    The wonders of nature! I planted my philodendron and Monstera outside and they just took off and became Giants. that tree is fabulous and supports so many other plants. “ I think that I should never see a poem as lovely as a tree…. • @PeggysPlants
      @PeggysPlants  4 года назад +3

      Hello Carol, I don't have a Billietiae but I have many philodendrons. When mine aren't doing anything I make some changes one at a time. First, I check to make sure it isn't root bound and has no pests. Additional things to check: correct lighting, fertilze, need for new soil, and watering habits. Rather than do everything at once, I would make one or two corrections at a time as not to shock the plant. Normally, the problem will be in one of these areas. Hope that helps.

      Hello Elizabeth, thanks for watching. I was thinking the same thing, but couldn't find anything that referred to them as epiphytic. This may be because they are parasitic and get nutrients from the tree. I really don't know for certain. Sometimes the more you learn, the less you know! 🤔

      Peggy yw
      I am trying to find a really good reference book on hoyas and philodendrons. The internet is a great source but I feel a book would really do into depth. This was a very interesting subject. I’m wondering will the tree die due to the nutrients being taken from it?

    • @claireyragui6386
      @claireyragui6386 2 года назад

      Epiphytic means that they don’t get nutrients from the tree. It lays on top of he tree, from what I understand bout it. I’m trying to learn more bout my tree philodendron to see if I can take it out and replant it somewhere else in my yard or put it in a pot.

      I potted a wild pothos and let it continue to grow outside and I'm working on another video of a wild pothos I rooted indoors and potted. Here is a link to the first one ruclips.net/video/VQunsGP4ZAc/видео.html

    Can you propagate just from a leaf cutting on a philodendron split leaf?

      You'd need to make sure you have a node on the attached stem.

      I'm living in a colder climate now and don't know that the PP would appreciate being outdoors in the cold.
