    This is the best tutorial and is for some reason much lower.
    This is the only one that properly explains orientation and movement, the other videos just assumes we've figured that out already.
    I messed up my little cousins cube and had to fix it quickly and this video helped me do that so thank you!

      Ryan Wilshere ok so I'm at step 3 where I have to make the white/blue side get the the blue and white corners together but they don't ever match up

    • @Aabra69
      @Aabra69  6 лет назад +1

      So what you're saying is you never get a scenario when it's either blue/blue white/white or blue/white on the same side of the Skewb? What you need to do is pick 1 side at random and just do the algorithm twice then re-evaluate to check if you have the scenario or not. Assuming you don't have it then do the algorithm 2 more times but this time don't pick a side at random. Do it on the exact SAME side that you "randomly" chose the first time. This should ensure that you rotate through the various different options and eventually generate the appropriate scenario. If you pick a random side every time then you may have issues. You shouldn't have to repeat this process more than 3 or 4 times I have found maximum. Let me know how it goes.

    what if you have all the center pieces correct but 2 corner pieces in the correct spot but not orientated correctly

    • @Aabra69
      @Aabra69  6 лет назад

      Then you are on step #3. Start from the 14 minute 20 second mark of the video. It's a bit of a confusing step - you may want to watch the video for that part a couple of times.

    • @Aabra69
      @Aabra69  6 лет назад

      To be clear - the fact that 2 out of the 4 corner pieces are correct is irrelevant. It's an all or nothing thing. All 4 of the top corner pieces need to be in the correct position and oriented correctly or it's just like none of them are with regards to solving the skewb.

    Hey bro there are 2 parallel pieces center pieces left what should I do????

    • @Aabra69
      @Aabra69  6 лет назад

      So just to confirm - I am assuming all your corner pieces are in the correct position and oriented correctly. Focusing on the 2 center pieces that are incorrect. Are they simply oriented incorrectly? Do they need to just be flipped around? Or are they not in the correct position? If the center pieces are in the incorrect position then you're all the way back at step 2. Start watching from 8:08 to put the center pieces in the correct positions. If all you need to do is flip them then you are on the final step. Just do the final algorithm (the 6 times one) but position the skewb so that one of them that is incorrect flips and the other doesn't. Watch the video starting at the 20:12 mark so that you understand which center pieces are going to flip around and which ones aren't. You want to get to a state where 2 are correct and 4 are incorrect - and you can orient the skewb to then flip the 4 incorrect ones to finish the solve. You're probably going to have to do the algorithm a few times in order to get to that state. Don't stress out over "screwing it all up". As long as you do the algorithm the full 6 times - even if you orient the cube "incorrectly" you're just going to be flipping other center pieces. The positioning of your center pieces will not get messed up and your corner pieces will remain untouched. So don't be afraid. :)

    @frazeyford1786 2 года назад

    in step 3 it's confusing when you are talking about corner pieces (blue/white white/white ect) being on the same "side". What do you mean by "side", at one point you are pointing to a possibility of two blues that are on different planes of the cube, so I'm guessing "side " is not plane but "half'. Do you mean they can just be on the same half of the cube?

      That sounds very strange indeed. I would recommend double checking the skewb as it should either be a 4-2 split, everything is wrong, or everything is correct. A 3-3 split I don't think should be possible. That being said pick a random side and perform the formula 6 times consecutively and then reevaluate it. A 3-3 split would theoretically lead to a 5-1 split after the formula is completed which should also be impossible.

      Ryan Wilshere I did that, but it gives me a position where there are 2 unsolved edges right by each other. I can't figure that one out :/

      To clarify. Are you currently on the final step? All 8 corner pieces are in the correct positions and oriented correctly? All center pieces are in the correct position - 4 are oriented correctly and 2 aren't?

    • @Aabra69
      @Aabra69  6 лет назад

      Can you confirm that Steps 1 and 2 are 100% complete? Make absolutely certain that the first 4 corner pieces are in their correct positions and oriented correctly and especially double check to make sure all center pieces are in their correct positions (but not necessarily oriented correctly)

    • @Aabra69
      @Aabra69  6 лет назад

      Once you validate that steps 1 and 2 are 100% - what are your two top colours? You need to look for those 2 top colors to appear on the same side of the skewb on the final corner pieces. You may not have a single side with only top colours but there's a good chance that you will. If you don't have a scenario with 2 top colors on the same side then pick any side and do the algorithm twice... then check again. If you still don't have any do the algorithm again twice but do it on the same side that you did it the first time. I find this will usually get me to a scenario with a single side having only top colours.

      You're not wrong - I am not a youtuber - I think I only have a couple other videos... this is the only one that regularly gets views. If I wanted to do a professional video I would have gone about the entire process differently. Starting with - don't do it all in a single take, actually edit the video, and have a script ready instead of just winging it. I only created this because there was literally nothing else at the time and I didn't want people to have to go through the pain that I did in order to figure it out. I created the entire video and uploaded it in less than an hour. I didn't want to spend more time than that on something to just help others out. If there is a better video out there that teaches everybody this then by all means go ahead and watch it.... I'll even be happy to link to another video here but based on the views and the comments I've received I have to believe that this has helped many people. The last part is difficult to explain in a way that doesn't confuse people because there are many different scenarios. I tried to cover them all to give people all the information they would need but it just confuses people. If you let me know what step you are on I can try to help.

    I got all the way to the point of where you have to do the algorithm 6 times in order to solve, I got the same patterns as you yet I’m not solving once the 6 algorithms were done... ☹️☹️

    • @Aabra69
      @Aabra69  6 лет назад

      You're almost there! Look around the Skewb and how many sides are correct vs how many sides do you need to flip? What I recommend you do is watch the final step of the video - specifically the part which will let you know which sides get flipped and which ones don't. Test it out on your own Skewb. You can rotate any side you want 6 times and you won't mess anything else up. (Just make sure you do it 6 times.) Make a note of which center pieces are correct before you do the algorithm and then make a note of which center pieces are correct after you do it. Paying close attention of course to how you have the skewb oriented when you do it. 4 center pieces should flip every time and 2 should remain the same. Keep doing the algorithm orienting it differently each time. Try and orient it so that 1 or more correct sides gets flipped while at least another one stays the same. Otherwise you'll just end up with the exact opposite of what you already have which won't hurt your solve but won't help it either. Once you have a scenario where 4 sides are incorrect and 2 are correct.... (and the 2 correct sides are not on total opposite sides of the skewb) then carefully orient the skewb so that only the incorrect sides flip while the 2 correct sides stay the same... and it should get solved. Edit: I realise this is a bit of a complicated explanation but it's really quite simple. Watch the video from the 22 minute mark a couple times. Specifically paying attention to the instructions regarding which sides get flipped with the formula and which ones don't. Once you understand that it should be straight forward.

    If you realize your explaining something terrible, why do you keep doing it. So confusing repeating starting over missing explanations all together. Just mess with it till you get it right doesn’t qualify as a tutorial. 🤨

    • @Aabra69
      @Aabra69  3 года назад

      Because I made this video several years ago in like an hour on a whim in an attempt to help people. I didn't spend days making this little video. It has helped thousands who seem to think the explanation was great, much better than any other videos on the subject, and they can now solve their Skewbs without issue. Don't take your frustrations out on me. It's a puzzle. It's supposed to be hard. You need to think to solve it.
