  • Rosslyn is one of the best small towns to visit in the Central Cascades, many great restaurants, cafes, and coffee shops! This drive was done the first week of July 2024 and follows the east side of Cle Elum Lake before eventually crossing the river at the campground. Tons of places to camp and fish in this area, hiking is also always an option. Lots of backpacking cars in the lot, I was surprised that it was 90% full this early in the morning! These videos are made in real time and not sped up or edited in any way, what I see is what you get. Please enjoy, subscribe, like, and comment :)

Thank you so much for posting this! One of the funnest nights of my life I spent lost, going back and forth between Roslyn and Ronald looking for the Salmon La Sac trailhead in 1990. Our church's young adult group was going rafting and I spent three hours driving back and forth on the roads, talking to people at the diner, helping a complete stranger run an errand, driving a person to her home, then getting directions from her husband, and I generally had a blast the entire time! The roads look exactly the same.

The road to Salmon La Sac was paved back then? It was hard to find places pre-smart phone days :)

@@AmericanOutbackAmazing We were camping by the river and the final part of the adventure, at 1:00 in the morning, was finding a bunch of drunk guys around a bonfire on a backroad who led me, using their four-wheelers, to the camp site, going over a half mile offroad trail complete with berms and whoops! In my '69 flat nose ford econoline van. It was a riot!

@@AmericanOutbackAmazing if you get on Zillow. About 2 mi past the campground up there is a sweet cabin for sale. 475k that would be a huge Airbnb destination

Nice, not sure my wife would go for that. I really want some land near the Rocky Mountains in Wyoming or Colorado., that would be my dream. Build a primitive off grid cabin, cell service would be nice though!

@@AmericanOutbackAmazing well pull some equity out of your house. Use it for a down payment on a rental. Put it up with a property manager duplicate the process 3 times and when you are 60. Sell them all and buy the pipe dream for free. I have 6 rentals right now. After the mortgages are paid we net about 5500 a month and my wife basically keeps her entire salary because I'm retired. But I'm only 43. Ha

Cool, good to hear. It looked closed for good that day. We usually stop in Roslyn but it is good to have other options :)
