Thanks for being a voice of reason in the politcal arena Matt. And for doing the work to show the situation for what it is through your academic activities. People need to be made aware of the cost of the policies and failures of current Gov (and both main parties). I think it is also very reasonable to point out that branding people racist for supporting UKIP/Brexit was completely out of touch. I believe most people that did so did it out of realisation of what open door immigration did to their working lives, and their public services and their accommodation costs, not out of hatred for the immigrants themselves. Most Brits know why people want to leave places like China, Africa, Middle-East to try and come here, and understand it. But unfortunately not everyone can come, too many people in the ship will sink it.

Why should he win Clacton? He doesn't care about the people there and literally talked with distain about the idea of having to move there in an interview in Feb with the Times. He has no local ties to the area: he thinks he's ENTITLED to win.
Love or hate him, agree with him or disagree with him, he's the best person in the country to be in parliament holding Starmer to account. We need our political overloads to squirm and fear for their jobs and livelihoods like the rest of us do and I can't think of a better person for the job.

My young adult children have started to talk about politics in a serious way that i never heard them talk about before, they, and their friends, when together at the house, now have discussions that have surprised me by saying they think Farage is right. They haven't really seemed interested before, so when Farage says he senses a change in the country i think he may be right, and he seems to be appealing to a younger demographic that the political establishment hasn't noticed yet.

To my mid Nigel is right in everything he says and very eloquent, I hope he wins. We have been let down so badly by the conservatives and labour.

You are not likely to have Nigel Farage in any position to deliver on any of Reform Uk pledges in the near term, yes he may win in Clacton and become a regular face in the Commons but until they are there in any numbers say as the opposition party will he be in any position to change the policy of the day of course, he can voice his opinion on matters if he catches the speakers eye. Many of the Reform UK policies are too blunt for some lack in detail which in some cases don't add up if they did the other party would already be onto them. No, I will vote Labour. It is better the devil you know than the one you don't.
