Nigeria and then from South Africa, instead of being angry lets just be glad that all in all it's African music they are reacting to. Good job guys, I loved this reaction.

    • @amyanthon.6072
      @amyanthon.6072 6 лет назад +10

      MJ Styles your reasoning is just at d top... y b angry wen u kw we are all Africans, I mean which ever part Stil represents Africa.. no one wants to know where it coming from, black pple just think pass that.. we do dat a lot.. supporting makes people learn nd grow ..best statement ever..

      MJ Styles Lol...I think you are the one being extra. What the critics meant was the fact that this particular reaction was somewhat exaggerated and extra. Seems like they had heard the song was lit (which no one is disputing) prior to listening to it. Or probably already had heard the song before and knew what to expect, and about West African and South African shenanigans you've said above is so true but that is no way related to what people meant by saying "too extra" on this reaction
      You're welcome 😊😊

    When he said: "Hopa Gungnam style", I saw the light.
    The visuals, the track! It deserves the rating.
    Sho, the S.A track were bomb AF but they could've done better with the visuals. Patoranking is KING! I hope he goes to AfroPunk Joburg this year. Y'all should come nani
    Patoranking never disappoints me. It's good to see Africans sharing music.
    People need to quit acting like other African artists (South Africa) have never used the Nigerian sound to make hit songs. We are a continent of people who share experiences and anything else that we feel is for all.
    Side note: Gqom has been around for over 10years, but the sound only got recognised outside of SA in recent years.

    I think you shouldnt justify your 10. A reaction should be based on the video and the song. I feel this song, as a South African deserves a 10, because it ticked all the boxes. Gqom is the sound of Africa and this song deserves a 10.

    Great reaction Nigeria and SA collaboration is always lit🔥🔥all this argument btw whose country is the best is not necessary as they both influence each other and they do well as individual countries as well, we are one Africa every region is unique with it's own sound and when there is a collaboration like this it's a shutdown to the world so let's embrace each others uniqueness and work with that. This video deserved the reaction it got shout out to Nigerian patoranking, SA producer, Ghanian firemen one love Africa!!!

    I agree with Monde(sp), im a big fan of Pataronking but when i first heard this song i was shocked as well. I'm from bots and obviously familiar with South African music, theres no doubt that Pataronking got inspiration not only from the beats but the language, dance, location was influenced by that.
