Courtney and Jim on the same interview. 🤯 Only 20 minutes? I could’ve listened for hours. So inspiring.
So glad I got to witness Courtney's year by tuning into the livestreams and listening whenever she'd hop on a podcast. You already know she's something special, but this year was insane 🤯 once in a lifetime.
Insane performances by Jim, too 👏 put so much towards a goal and has achieved it!
Thank you Freetrail and DBo for interviewing the Top 10!
Thanks for following along, Mallory!! Appreciate your support. 🙏
@Freetrail always love what you're putting out into our trail running corner of the world!
Me too! It was exceptional big able to live see Courtney's bad ass summer!!
Jim, you rock. Courtney, obviously, you rock... and just because something is obvious doesn't mean anyone is taking it for granted. Incredible.
Wow. Courtney and Jim interviewed at the same time! What a treat!
I was on a bike ride and stopped to watch both Jim and Courtney cross the finish line at UTMB. Really cool memory
Really enjoyed each and every one of these TROY23 interview series. It must have been quite some work to set it all up. Thanks Dylan!
anyone else tearing up a bit around minute 12? mad respect throw down between two legends. Thank you, freetrail
i like how neither mentioned a utmb race on their upcoming race agenda.
UTMB pissed in the pool. Say what you want about ultra-runners, but it's never a good idea to piss off the outdoor fitness hippies. I'm sure anyone who has attended a PTA or zoning board meeting in Colorado/Arizona/Oregon etc can attest to this.
Awesome episode! WOW. Jim back at Western States this year......this is going to be epic!!
Popcorn city!
Awesome! Thanks Mr. Bowman.
Thanks for watching!!
Such a great video. Thanks DBo!
super merci beaucoup ! très bon interview. j'adore les deux, tellement inspirant ! =)
Legends! Great interview Dylan!
The Queen and The King of Ultra trail
Absolute legends
Wish this vid would have been individual like the top 9. I wanted to hear 20:39 So much more from each of them.
Epic congratulations
Year? Feels like Decade with those 2~
Lol, true. 😎
Courtney and Tara head to head at hardrock is gonna be cool
Can't wait!!!
Great athletes, great people. Courtney's certainly altitude adjusted for Leadville. Always wondered why Jim has never given Hardrock a try. Given his success at UMTB, taking on Hardrock would seem a natural follow-up.
In some of the other interviews with Jim he talks about that his main motivator in picking events is the competition side of racing, and since Hardrock only gets a handful of “elites” compared to something like UTMB, he’s not as inspired by it as other races with deeper fields
Is Jim starting to have a french accent ? 😄
Okay, shocker, no really! 😛
Tribute to Jim:
Admire how straight he is about his goals. Rather than avoid the pressure of doing that, it is as if he invites the pressure that this honesty provides to keep himself accountable. Admire the fact that he has moved continents to achieve a dream. Slam dunk Male Ultra Runner of the year.
Tribute to Courtney:
Let me preface this by saying that I am a conservative who detests identity politics and all the liberal virtue signalling that pervades society today. I have no time for race baiters or feminist types. , etc....
Now you know where I stand on the political spectrum, I hope that gives a bit more gravitas when I say that Courtney Dauwaulter is (in my view) THE best ultra-runner the world has yet seen. Taking into account the natural advantage that men have over women, if you were to hypothetically iron that out, it is my belief that Courtney would top the lot. Just my opinion based on her 2021 UTMB Run, and her 2023 Triple. Can't be proven of course. And certainly no disrespect to Messrs Walmsley, Journet, or D'Haene.
Anyway, congrats to both. Fully deserved.
@@TrekwithTyler It's because I'm not a sexist (sexism is a form of identity politics), so therefore I have no political bent to blow smoke up Courtney just becuase she is a woman.
@@TrekwithTyler you better go back to studying your zee/zir pronouns. Talking about being a decent human being when you’re accusing this guy of isms with no evidence. You’re probably a huge hypocrite. 😂
Is this the only gender-neutral sport
What? How is running “gender-neutral”
