This song hits home. I dated a girl named Jess. Fell in love and moved in. Needless to say it didn’t work out. The week before I moved out I was on a Bukowski binge. I told her I couldn’t do it anymore. She gave back the ring, left the room, and that was that. I packed up my things and left. We never spoke again.
@@bruhguy4208 we moved too fast. She was my high school crush. We were acquaintances. We reconnected the last few months of my military contract. Then we started dating after a couple months. I was approaching my end of service date and she recommended that we move in together. Granted we have only been together for 5 months at that point. I know, way too fucking fast. Then we moved in. I started my first semester of college and she was a junior. Everything was great the first few months and then it turned into a lot of bickering and arguments. We just weren’t compatible. We had romanticized what we expected out of our picture perfect partner and tried to change each other. It just wasn’t healthy for either of us. Obviously there is a lot more to the story. Long story short, we were both selfish and unwavering in our values in what we expected out of a relationship. I realized that we kept trying to rebuild something that was impossible to fix. In the end, I hope she is happy. I know I am now.
And the engagement part was an act of desperation the last month and a half of our relationship. We were together for a year and some change at that point and doing better. Essentially, hoping that somehow getting engaged would change our relationship for the better. As if it was going to be a permanent fix. It was dumb. I learned a lot. Life goes on. Calling it off wasn’t something I wanted to do, but in the end it was probably the best thing that has ever happened to me. I decided to move out of state and go to college somewhere else and somehow a lot of things worked in my favor.
Okay, I know this is a song about a divorce, but for some reason I can't stop hearing it every time is my birthday (like today) and sing it at the top of my lungs. It's a strange feeling of empathy but I like it.
"I left a note up on your bed that said "Hey, thanks again for everything you did."" I just did that after staying over a friend's house. Thanks Mel :3
Same. I saw them on March 24th and a crowd surfer stepped on my chest,I got kicked in the ear and the next day I had a bunch of random bruises . It was so worth the pain though, all the bands were awesome and it was a lot of fun :)
Today is the first day of your life. Leave what you hate behind and create the world you want to be in. You can do it. Dont wait. Times wasting.
Ringing 2020 in right
HEY JESS
I WOKE UP OLDER CARRYIN
hey dude !
that part at 2:26 literally makes me cry every time, something about the raw emotion in that part just makes my emotions go full frontal.
