idk about the rest of the interns but i'm pretty sure the other black girl in the photo is stefani robinson, who is a writer/producer on Atlanta and other FX shows
HONESTLY speaking, Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart were absolutely influential and I can already see Ziwe is taking up the mantle and absolutely killing it!
too bad Jon dropped off the face of the earth when his opinion would have mattered most, then came back toward the end of the dark time (2020 election cycle start) and just was another angry old boomer... Even Chappelle going to africa and hiding and later coming back an out of touch transphobe wasn't as damaging to US culture, lol. (But for real fuck Chappelle, especially espousing anti-trans shit in high schools, what a piece of shit he is.) Also honestly if Jon never went on Crossfire then CNN may still have Tucker Carlson, which would maybe mean Carlson would still be there and not poisoning US politics with easily disproved, blatant lies, flat out racism, and conspiracy for a decade on that cesspool Fox (not news, they literally said in court Fox wasn't news, its only entertainment)... Fuck Jon, maybe. Frankly though I haven't seen a single example of a positive Stewart influence on new comics like Colbert has had. Again, Jon is kind of just a selfish asshole. Thank god Ziwe and John Oliver rose above that era and are now in their shoes.
Loved this segment Stephen and the flashbacks with Ziwe. You may not have remembered but it's great to remind people that this girl has put in the work. She deserves all her fruits
Its crazy, i was watching her show and thinking "she needs to interview colbert that would be hilarious" and now my dream has come true! She needs to meet up with Eric Andre next.
With James Corden leaving, Ziwe should be more in the spotlight. She'd be a great host with or without the satirical character. I don't see why it wouldn't work, I would stay up to watch her 100%.
6:03 "Could this pen be funnier? What if the cap wasn't black?" So what are you saying, Stephen, "black" isn't funny? When will we finally move past pen cap bias?
As a child of Nigerian immigrants, she realized you could be a professional in other fields: And not the usual suspects; medicine, engineering and law.
When she first started to speak I had to go back multiple times and close my eyes because her voice reminded me of someone. Turns out it was Sona Movsesian from Team Coco. Later it faded away but in the beginning it really hit me-
Did anyone else have the captions on and notice that at 4:33 when he says Ziwe it interpreted that as "Sweet 'n Sauron". Which seems like an amazing LOTR themed Chinese cuisine.
So dope ! Wow she makes me wanna go back to school and go to North western a nd be an intern lol ! love this , Colbert is something else , great influence .
@@Foolish188 depends on the circumstances. Someone doing me a favor or a friend showing kindness, maybe. Anyone else i would offer them something as compensation for their work. Unpaid internships are the only means of entry into some of the most highly desirable jobs in this country. I hope she gets another platform now that Showtime has canned 'Ziwe' - her interview with Santos was gold. I think he expected a fluffy chat that focused on gay culture but she nailed him repeatedly.
I don’t know if I believe him about Jay Z because if you asked me what’s my favorite I’ll tell you anything is going to pop up if the person or the band is your favorite old or new I mean anything they made but yeah I’m not sure if I believe him I’m not sure if I believe any one running for mayor anyway
You ever notice that Stephen Colbert talks differently when he interviews Black entertainers? I think he's trying to be hip, but it drives me crazy. Ziwe is a queen. All hail Ziwe.
"Everyone in this photo has their own show now." You can't top that for a recruitment slogan!
Wait, was that actually true? I thought it was a joke lol
@@snakearekat2634 I thought that was a joke as well

Where do I sign up for that intern list!!
I love Ziwe so much. Mentioning that she also worked at the Onion now makes me understand some of her humor too. She’s brilliant 💜🖤💜
That makes me love her even more. Anyone that likes the Onion or Clickhole is a friend of mine.
Colbert actually looks so proud. He was gleaming with pride the whole time. Influencing someone's life must feel amazing.
HONESTLY speaking, Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart were absolutely influential and I can already see Ziwe is taking up the mantle and absolutely killing it!
not really but ok lol
I am digging this

Stephen looks really proud of her!
Those interns were is babies and now they are all grown up with their own shows and he is the proud papa
@@RUclipsrOnlineNow yes babies he didn’t remember 😂
That is a million-dollar smile. What a great young lady. First time hearing of her (but I live abroad).
She’s so instantly likable!
I so love her quick wit too!
Very funny lady. Very likeable too. Her show has me in stitches.
99% of Americans haven’t heard of her either. But they will.
She does a very cute smile.

Ziwe is so much fun! Loved hearing her talk about all the stepping stones she took to where she is now.
And Gayle…”you were just doing this thing on RUclips before you got picked up by someone.” Wtf Gayle?!

Yea Colbert totally baited himself but Ziwe didn't go in for the kill!
I was so waiting for her to respond to that 😂
"All persistence matters" Lol
ZiWe is incredibly beautiful and multitalented. 🦋💜
She’s a real charmer!
The Colbert report!!! Love and miss that show. What a wonderful full circle moment for Ziwe 😍
She’s going to take over the show in the near future 🌟🌟🌟
I like this idea
That would be so cool, she's awesome.
As a child of Nigerian immigrants, she realized you could be a professional in other fields: And not the usual suspects; medicine, engineering and law.
👍🏿
She’s not a professional
not a moment where ziwe doesnt have a huge smile on her face : ) so happy for her
Jesus, Nigerians are so stunning. they just exude such confidence, poise, and charisma
All of em?

Amazing! Just discovered Ziwe today. Love her show.
love their dynamic! totally gonna check out her show
Have an open mind when you do. And if you want to laugh.... laugh it's supposed to be funny and entertaining.....but not for the guests.😂🤣
@@hustlinhard302 it's the different (but welcomed) type of humour for sure. Fresh take.
Thank you for this interview. The Brand is Strong! Ziwe is doing it!!!!
Ziwe’s show is amazing. Everyone please watch it
Never heard of her. I don't have cable or any social media.
She is SO CUTE! 🥰🤩😍
She is friggin hilarious 🙏🏽🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
Colbert is a timeless class act. I look forward to seeing what Ziwe does with the notoriety
"With my face everywhere as an homage to you"
As Stephen Colbert said to Bill O'Reilly "If it's an homage I don't owe you any royalties"
When she first started to speak I had to go back multiple times and close my eyes because her voice reminded me of someone. Turns out it was Sona Movsesian from Team Coco. Later it faded away but in the beginning it really hit me-
That orange dress! 🤩 Wow!
And Colbert was on Jon Stewart's show. Great job. Keep it going. Zee you're it.
Glad she mentioned Jonathan Swift. The inspiration for so many current satirists.

It’s weird seeing her serious. She def has a lot of respect for Stephen. And rightfully so
I want Ziwe and Eric Andre to work together so badly!!!! Lol
“everyone has a show.” Major Flex 💪. I love Colbert. And I love Ziwe
Charming, beautiful, and funny.
INTELLIGENT, charming, beautiful and funny.
Ziwe & two clones of her entered a knot-tying contest & all got the same score.
It was a Ziwe tie.
I'll show myself out...
DERP....
😂😂😂
Bruh I love her so much. What a classy funny interview.
She is beautiful.

I’d love to intern at your show. You are absolutely hilarious!

i love her show! It is super funny. I actually enjoy it!!!
Love her.
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE her!
Love this girl
Her show is hilarious. Hilarious!
She's GREAT
I really like Ziwe
I can’t even imagine where Colbert would be without ziwe
Her show is hilarious
She is on a Seth Rogan level of laughter
This is awesome!
She gives me a Jon Batiste vibe in terms of charisma
I love and adore you, Stephen, but unpaid internships are part of structural oppression, especially when the employee could afford to offer pay.
Yet here she is with her own show (and she's not the only one) and the world continues to go around.
Structural oppression lol. I bet if someone volunteered to mow your lawn for free, you would let them.

Her Scorpio rising lmao give her control freak !
didn’t appreciate how he called her a control freak
“What if the cap wasn’t black?” 😳
He’s interviewing her horribly I think.
You should have norm macdonald on the show
I wanna see him on every big show he’s the best
Is she like an American Alan Partridge?

Why is he still at home !!!???
Who are the other people in that photo?

Was John Oliver actually an intern at the Colbert Report?
Just like Conan before him.
I did the genetic test, guess we have dna that we share. Hope cool Stephen
I bet Colbert is a lil jealous that he wasn’t genius enough to put a song in every show.
